Eric pulled up outside work and got out of the car, I sat there taking a deep breath. I was so happy but I wasn't entirely sure that I could tell them right now. Eric was at the door to the building when he realised that I wasn't behind him and he turned around and came back to me. He opened the door and knelt down in front of me
"What's wrong Nellie?" he asked and I smirked at the nickname
"Are we ready to the tell them? I mean I want them to know but I'm not sure that I'm ready for them to know?" I questioned, feeling a little self conscious. Eric grabbed my hands and squeezed them
"Nellie we are so ready to do this, they're going to be so happy and I can see them being ecstatic at the news. We have nothing to be afraid off" he said and I smiled unbuckling my seat belt and go out of the car. Wrapping an arm around his waist as we made our way into the building. As we made our further into the building I was welcomed back by different people that I didn't see very often but it felt good to be back. The team weren't at their desks but Hetty was sitting at hers so we made our way over to her. She looked up at us as we stood before her and she placed her book down and smiled
"Mr Beale, Miss Jones what can I do for you?" she asked ushering for us to sit in the seats in front of her desk. I looked at Eric and he nodded, Hetty who seemed to see that we needed to get something off our chests prompted
"Is something the matter?" she asked and I shook my head
"No Hetty, actually everything is better than fine. Its great, I haven't felt this good since Eric proposed" I said and she raised an eyebrow
"What are you getting at Miss Jones?" she asked and I looked at Eric and saw him nod, a smile on his face, and I felt the reassuring squeeze to my hand.
"I'm pregnant" I said and as we watched Hetty, her expression went from confused to beaming in a split second.
"Congratulations Mr Beale, Miss Jones this is a cause for celebration. How far along are you Miss Jones?" Hetty asked and I smiled
"14 weeks" I said and she nodded, she was silent for a couple of minutes
"That would mean that conception was pretty close to your engagement was it not?" Hetty asked and we nodded, blushing bright red at the memories
"Well this is great news for the two of you, congratulations again. Miss Jones may I speak with you?" she asked and I nodded. I looked toward Eric and nodded trying to reassure him that I hadn't done anything wrong.
When Eric had headed upstairs to ops Hetty sat forward and smiled
"I am so happy for you Miss Jones but there is the matter of your schedule and the risk of your work if you go out in the field. I would think that given the pregnancy you would wish to stay up in Ops which is completely understandable. I also would like to know when you wish to take maternity leave so that I know for how long to give you" she said and I nodded
"I would like to stay in Ops Hetty, as for when to take maternity leave that would be something I would have to discuss with Eric and my OBGYN" I said and she nodded. I was about to head up to Ops to catch up on everything that I had missed over the past couple of weeks before I remembered
"Hetty would you like to see a picture of the sonogram?" I asked and she nodded
"Of course I would Miss Jones" she said a smile spreading across her face. I grabbed the picture out of my pocket and handed it to her. She smiled and ran her thumb across the picture
"Miss Jones, you and Mr Beale will make wonderful parents" she said handing me back the picture.
"Thank you Hetty" I said.
I made my way up to Ops and sat at my computer next to Eric and the first thing he did was hug me
"What was that about?" he asked when he pulled back
"I had to discuss with her where I would be until I went on maternity leave, and when I would go on maternity leave. I told her that I would rather be in Ops than risk my life in the field and that I would have to talk to you and Doctor Morgan about the whole maternity leave thing" I said and he nodded
"Alright so I don't have to worry about you then?" he asked and I shook my head
"No you don't but I know that won't stop you" I said and he chuckled
"True" he was about to kiss me when an alert sounded on our computers and we focused our full attention to the computers. It was an alert from Callen and Sam. Putting in our ear pieces Eric asked
"What is it Callen? Where are you?"
"Where in the warehouse district, track Kensi and Deeks phones and you'll find us. Granger sent us to find the last members of the terrorist cell we infiltrated yesterday" Callen said. I typed in Kensi and Deeks' numbers into the computer and tracked them.
"Alright Callen we have eyes on you" I said
"Good to see your back Nell" Sam said and I smiled
"Good to be back" I said and I saw Eric smile out of the corner of my eyes.
It was three hours later and the team were back in the building. Granger was talking to Hetty to brief her, and the others needed to be checked out, especially Deeks who had been grazed by a bullet. I bandaged them up and told Deeks that if it got infected then he would need to go to the doctors to have it checked out. He joked about the fact that it wouldn't get infected after the poking and prodding I did to the graze. We all laughed and then Callen asked
"So how are you feeling Nell?" I was about to answer when Hetty and Granger joined in the conversation.
"I'm feeling a lot better" I looked up at Eric who had his arms wrapped around my waist and was leaning his head on top of mine, feeling the nod I said
"Actually I have some really great news" and each one of them looked at me expectantly, all except Hetty who knew.
"Well I'm pregnant" I said and there were gasps and a "I knew it" from Kensi which caused each of us to laugh.
"How far along are you?" Sam asked and I smiled
"14 weeks" I answered and they all et out congratulations and well wishes. They shouted us a trip to the local bar and while everyone else was on alcohol I sipped on the orange juice that I had ordered. Enjoying the time spent with the team.
