Writer's Note: Hey everyone, feel free to skip this paragraph if you don't care. Haha. So, I had lost some of my interest in this story for a while. I was probably too busy, but I have my muse back! My writing style may change in the next few chapters(Possible mid chapter 5...) Anyway, thanks for reading!

4. Mr. Jonas And The Battle Café

I blinked my eyes open once again and found myself nestled warmly in bed between Marie and Andrew. I raised my head and yawned. I felt sore and worn, the battle still fresh on my body. It was morning time, and the couple were just beginning to stir.

I grunted as I stood up and walked to the foot of the bed, jumping down on unsteady legs. I walked out of the large bedroom and into the living room. I sniffed the air to see if they had filled my bowl since I had been asleep.

Over the last couple of weeks, Andrew and Marie had made sure to get me anything I needed, including a surprisingly delicious pokémon food. I crawled behind the bookshelf and found the foodbowl, bright orange with the word "Rarity" in blue letters written across it.

I ate the red and blue kibble contently, knowing that later I would also be offered eggs, bacon, and even pieces of pancake, as was the morning ritual.

"Rarity?' Andrew called. I poked my head out from behind the bookshelf and looked at him. "There you are." He pulled me from my food and carressed me like a baby. "You feeling better." I grunted in a neutral reply. "Good... So, what do youthink about a battle next week?"

I blinked. Another battle? With Kim and Glory again?

"You see, someone saw a video of our battle yesterday," He told me, looking out the window. "And they want to meet somewhere and battle. I don't know what Pokémon she has yet, but it sounds like good practice, right?"

"Vee..." I guess... He smiled down at me and scratched my head. "You're probably really tired still, huh? Let's make some sausage and eggs."

For the following week, we didn't work as much on moves as we did on my endurance and stamina. I would run beside him while he was on rollerskates, I continuously used double-edge and takedown on dummies until it began to hurt less to use the moves. Then we had really light practice the day before the battle, just a light jog in the morning.

This time, our battle was in the city. There was a cafe with a large clearing, and the other trainer had said that they'd gotten permission from cafe owner to have their battle there. It attracted more customers for him, anyway, right?

Then the shop keeper appeared. He was an older man, with hair greying and wrinkles appearing. Upon his shoulder, sat a Pichu. "Ah, you're here!" He waved us towards him. "Would you like some drinks before we begin? You don't have to pay if you win." He laughed.

Andrew smiled and shook his head, but Marie happily placed an order for two lemonaids.

"I didn't want lemonaid... plus, we don't know who we're facing, yet." Andrew said.

"I know you didn't want lemonaid," Marie rolled her eyes. "One for me, one for Rarity. What do you mean by 'we don't know who we're facing, yet'? Didn't you read his email name?"

"No."

Marie sighed. "You're facing the cafe manager, Andrew."

"Wait, really?" Andrew asked.

"Yes," the manager said as he returned with two glasses. "My apologies if I didn't make that very clear. Are you ready?"

"Oh, yeah, of course!" Andrew replied.

Just like that, a space was cleared and a referee stepped out of the crowd. "The first down for ten seconds is the loser!" The referee said. "Mr. Jonas, are you ready?" The older man nodded. "Competitor, are you ready?"

"Me? Oh yeah!" Andrew replied as I stepped out in front of him.

"Ready... Begin!"

Andrew was first to react, this time. "Quick Attack!" I dashed back and forth, building up speed. The Pichu tried to step back, but I was faster. I hit him, though not directly, just pushing him away but not knocking him over.

"Thunderwave!" Was the older man's reply.

The shock that shot from the smaller pokémon did not hurt, in fact, it didn't seem to do anything at all.

"Ahh... Try a takedown, quick!" Andrew said. My legs were slow to reply, but I moved. I slammed into the pichu once again, but I suddenly felt that thunderwave. The electricity seemed to have just needed a kick, and I wound up stopping after hitting the Pichu. I couldn't move. I was stuck.

"Thundershock!" With a shout, my opponent shot electricity at me. The attack caused my legs to buckle. I wasn't hurt yet, but I couldn't move... The countdown began.

"Rarity, use refresh!" Andrew told me. I paused but a moment and took a breath. My muscles relaxed, and I felt as though I was cleansed by the air around me.

I stood up on Three. "Now, give 'em another Quick Attack!" I dashed once again, but this time I knocked the Pichu off of his feet. As soon as the little Pokémon stood, Andrew shouted once again. "Now, use bite!" I leapt at the Pichu, teeth bared.

"Double slap!" As soon as I sank my teeth in, I was slapped several time over. When I let go, the little guy managed throw me back a little, though I landed on my feet. At this point, I was panting a little, but my opponent seemed worse off. He panted faster, and his shoulders shook a bit. Could I win this one easier than the last?

"Thunder punch!" Wait, what?

He hit my chest and through me towards my trainer, a surprisingly powerful punch for such a small package. I didn't expect Pichu to know Thunder Punch.

I landed on my back, but quickly rolled to my feet, shaking off the attack with a snort. Still, the Pichu already looked exhausted, and I was just getting started. "Let's finish this off quick, Rarity." Andrew said. "Double-Edge!"

I threw myself, full force, at the Pichu, barreling into him so hard that we both went flying. Ouch! I grunted as I landed hard, rolling a couple feet. I had but a little trouble standing, but the Pichu could not get up in time. The count ended just before he managed to stand.

"The Winner is the competitor!" I walked back to my trainer, my muscles sore from the fight.

Andrew gave my a big hug and scratched my ears. "Great job, Rarity." He said with a smile.

Marie giggled happily as she rubbed my belly and gave me some lemonaid as a treat. A few people came over to congratulate us, but mostly people wanted to pet me. I didn't mind.

Lastly, Mr. Jonas came by. "Well, that was fun, though a little disappointing for myself. I think I am going to turn this cafe into a place welcome for pokémon battles, with some purchases, of course." He smiled.

"Say, how does your Pichu know Thunderpunch?" Andrew asked.

"Oh? You don't know?" He asked. "You see, all pokémon hatched from eggs in the games had specific egg moves if bred from the right parents. That means that every pokémon has at least one egg move. You should look up yours and see what your Eevee might know. That's why my Pichu knows Thunderpunch and Double slap."

As we went to leave, Mr. Jonas called after us; "Oh, hey, as a man who has beaten me fair and square, I offer you to come by and get one free drink any day!"
