Hey guys, I'm back. Sort of. So way back in 2011, I published my first chapter of Werewolves in Hogwarts, not expecting much to happen. Turns out my story was a lot more popular than I would have expected (okay so I only received double digits for comments, followers, and favorites, but that was even WAY more than I had been expecting). I thought that as the years went by, my story's popularity would decrease, but my story's gotten a somewhat steady amount of activity, to this year. A lot of you guys have been mentioning in reviews and private messages that you'd hope I'd continue. Well after six years of persistence, here it is: my unfinished draft of Chapter 2 of Werewolves in Hogwarts.
Sorry to disappoint everyone, but I am not planning on completing this chapter and Werewolves in Hogwarts as a whole. I wrote the first chapter of WiH while in middle school during the peak of my DeviantArt, Teen Wolf, Harry Potter, and "SO RANDOM! XD XD" phase. To get a better picture, that was the time when I would walk around my neighborhood with friends loudly singing Spongebob's "The Campfire Song Song," probably to my neighbors' dismay. Now I am an upperclassman in the undergraduate stage of my college education, and hopefully at least a little less obnoxious. While I'm still a fan of Teen Wolf and Harry Potter, my interests have drifted away from writing fan fiction, which is why I haven't been on this site in half a decade (but surprisingly it still looks more or less exactly how it did in 2011). I was working on this draft in 2012, but never finished it due to my increasing academic workload and extracurricular activities. In order to obtain this draft, I went into the creepy-ass spider-infested storage room in my basement, dusted off and plugged in my old computer (how old you may be wondering? well, to give you a sense, it still runs Windows XP, so there's that), found the file with this draft, and transferred it to my current laptop using a flash drive. All for you guys.
A few additional notes regarding the plot, the way I had things planned, the two kids running onto the train at the last minute in Chapter 1 were going to be Derek and Cora Hale (or maybe Laura Hale? Sorry guys, my memory's failing me), who Mr. Argent had been trying to track at King's Cross. This was going to be revealed later in the story, but that obviously didn't happen. Also, the girl on the train who Stiles mentioned helping to Scott in Chapter 1 was going to be Lydia Martin. Lastly, the kid at the end of this chapter with the smirk was going to be Jackson Whittemore. My original intention was to focus WiH around the Teen Wolf gang's interactions and relationships with Harry Potter's children and that entire generation of witches and wizards who were the children of the OG characters in the Hary Potter series. Since I left this story unfinished, you're all totally free to use your imagination and decide for yourselves what happens to the characters as they adventure through the wizarding world.
So without further ado, I hope you enjoy this draft of Chapter 2! Hopefully it's at least sort of worth the 6 year wait. This concludes my time on this fan fiction website (I will leave my chapters up but I won't be actively posting new stories or anything), so I hope everyone's doing well and I wish you guys the best. Thanks for sticking with me all these years. Your support hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated. ❤️
Chapter 2: New Friends and Foes
Scott was in a daze. As he stepped off the Hogwarts Express he studied his surroundings. The evening had come. Scott noticed a small lake nearby, and he spotted the sun slowly sinking over the horizon in the lake's reflection. He was also able to make out the silhouette of an enormous, grand castle on the other side of the lake. Oh. My. God. This is incredible, thought Scott to himself. Just as he was about to take in the view a little longer, he felt a hard shove.
"For heaven's sake! MOVE IT, YOU STUPID FIRST YEARS!" shouted a boy who had come up right behind Scott and his companions. He had fierce grey eyes and pale blond bangs that had been cut squarely at his eyebrows, which were arched with impatience.
"What? Oh. Sorry…" stammered Scott. He had been so distracted by the stunning view that he had stopped right in the middle of traffic. He exchanged glances with Stiles and Allison, who shared his look of surprise. The boy rolled his eyes.
"C'mon, Scorpius. Leave him alone. He's just a first year," said a taller boy, with short, red hair who was walking by. He was flanked by two other students. One was a boy with longer, jet black hair, and the other was a girl with dark russet hair. All three of them shared the same bright turquoise eyes, varying slightly in shades from blue to green.
"Oh, look. It's the Potter trio. Ooh, I'm scared now," sneered Scorpius, with a snide look on his face.
"Buzz off ," said the girl with the dark russet hair frostily, as she and her companions began to walk away. As she passed Scott and his friends, she gave them a gentler, sympathetic look, and kept walking. The boy named Scorpius gave Scott, Stiles, and Allison a quick glare, and then stalked off.
"Well…I guess that guy woke up on the wrong side of the bed today," commented Stiles. The boy turned back and shot Stiles a death glare.
"Wow, there are some real friendly people here," said Allison sarcastically once the boy was out of earshot. "What was his name again? Scorpio?" she continued.
"Scorpius," answered Scott.
"And who were those other three? They looked like siblings," said Allison.
"Um, I'm not really sure. Scorpius said something about Potters," answered Stiles.
"Wait, aren't those like, the people who make pottery?" asked Scott. Stiles and Allison shared an amused look.
"Yeah, they are," said Stiles, trying to keep a straight face. Allison giggled softly.
"Really?" asked Scott.
"No, not really. We were just messing with you," said Allison playfully. Scott elbowed her teasingly. "Potter's probably just the last name of those three students who stood up for us," she said.
"Hey, where are we going, anyways?" asked Stiles.
"I have no clue. Just follow the crowd," replied Scott.
Just then, the three of them heard a loud, bellowing voice nearby.
"Firs' years, over here! Firs' years, over here!" shouted a great, big man who had scruffy hair and a long beard. He was standing by the lake, surrounded by lots of rowboats that had lanterns attached to them.
"TO THAT BIG GUY!" hollered Stiles as he pointed to the large man in the distance. A few students stopped and turned to look at him.
"Definitely a first year," muttered one guy to his friend as they walked past.
"Uh, Stiles? Let's just start heading over there.." said Scott awkwardly, aware of the students who were still staring at the trio.
"Scott's right. We should just get going," added Allison helpfully. Stiles gave a cheerful shrug.
"Okay then," he said, still unaware of the outcome of his words. They began walking towards the lakeshore, where the large man was standing. The students who had still been staring at Stiles lost their interest and continued walking.
"Hello, there! You three must be firs' years!" said the large man standing by the lake as the trio walked towards the shore.
"Um, yeah. How'd you know?" asked Scott in a puzzled voice.
"Maybe the big guy's been stalking us the whole time!" whispered Stiles urgently into Scott's ear. The large man gave a good-natured chuckle.
"I could tell just by the looks of ya'. Three students who look a little confused, wondering, awestruck… I've been helpin' generations of students cross this lake for longer than yeh bin born. I've got decades of experience decipherin' all of yeh. I'm Hagrid."
"I'm Scott, and this is Stiles and Allison," Scott replied.
"Nice to meet yeh all. Now Just hop into this boat right here and it'll take yeh across the lake ter Hogwarts. Good luck!" Allison was about to thank Hagrid but he had already turned away and was helping the next group of students. The trio was just about to head off when Hagrid came back to them.
"Hey, yeh guys! Can yeh take one more person with you? The boat fits up ter four people. " He showed another student towards Scott's boat.
"Just go with them. Don' worry. The ride only takes a couple of minutes," said Hagrid reassuringly to the newcomer. The newcomer shrugged and gave an indifferent glance at the boat. Scott noticed that his mouth was slightly twitched up into a smirk.
"Fine by me," said the newcomer in a cool tone.
