Recap
"So, give it a try." The red head encouraged her, though she noticed he took quite a few steps back. "I'm not sure what to do..." She mumbled lifting the staff up and stepping away from the box. "Just give it a try, it doesn't have to be perfect."
"If you say so..."
She should've known it would've happened, Akira was too pleased with himself about the gift, he'd even stepped away from her! Regardless thinking about the past didn't help her and she held her head in pain. She followed his instructions and gave it a try, the problem was it decided to come back and hit her in the head. It wasn't a soft tap either. So now while Miyuki is on the ground in pain, Akira is standing over her laughing.
"I hate you!" She called out over the painful ringing in her head.
"Ahaha, I'm sorry."
"Liar!"
"Okay, but we need to start your training with the staff now. Stand up, if you want I brought some protective gear."
"I really hate you." She mumbled still on the ground.
"What happened to you?" Miyuki stared horrified at the boys before her, she had only been gone a week, why did they look so bad?
"Hehe, nothing we were just..." Tsuna trailed off trying to think of a believable excuse for their appearance. "While you were away Vongola's independent assassination squad the Varia came and fought with them for the rights become the tenth generation, Tsuna and his guardians won." Reborn appeared answering the question.
"Assassins?!" Miyuki cried staring at the boys once more.
Reborn moved to kick Miyuki in the head, unfortunately for her it was in the same spot she'd hit herself with the staff. "Why are you surprised, it's the mafia." Reborn scolded her. Reborn and Akira would be great friends, Miyuki was sure of it.
"Miyu-chan~ can I tell you a secret." Miyuki glanced at Byakuran while biting her apple. "I'm not telling you any of mine." She mumbled after swallowing.
Byakuran chuckled to himself but continued with his secret. "I love you, Miyuki. You're the most important person to me in the world. Even ten years from now, my views will never change." The brunette turned towards the webcam giving the boy a look mixed between confusion and annoyance.
"What do you want?" She accused.
"I can't tell my friend how much they mean to me?" Byakuran pouted through the screen. Miyuki just stared back unimpressed.
"Don't stress about it Miyu-chan, I'm just telling you how important you are to me."
"Why would I be stressed about it? I've learned not to take anything you say too seriously by now." Miyuki grumbled under her breath.
"How's Sho-chan?" Miyuki flinched at the sound of his name and looked away from Byakuran, not noticing the almost cruel smirk he wore. "Miyu-chan?" He called, his voice dripping with concern, well fake concern, but Miyuki wouldn't be able to tell.
She sighed and turned back to the computer screen. "I don't know, he's been avoiding me the past few days. I'm worried about him."
"I'm sure it's nothing, maybe he's just working on a robot? Or trying to get a band together?" Byakuran spoke soothingly.
"He's never ignored me before..."
Byakuran wanted to scoff at how broken she sounded while speaking of the red head. Instead more soothing words escaped his lips.
"Miyu-chan, I'm sure it's not intentionally. Don't overthink it."
"Yeah, hey, I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later. Bye."
Without waiting for a response Miyuki ended the call.
Miyuki stared at the kitchen table, her apples were gone. Who would take someone's apples? That was suppose to be her lunch! Sure, she could cook herself and her mother would have a fit if she found out Miyuki only had apples for lunch, but still! While Miyuki glared at the tables wooden surface, like the table itself ate her apples, there was a knock on the door. "I wonder if it's the apple thief." She mumbled going to answer it.
"Shoichi?" The red head looked guilty, refusing to look Miyuki in the eye. "M-Miyuki, I'm s-sorry." The boy stuttered while staring down at his shoes.
"Sorry for what? Do you have something behind your back...Shoichi?"
The concern in her tone made him feel worst. He didn't know what would happen, nobody else had came back yet. His stomach started to knot in pain as tears filled his eyes.
Finally he looked up to meet her eyes. "I'm so sorry." Before she could question why, there was a purple bazooka in front of her face.
"Where am I?" Miyuki glanced around, she stood in the middle of a beautiful garden, filled with purple flowers of all kinds. Before her a small stone pathway lead further into the garden. "What? Am I in the future." She frowned staring at the white stones beneath her feet. Why would Shoichi shot her with Lambo's bazooka? How did he even have it? Did he know it would bring her to the future, or was he trying to hurt her. Her heart clinched painfully at the though of him wanting to hurt her. No, Shoichi may've been acting strange recently but they are best friends. He would never intentionally hurt her, or anyone for that matter.
"I guess I should see where I am? I wonder what my future self was doing here?"
Mumbling to herself she tried to walk further down the path when someone grabbed her from behind. "Ahhh!" She screamed and turned to punch the person who had her arm. "Ow, Miyu-chan, why are you always so violent?" The voice seemed familiar in a way, yet unfamiliar at the same time. Quickly she looked up to see a white haired man before her. "Who- who are you? How do you know my name?!" Jerking her arm away from the man she took a few steps back. She stared at the man before her in shock. Even ten years in the future he was still around.
"Miyu-chan..." She rolled her eyes seeing a familiar pout. He didn't look that much different. He had grown taller and his voice was deeper but other than that he hadn't really changed.
"Byakuran?"
"Yes."
"You haven't changed at all. All you did was get taller, and you're still wearing all white. Is that normal? I don't think it's normal to stay the same for ten years."
"It is normal. Anyway, if I changed too much you wouldn't be able up recognize me."
"You didn't stay the same for ten years for the sole purpose of me recognizing you?" Giving him a unimpressed look she tried to get a real answer. "Are you afraid of change?"
"No."
"Well, if you say so..." She gave him a disbelieving look before questioning him again."Where am I?"
"The future."
"Yes, but, where am I?" She gestured to the garden around them.
"Just a garden, Miyu-chan, you should come with me." His answer held no hesitation as he grinned at her.
"Oh, can I walk down that path?" She pointed behind her. "It's so pretty here, I want to look around."
"No." His smile faltered.
"But-"
"Miyuki." His tone darkened, his expression matching his tone. "Please." She froze under his gaze, he wasn't asking her. He wasn't giving her any choice.
"You have changed."
"I need to protect you. Let's go."
Miyuki glanced at the long pathway. He truly had changed and until she got a better grasp of his new personality she realized she had to other choice but to comply.
Naohiko glanced at the three young boys before him within the base. He frowned before questioning softly. "Will she come?" Reborn lowered his fedora. "Kyoko and Haru are here. I'd be surprised if she doesn't." Naohiko's eyes hardened. "Then why are we just sitting here? We need to get to her before he does."
"Naohiko, wait." Reborn demanded.
"If he gets her first..." Naohiko trailed off his expression grim.
"He won't hurt her, she'll be safe either way."
"That's not the point! She needs to know the truth."
Naohiko knew he wouldn't ever hurt Miyuki. However, he would happily fill her head with lies about what happened. Byakuran blamed Tsunayoshi for what happened, and even though Naohiko also blamed him for months it was never his fault. Miyuki needed to hear the truth about what happened. Byakuran doesn't have the truth, if he did, would this even be happening?
"I'm going." Naohiko turned to look Reborn in the eye. "I need to know if she's here."
I'm sorry I took so long to update! I switched job and moved again. Having to get use to teaching new students with completely different methods and at least 40 students per class. I'm on summer vacation now. My mom came to visit me July 1st. She'll be here until the 15. I've been trying to show her around everywhere. She doesn't seem to like real chinese food though. Anyway what did you think of this chapter? It's a bit shorter than I usually have them, sorry about that. Please review, what do you think of Miyuki? It's about to get more interesting. I wanted to add more to this chapter but I think this is a good ending point for it. Also sorry about the first time I uploaded when it messed up. I updated my iPad to the new iOS and it's been causing me problems. It's a bit of a filler chapter but I promise the next is going to really get into the future ark.
