Recap

"Miyuki." His tone darkened, his expression matching his tone. "Please." She froze under his gaze, he wasn't asking her. He wasn't giving her any choice.

"You have changed."

"I need to protect you. Let's go."

Miyuki glanced at the long pathway. He truly had changed and until she got a better grasp of his new personality she realized she had to other choice but to comply.

Naohiko glanced at the three young boys before him within the base. He frowned before questioning softly. "Will she come?" Reborn lowered his fedora. "Kyoko and Haru are here. I'd be surprised if she doesn't." Naohiko's eyes hardened. "Then why are we just sitting here? We need to get to her before he does."

"Naohiko, wait." Reborn demanded.

"If he gets her first..." Naohiko trailed off his expression grim.

"He won't hurt her, she'll be safe either way."

"That's not the point! She needs to know the truth."

Naohiko knew he wouldn't ever hurt Miyuki. However, he would happily fill her head with lies about what happened. Byakuran blamed Tsunayoshi for what happened, and even though Naohiko also blamed him for months it was never his fault. Miyuki needed to hear the truth about what happened. Byakuran doesn't have the truth, if he did, would this even be happening?

"I'm going." Naohiko turned to look Reborn in the eye. "I need to know if she's here."

Miyuki kept glancing around the kitchen, she didn't know how she should feel about being here. Byakuran, even though he was ten years older, still acted a lot like the Byakuran of her time. However, there seemed to be a darkness about him she couldn't quite put her finger on. She frowned, it worried her. "I've been here two hours now, I should've only been here ten minutes. Do you know why I'm still here? Or when I will leave." The Byakuran of this time seemed to know a lot, though getting answers she feared would be difficult.

"You've only been here two hours and you already want to leave?" His tone was amused and he wore a teasing smile, though for a moment pain seemed to flash through his eyes causing the brunette to frown again. She wasn't sure what had happened to Byakuran during these ten years, she needed answers. "Tell me about myself." She mumbled ignoring his teasing. With a chuckle the man answered. "Well, you are fourteen-" Miyuki slapped her hands on the table. She was tired of him beating around the bush. He knew exactly what she had meant. She slid her hands to grip the edge of the table, her knuckles growing white. "Tell me about myself in this time." Byakuran's face turned grim. "I wanted you to settle in a bit more before we had this conversation. Follow me."

He led her through the mansion, with all the turns even if she had been paying attention she would surely be lost later trying to navigate. She didn't pay much attention to the surroundings however, instead she watched the man a few steps ahead of her. His shoulders were tense, he didn't want her to know whatever her future was. Finally they arrived to their destination. It was a door like all the others, nothing seemed special about it from the outside. Byakuran paused with his palm on the handle glancing back at her once more before opening it.

Miyuki stepped into the room, it was white with purple accent colors. As she glanced around the room she noticed something. "This is my room." It wasn't a question. This had to be her room. Byakuran didn't answer, instead he silently watched her walk to a corner that held her purple Bo staff. It clearly had been worn with age. "I live with you?"

"lived."

"I moved?"

Miyuki almost cringed at the comment, clearly it was more serious than that.

Byakuran didn't reply, instead he turned to the bed and sat down on the purple quilt. He looked up, purple meeting green.

"Sit."

She complied.

"They didn't trust you." He frowned glaring at the carpet.

"Who didn't-"

"Vongola."

Her eyes widened in shock. Reborn always spoke about the mafia and Tsuna taking over as head of the family. Sure they had been through some weird things but she had never been sure how true everything was at that point.

"They dragged you into it. Reborn dragged you into it. Eventually they grew paranoid of our relationship. With me and Shoichi. Our bond worried them. However, they never truly spoke to you about it, they didn't even give you a chance to explain. Instead they sent you on a mission. Telling you the future of the family is on your shoulders. If you fail it could ruin the vongola. It was a suicide mission. They sent you knowing you wouldn't return home. That was two years ago."

Miyuki watched as his expression changed from pain to hatred.

"There has to be a mistake." Tsuna's kind smile flashed through her mind. They were friends. Tsuna wouldn't let anyone get hurt if he could prevent it. If she was still with them even in the future surely that means their bond just grew stronger. Miyuki's hands started to shake. She didn't want to believe it. Though, Byakuran is one of her closest friends.

"No. I don't understand. Why? Why would they be upset about me being close to you? Even if you are also in the mafia. What reason would they have to mistrust you?" She wanted to make sense of everything. These were her friends.

"In the mafia world if someone isn't your ally it's best to assume they are an enemy."

Byakuran moved his hand to catch the tears falling from Miyuki's eyes. Her eyes widened in shock, she hadn't realized she was crying. "I promise, I'll keep you safe during your time here. I won't let them hurt you again." Byakuran whispered wiping the tears from her eyes.

"Sho-chan!" Miyuki grinned at the screen before her.

"M-Miyuki." His shocked expression quickly softened. He still missed her everyday. He had forgotten the way she said his name. Little things like that he tried his best to remember though time is cruel, and her voice slowly started to fade from his memories.

"You look so grown up! Wow, I can't believe this. And you're in the mafia! I would've never thought you'd follow a path like this..." He closed his eyes letting her rambling sink in. He always knew they were best friends, however, losing her was like losing a large part of himself. He opened his eyes, she was still rambling and moving her arms in wild gestures. Her brown locks falling into her face every few seconds, she pushed them back to show her emerald orbs, full of life.

"When can I see you? Like in person. I mean face to face." She continued rambling.

"Soon." Byakuran answered the question.

Shoichi turned his attention to Byakuran now. "Are you coming to Namimori then?"

"No. At least not now. I'll have a jet ready for you in the morning. You can take a short break to visit. Miyuki has taken in a lot of information. I'm sure she needs her best friend at the moment." Byakuran's eyes narrowed at the screen.

Shoichi knocked once on the bedroom door. After the long flight from Namimori he should've been exhausted but all he felt was nervousness. He groaned placing his hands over his stomach. Miyuki was defiantly going to tease him.

The door flew open and Miyuki stood in the opening wide eyed. "You look so mature!" She grinned, then noticed his position and giggled. "Well, I guess some things will never change." She pulled him to the room.

"I can't believe you're so old. I mean you're still young but-" she paused realization crossing her features. "It was you." She frowned causing him to mirror her. "What was me?"

"You brought me to this time."

He blinked frowning more.

"Miyuki, I don't know what you're talking about."

She stepped in front of him. It was a little harder to seem stern since he was so much taller than her now but it didn't stop her from trying.

"The bazooka, you brought me to this time."

"I'm sorry, but I really don't know what you are talking about. I didn't do anything."

"Oh, never mind. I guess I'm just rambling."

"Miyuki, what did you see before you got here?"

"Nothing really, I just don't understand why I'm here."

She moved towards her bed, laying back onto it relaxing. "I'm dead."

Shoichi moved to sit beside her, a frown married his face.

"Yes."

"Because of the mission I did for the vongola?"

"Yes."

"I'm sorry." Miyuki sighed staring at her ceiling.

Shoichi turned to her in shock. "It's not your fault. You shouldn't apologize-"

"I hurt you, I hurt Byakuran. I don't know the details of what happened. There are three sides to every story. In this case Byakuran's side, which I've heard. Tsuna's side which I haven't heard yet. Then there is my side, which we will never hear. I don't want to believe that Tsuna sent me to my death. But I've been thinking about it. I don't know who I had become. Everyone changes in time. You've changed, Byakuran's changed. Maybe Tsuna did send me to my death. Maybe because of my close friendship with someone who they couldn't be sure was enemy or not. I don't have the experience you guys have. I'm still learning how the world works. I'm sure I was more wise about the world before I died. I don't want to hate Tsuna. But, I've been told he sent me alone. I don't know much about the mafia because I'm still new to everything but that sounds strange. Even when Byakuran orders his people. They are never alone. Well, I can't judge a situation I know nothing about. But I'm sorry I hurt you. Can I ask you something?"

Shoichi nodded, the pain filled his chest. He missed her so much. He had forgotten even at a young age she was pretty reasonable about things.

"What kind of person was I?"

Silent tears fell from his eyes as he looked away.

"An amazing person. Please never doubt that about yourself. Though you matured you didn't change much personality wise. Often you were a voice a reason." Shoichi frowned and mumbled to himself. "You were his voice of reason."

"Just please, stay safe during your time here. Though I'm sure Byakuran wouldn't put you in harms way." Shoichi smiled down at Miyuki.

"Do you believe that Tsunayoshi sent me on that mission to die?"

The question shocked Shoichi. His eyes widened as he glanced around the room trying to find the right words.

"I don't know. It's hard to imagine that someone you've known so long to actually do that to you. However, I don't know him. Do it's hard to say what he's capable of."

Miyuki stared blankly at the wall. "Do you blame him?"

With that Shoichi let out a bitter laugh.

"Everyone blamed him."

Silence washed over them. She didn't really know how to respond to that. Who is included in everyone? Even members of the vongola? Her family? Miyuki's eyes widened and she quickly turned to Shoichi.

"Do you know how my family is?"

Miyuki frowned. She not believing she hadn't thought to ask about them before this moment.

"Don't worry. They are safe. We should go down for dinner, I was told bring you down I guess we are a little late."

"Oh. About Tsuna's side of the story." Shoichi paused after he stood from the bed. "I don't think you'll ever hear that side from him."

"Why?"

"He's gone too."

Well, I had thought this would be out sooner. But life got in the way and I'm actually surprised I just finished this chapter today. September 25 my puppy passed away. I'm still really upset about it. He was so young. I tried to save him. Went to the vet and I just hate the people who sold him to me. With cheap medicine given to him he could've easily lived. But the cheap assholes didn't. Of course I didn't know. I took him for his first shots but he was sick. They gave him medicine and everything it was something that could've easily been avoided. Now I just want to go and scream at them telling them how horrible they are and just ugh. Sadly my chinese isn't at the level where I can tell someone I hope the japanese are right about animal abusers having a special hell just for them to be tortured for hurting animals. Sure Caesar wasnt abused but it was something so simple that could've avoided this. He didn't deserve that he was just a baby. I'm sorry about my rant but it hurts. Anyway please review and thank you for reading and following. I used to update this chapter every couple of weeks but since I got a life I've been slower, I'm sorry. Also I'm thinking about going and rewriting some chapters. Some I think are 'ehhh' sorry about anything that might be messed up. It's giving me so much trouble to publish the story.
