Recap
"Miyu-nee?" Fuuta stood at the door of her bedroom, rubbing his eyes slightly.
She quickly stood from her chair, taking the headphones off and made her way to the boy. "What's wrong?"
"I can't sleep."
Miyuki glanced back at her computer screen, to see Byakuran had ended the video chat. "Okay, you want to lay in here?" The young boy nodded, staring up at her with bright eyes.
"Okay, let's go to bed."
Fuuta made his way to her bed, laying himself on the side against the wall.
She smiled at him, and moved to the computer to turn it off.
Byakuran
Sweet dreams Miyu-chan~
Byakuran is currently offline.
"You were babysitting three kids with your friend Tsuna yesterday?" Byakuran watched Miyuki as she slightly paced across her bedroom floor. The two were speaking via webcam while Miyuki waits for Shoichi.
"Yeah, the kids are really cute. Tsuna is really kind, though Sho-chan doesn't like him." Miyuki paused to adjust her lavender obi, which happened to match Byakuran's eyes as she had realized earlier. Of course she wasn't about to mention that to the boy, he'd probably say something ridiculous about her unconsciously picking it out because it matched his eyes. There was no way she as thinking of him while picking out her yukata.
Byakuran hummed before replying. "Oh really? Then maybe you shouldn't be friends with him. Miyu-chan, you look really cute~"
She causally turned to glance back at her computer. "Tsunayoshi is a good person, Shoichi doesn't really know him."
"Maybe Sho-chan is jealous."
"That's ridiculous."
"Is it?"
"Of course! Shoichi doesn't like me like that..." Miyuki turned her back to the webcam, she really didn't feel like arguing with Byakuran.
"Do you like Tsunayoshi?" Byakuran's dark tone startled Miyuki, she never imagined that he could sound so threatening. She slowly turned to face the computer once more, her green eyes wide in shock.
"Byakuran?"
Byakuran blinked hearing Miyuki's tone, she's sounded a bit frightened. He reached for a bag of marshmallows off to the side and opened them. After popping one in his mouth he happily held the bag up to his webcam. "Sorry Miyu-chan~ I get grumpy when I go too long without sweets." He pouted a bit at the webcam to make his point before smiling brightly again. "Anyway, of course you don't like this Tsunayoshi, after all, you like Sho-chan right?~"
"I do not!" Miyuki huffed crossing her arms.
Byakuran opened his mouth to tease Miyuki some more, though he was cut off by someone calling her name. She paused glancing towards where Byakuran assumed her bedroom door was and quickly left his view.
"Sho-chan, come here a moment!"
Miyuki stepped back in front of her webcam. "We're gonna leave soon."
"A date?"
Miyuki sighed while replying. "I told you, I'm going with Shoichi and two other friends. It isn't a date."
"I bet you'll get separated from the other two and end up alone with Sho-chan."
"Miyu-chan?" Miyuki turned to see Shoichi in her doorway.
"Hello Sho-chan~" Byakuran cheerfully called out.
"Ignore him." Miyuki spoke before Shoichi could reply.
Byakuran pouted a bit at Miyuki while eating his sweets.
Stepping back towards her bed, Miyuki opened the top drawer of her nightstand pulling out some yen.
"We're leaving now."
"Aren't you going to turn off your webcam?"
"No, I figured I'll leave it up and just let you watch my room until you decide to switch it off."
"Oh? I'll keep it on until you get back home~"
Miyuki rolled her eyes while grabbing Shoichi's arm to pull him from the room.
"Go ahead!" She called switching the light off and shutting her bedroom door.
"I don't know why he always annoys me!"
Miyuki had been pouting during their walk, after a few minutes of Shoichi trying to get her to talk, all her frustration started pouring out. Shoichi stared at the girl as she complained about the white haired boy. He was debating telling her why he thought Byakuran constantly teased her.
"Sho-chan?" Miyuki grabbed his arm tugging him along with her. "Are you okay? You started to fall behind."
"I think Byakuran likes you."
Shoichi felt his eyes widened, and Miyuki's grip on his wrist tightened slightly. Why did he say that? He shouldn't of said anything. He doesn't even know of it's actually true, especially since Byakuran seems to be pairing Miyuki with Shoichi. What if she likes Byakuran? More importantly why does it hurt when he thinks she might actually like Byakuran.
"Well, if he didn't like me, I'd be really upset. I mean, he is one of my best friends. Right after you, of course, Shoichi." Miyuki continued tugging the redhead down the street towards the meeting place.
Shoichi almost sighed in relief, even if she was feigning ignorance, it was better than hearing something else.
"Miyu-chan?"
"Hmm?"
"You look nice today."
"Thanks Sho-chan."
"Miyu-chan!" Miyuki glanced ahead to see Kyoko and Haru waiting for the two at the entrance of the festival.
"You look really cute, Miyu-chan." Kyoko smiled at Miyuki and she stood before them.
"Yeah, it's such a pretty color on you." Haru agreed from beside Kyoko.
"Thanks, you two look amazing."
"Have you seen anyone else? I know Tsuna-kun is suppose to be here with the kids." Shoichi shifted a bit as Miyuki questioned the girls.
"Hahi?! Tsuna-kun is here, I have to let him see me in my Yukata." Before the others could reply, Haru grabbed Kyoko's arm, pulling her into the festival.
Miyuki tensed, noticing the two had left her, left her alone with Shoichi. Just like Byakuran said. Couldn't they at least wait an hour or so to abandon them?
Turning to Shoichi, she opened her mouth to say something, though quickly shut it staring at something behind him in shock. Shoichi glanced over his shoulder to see what had Miyuki speechless. A black haired boy, with a black jacket laid over his shoulders slowly walked towards them.
"Hibari-san." Miyuki finally spoke bowing slightly to him.
"Hn, you better not be crowding herbivore." At that Miyuki tensed and grabbed Shoichi's arm. "N-no, not at all. We were just about to go. Umm, Hibari-san I didn't expect to see you here." Miyuki tried to stay calm as his dark eyes met hers. "The disciplinary committee is collecting protection fees." He continued to the festival, his jacket slightly swaying in the wind.
"Miyu-chan?" Shoichi questioned the girl, her finger nails digging into his arm was becoming quiet painful.
"Huh? Oh! Sorry Sho-chan." Miyuki switched her grip on his arm so she was gently caressing it, instead of digging her nails into his flesh. "Are you okay?" She looked over the small crescent shapes on his arm. At least she didn't draw blood. "I'm okay, are you okay?"
"Oh I'm fine, I was just shocked Hibari-san was here. Usually I can brace myself before seeing him and not act as shocked. I really didn't think he would be here though. We go to the same school." Miyuki frowned a bit, running her fingers over the marks on his arm once more before letting go.
"So, uh, was that a bird sitting on his head?"
"Apparently Hibari likes cute things, we should leave before he comes back and tries to bite us to death."
Shoichi gave the girl a strange look. "Bite us to death?" Was her school full of weirdos? Maybe he should talk to her about transferring.
"Catch me a goldfish?" Miyuki smiled innocently at Shoichi as she ate her takoyaki.
Shoichi turned his full attention to her while frowning. "You know I always break the net."
"Come on, when I finish my takoyaki let's both try." Miyuki glanced down at the food in her hand, she hadn't even ate half of it and was already starting to get full.
"Hey Sho-" She stopped, feeling a small body cling to the bottom half of her yukata. Glancing down, she noticed a small cow clinging to her. "Lambo-kun?" The little cow looked up at her, his bright green eyes full of tears. "Dame-Tsuna won't buy Lambo-san more takoyaki."
"Lambo-kun, won't you get a tummy ache if you eat too much?" She questioned the boy while patting his Afro. His tears suddenly stopped as he moved to look at Miyuki, with a straight face he spoke. "Lambo-san has never had a tummy ache from eating too much." Miyuki blinked a couple times before smiling. "Would you like the rest of my takoyaki?"
Lambo, without missing a beat blinked once and took the food from her. "Gyahahaha, Lambo-san has more takoyaki!" He cheered to himself while running off with her food.
Miyuki giggled to herself watching the little cow disappear into the crowd, turning her attention back to Shoichi she smiled. "Let's go, I wanna try to catch a fish."
The two stood over the small tank, both trying to catch at least one fish. They had already spent more yen at the booth than intended. "Sho-chan, we're really bad at this." Shoichi glanced at Miyuki from the corner of his eye. "Akira-san always had to catch you the fish, since we've always been bad at this." The girl straightened up with a sigh, her net had dissolved in the water again. "Yeah, even Nao-nii is really bad at this. Maybe I can blame my parents genes?" She joked tugging Shoichi away from the booth.
"You're just clumsy."
Frowning she shot the boy a look. "Yeah? So, what's your excuse?" Blushing slightly, Shoichi pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "What do you want to do now?"
Miyuki continued walking, her hand still gripping Shoichi's wrist, tugging him along with her. "Is that Tsuna-kun?"
"Saito!" Miyuki released her hold on Shoichi and turned to the silver haired teen calling to her. "Buy a chocolate covered banana!"
"Uhh, sorry Gokudera-kun, I don't like bananas." Miyuki smiled apologetically.
Gokudera huffed. "Then what are you doing standing here? You're blocking our stand go away." He attempted to shoo the girl.
"Gokudera-kun, don't be rude to Miyu-chan." Tsuna gently scolded.
"Haha, hey, Miyu-chan." Yamamoto waved.
Shoichi took a step closer to Miyuki, watching the three boys carefully.
"Tsuna-kun, I didn't know you would be running a booth. I ran into Lambo-kun a little while ago."
"I didn't know I would be either."
"Well, have you seen Kyoko-chan and Haru-chan yet? We were abandoned by them at the entrance." Tsuna's eyes lit up at the mention of Kyoko, clearly, he was daydreaming about her again.
"They haven't stopped by yet." Yamamoto answered for Tsuna.
"I'm sure they'll be here soon. Maybe they'll get a banana? Anyway, I'll see you guys later." Miyuki glanced at Shoichi, he'd been fidgeting since they walked up to the stand.
"This has been an interesting summer, don't you think so?" Miyuki questioned. The two were sitting in a small opening away from the festival to watch the fireworks. Shoichi turned to give her an exasperated look. "I never got the chance to ask mom about her trip with Tsuna's mother, they probably became best friends or something." Miyuki laughed to herself. "Tsunayoshi really is a good person, if you give him a chance. I know the few times you met him before were, well, awkward. But, he is pretty amazing." Shoichi glanced away from Miyuki. Why would she think he is amazing? Shoichi didn't see anything about the boy that would be considered 'amazing'. Miyuki started to speak again but was cut off by a new text.
'So, did you and Sho-chan get separated from the other two?'
There was no way she was going to tell Byakuran the truth. Especially that they were separated at the very beginning and didn't find them again to meet back up. There is two things that Miyuki will keep from Byakuran about this night. The first being her and Shoichi actually did get separated. The second, she wished Byakuran could've been sitting with them right now. She can live without him mocking her about those things.
'Nope.'
Miyuki jumped a bit hearing the first of the fireworks start to go off. Glancing up at the bright colors filling the night sky, she smiled. "This is the perfect way to end summer." Shoichi turned to Miyuki, seeing the glow of the fireworks light up her features perfectly, he couldn't help but agree.
I'm sorry! It's been a month, but I've been really busy. I'm moving to China in August so I've been prepping everything. Thank you to everyone was reviewed last time. Thanks to everyone who favorites and follows this story! They have been some comments about the final pairing, I haven't actually decided who Miyuki will end up with. So as time goes on I want to hear who you would like Miyuki with. Or I might even do three different endings for it. Don't worry though, that won't be for awhile. (Obviously) So please review and tell me what you think.
