For the rest of the week Eric and I were stuck in OPS until Hetty would force us to go home and catch a couple of hours sleep, so when the case was finally closed early on the Saturday morning Eric and I left and went home, collapsing on the bed because we were exhausted and there wasn't anything that sounded better than catching up on the hours of sleep we'd missed, we hadn't even bothered to change out of our clothes into our pjs before we collapsed on the bed and fell into a deep sleep. When we woke it was to grumbling tummies and the sun was just beginning to stream in through our bedroom window. Eric moved closer toward me and kissed me passionately on the lips before whispering
"Good morning sunshine" I looked over his shoulder and saw that we had indeed slept the whole day and night away and it was 0530 in the morning which meant that we had a good excuse for the rumbles that sounded more like freight trains going past.
"How about I get us some breakfast and then you can have a soak in the bath while I go down to the beach and catch the surf with Deeks?" he suggested and I nodded
"Alright, sounds like a plan. Maybe we could invite them over and have a lazy double date?" I queried and he nodded, leaning over and kissing my lips before getting out of bed and heading into the kitchen. So I grabbed my phone and sent a text to Kensi and Deeks, knowing that one or both of them would be up right now, especially since Kensi was always an early bird and Deeks even though he wasn't got up early to surf. Surprisingly Kensi text me back less than five minutes later to say that her and Deeks would be there in the next twenty minutes for breakfast. I rushed out of bed and dressed before heading out to the kitchen to tell Eric, who rushed into our bedroom and left me in charge of the frying pan while he changed.
When we heard the knock on the front door alerting us to the arrival of our friends, Eric took control of the stove again and I went to answer the door.
"Morning Nell" Kensi said and I smiled
"Morning Kensi, Deeks" I said inviting them in.
"Morning Nei Nei" Deeks said giggling at the nickname he had given me whilst we were working as partners when Kensi was back in Afghanistan.
"Hey Eric" Deeks said walking into the kitchen and seeing what we were having for breakfast
"Pancakes, eggs and bacon. Oh you do know how to make a guy feel special" Deeks joked, I looked over at Kensi who was rolling her eyes
"Deeks, out of the kitchen" Kensi said and when he didn't budge she went in and dragged him out, which caused me to giggle.
"That wasn't very nice Kensalina" he pouted before turning to look at me as I struggled to control my laughter "and you turned Nei Nei against me, harsh Kens" he said. Composing myself the best I could I placed a hand on his shoulder and said
"Its alright Deeks, I wouldn't really turn against you" and as he grinned Kensi groaned. She looked at me and rolled her eyes as he started going on about how he could trust me because I was cool and understood his weirdness. Keeping back the eye roll I turned to Eric and asked
"How long until breakfast is ready?" I asked and he looked up at me
"About three minutes" he said and I nodded. As Eric plated up the meal for each of us my tummy rumbled and everyone looked at me before bursting out laughing. I looked at them slightly offended before explaining
"Hey its not funny, I am eating for two now alright. Besides the smells have been wafting through the house for the last half hour and that's just torture to anyone especially a pregnant woman" I said and they all nodded, Kensi smirked as she saw the look pass between Eric and Deeks. I looked at Kensi and we cracked up laughing, almost falling to the ground in a fit of giggles.
With breakfast done and the dishes in the dishwasher Eric and Deeks grabbed their gear and said their goodbyes. Eric wrapped his arms around my waist and then leant down to kiss me, before he placed a kiss on my ever growing belly. He was about to leave when he ran back and kissed me again whispering
"Love you Nell" I smiled and pushed him out the door. Kensi who had said goodbye to Deeks rather quickly looked at me with a smirk on her face
"What?" I asked and she smiled
"You guys are too cute" she said and I looked at her
"I'm serious, you guys were cute before but with you being pregnant he can't seem to keep his hands off you" she stated and I thought about it, it was true. Every chance Eric got he would have his hand on some part of my body, though more often than not his hands rested on my belly.
"Alright, yes I agree" I said and she chuckled, before dragging me over to the couch.
The first twenty minutes or so we talked about work before we got onto more serious stuff. As it was we hadn't told our families that we were having a child, the team were the only ones who knew. Mainly because my family lived out of state and Eric's only remaining family was his mother and she lived in a home because she had dementia and didn't remember any one, though that didn't stop us from visiting her.
"Have you told your family yet?" Kensi asked and I shook my head.
"No we want to tell the face to face, Eric and I phoned them the other day and asked if they were available for a Skype chat tonight. So we have planned to tell them then, as for Eric's mum we want to tell her but she has no idea who we are and she will forget about it" I said and she took my hand
"Oh that's hard, it must be horrible for Eric to see her go through that?" she stated and I nodded
"The last time we saw her she asked if she knew where her little boy was and that she had forgotten him at the park and that she tried to go back for him and they wouldn't let her leave. Eric almost cried at that" I told her and she nodded a sad smile on her face. I was thankful when she changed the subject
"Have you started discussing the wedding yet?" she asked and I nodded
"A little, we were going to get married in November but I'll be eight months pregnant then. So we really discussed it and we both found out that we want a spring wedding, with all the blossoms and new leaves on the trees so we've decided to go for May. Giving us enough time to prepare for our wedding and for me to lose a little bit of the pregnancy weight" I said and she nodded
"That sounds like a great idea. And your little girl will be there as well" she said and I nodded my head. Eric and I had also talked about who we would get to be apart of the bridal party, and knowing that Eric had chosen Deeks as his best man because he was a close friend and though they were so different they were actually really close, I had chosen my best friend to be my maid of honour, my sister Jackie and my sister in law Georgia were going to be my bridesmaids and Sam and Callen were going to be Deeks grooms men.
"Kensi I want to ask you something" I said and she looked at me intently
"What is it Nell?" she asked and I grabbed her hands.
"Well honestly its more of what I would like for you to do, so please hear me out. You have been there for me from the very beginning which surprised me a lot. I was that weird nerdy girl who talked to much and obsessed about trying to get people to like me, but somehow you saw right through that and you took me under your wings, you showed me LA and the beauty and glory of the city, we've always had our girls nights and shopping days and I've never really had anyone to do that with before. I thought I was close to my sisters but being here and learning more about you I realise now that I know more about you than I probably ever did my sisters. You are my best friend Kensi and I am so happy to have been blessed with you as my girlfriend. I was wondering if you would like to be my Maid of Honour?" I asked and she nodded, seeing the tears that she had tried so desperately to hold back falling down her cheeks she threw her arms around my neck and squealed
"Yes Nell I would love that honour, oh my god we are going to have so much fun" she said
"Are you sure about that?" I asked and she nodded. Smiling I grabbed my laptop and logged on showing her the details that Eric and I had decided on as of this moment.
An hour and a half later Kensi and I were looking through the different venues that Eric and I could hold our reception. We didn't want it somewhere too flash but then again we didn't want it somewhere completely drab either. That's where Eric and Deeks found us when they walked in the door.
"What are the two of you doing?" Eric asked making his way over to the couch and leaning down to give me a kiss.
"Looking at places to hold our reception" I told him and he nodded
"Ah, well we'll leave you both to it. Deeks and were going to shower and then head out and get something for lunch" Eric said and we both nodded.
