"If you vampires try to attack me, I will purify you. Kilala, protect Kaien and Zero." Said demon inclined her head. "Rima, scan the trees. There's a Level E out here too." She looked at Tagari and smirked. "So much for lasting three weeks, huh?"
Kaien grabbed her arm as she headed to the woods, "you're expecting injury?"
She smiled at him, "it's inevitable with a shadow demon, Kaien, but with multiple? Unavoidable. Kilala, if I am not conscious, call Sesshomaru. Keep humans out of my room, and for gods sake, keep me unconscious." She cupped Kaien's face gently, before leaving.
Rima took care of the level E.
Kaname and Shippo returned with Yuki and two humans.
Shippo asked, "where is she?"
Kilala pointed to the woods.
"She's a fool," said Ruka.
"She has someone she wants to protect above all others," contradicted Kaname. "She doesn't care about injury, so long as he is protected."
Yuki held onto Kaname.
A flash of pink appeared, and Kaien stepped forward. "Kagome…"
Sesshomaru, who had just arrived, said, "you should not be heading to her Kaien. She'll have no control over her actions."
He bowed his head.
Sesshomaru headed into the woods and emerged with an unconscious Kagome. Sesshomaru stopped briefly by Kaien. "You should tell her soon, Kaien." He nodded, even as Sesshomaru headed to Kagome's room, to get her fed.
A week later, Kagome was up and moving about as if nothing had happened, though with a few new scars.
Kaien sat in his chair, looking out the window, watching Kagome, remembering what Sesshomaru said.
The day after the attack, Kaien was sitting at his desk, worrying over Kagome, and didn't hear the knock on the door or the door opening.
"You know," Kaien startled at the voice, "you should tell her soon how you feel. She won't wait forever. If there is ever a time you feel the need to be the one feeding her, go to her." With that said, Sesshomaru left, leaving behind a confused Kaien.
A month later, everything was relatively calm. Kaien was looking out the window and saw Kagome sitting by the fountain. He stood and headed out to her. He placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump, spinning, only to see the person she was thinking about. "I love you," she gasped and covered her mouth, before lowering them. "Forgive me Kaien, that was uncalled for. Excuse me."
She turned to walk away but Kaien grabbed her wrist. "How long?"
She didn't answer. "How long, Kagome, have you loved me?"
She whispered softly, so softly he had to strain to hear her. "Before you left."
He pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her waist. "I love you too, Kagome. I've wanted to tell you for so long, but I couldn't stand the thought of rejection. Sesshomaru told me to tell you."
She turned in his arms. "What?"
He nodded once, "he told me a month ago to tell you I love you, but I just thought he was weird."
She laid her forehead on his chest, "Sesshomaru knew that I loved you Kaien. He's known since you went on your journey." She inhaled, before pulling away, only to be puled back to him.
"What's wrong Kags?"
She said, exhaling, "smell too good."
His eyes widened, remembering that its been a month since she fed, and also Sesshomaru's words. If there is ever a time when you feel the need to be the one feeding her, go to her. He pulled her closer and held her in an unbreakable hold. "Baby, Kags, I want you to feed."
She jerked her head up to his. "What?"
"Feed on my blood."
She tried to pull away. "Don't joke like this Kaien!"
He tilted her head up. "I'm not kidding Kagome. I want you to feed from me. I want my blood running through your veins, nourishing you."
She stilled, searching his eyes. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure Kagome." He sat on the fountain, with her in his lap.
She nuzzled her face into his neck. He sighed.
She moved her lips over his neck.
He cupped the back of her head.
She locked eyes with him, and sank her fangs into his neck, causing him to close his eyes in pleasure.
The Night Class stood upon smelling blood.
"Sit," Kaname ordered.
Ruka said, "but Headmaster Cross is bleeding."
Kaname shook his head, "he is getting his wish." He smiled slightly, "Kagome is feeding."
Aido got up, getting ready to stop her.
"Be still Aido. She is making her claim."
They were all confused.
He shook his head. "You are fools. They've been in love for a long time. They just now have done anything about it."
Tagari asked, "what do you mean?"
Kaname looked at him, "Kagome would not feed on Kaien without his permission. For her to be doing so, meant that he gave her permission. Those two met two hundred years ago…"
"Bad Kaname…" they all looked towards the door, to see Kaien holding an unconscious Kagome.
Kaname stood quickly. "Is she harmed?"
He shook his head, "no, she's just tired. She's been fighting herself for a while, Kaname, for my blood, and just blood in general."
"Meaning?"
"She didn't want to call Sesshomaru again after so short a time…"
He sat with her on his lap. "So instead of calling him, she let herself suffer."
Kaname's eyes narrowed, "for how long?"
"Two weeks."
Kaname hissed, "She made herself suffer for two weeks because she didn't want a lecture on management?"
They heard a new voice, "no, she tormented herself to help me train."
They looked and saw Kilala and Zero.
Kaname demanded, "shouldn't you be helping Yuki?"
"I'm fine, Kaname." She stepped into the doorway.
"What us this, a gathering?" Kaname chuckled, and held his hand out to her.
Yuki blushed, but took it.
"How did you and Kagome meet?"
He chuckled. "Oh my, I haven't thought about that in a while. Hm, lets see…"
"It was two hundred years ago. I was bored with wars and politics and weary of life, but, because of what happened to Juri and Haru, I decided not to sleep again. Well, imagine my surprise when I saw a supposed human male fighting an ogre. Poor dear, didn't even realize it hit, until he tried to swing at him again. Anyways, I was intrigued so I decided to save him."
Kaien spoke, "ugliest beast I've ever seen." He shuddered. "Anyways, I was fighting this beast, getting ready to be pumbled, when a pink whip appeared, latching onto the ogre's arm. Imagine my surprise to see a beautiful female on the other end. I watched as she drew the sword and did something I never knew possible; she used the swords ability."
She chuckled, "well the ogre disintegrated quickly."
Kaien looked at her. He brushed the hair from her eyes, causing her to lean into the touch and purr.
Kaname smiled, "so, Kagome, your beasts have chosen." Everyone looked at him, confused, save Kagome and Kilala. Kaname nodded his head in her direction, "she's purring, isn't she?" they nodded, "for demons and some vampires, that is an indication that their beast has chosen a mate. Finally, after five hundred years of being single, she has chosen."
She shook her head, "my beasts had chosen two hundred years ago, Kaname, but who was I to stop Kaien from leaving, going on his adventure, and leading his life? I heard my beasts purr as he was leaving, and knew no other would do. I didn't think I'd see again, until I heard mama mention Cross Academy, and I knew I would."
Yuki asked, "how'd you know it was him and not someone else?"
Kagome smiled at the girl. "Because I remembered his dream." She looked confused, causing Kagome to laugh. "He dreamed of a place where Vampires and Human could co-exist. He told me once that should he ever find that place, he would call it Cross Academy."
Ruka said, "liar."
Kagome said, "my memory doesn't lie, yours, however, might, as you're obsessed with Kaname."
She screeched and launched herself at Kagome, only for her to find herself in a barrier. "I don't have the will or the want to deal with you today, Ruka. Continue with his immature behavior," her eyes flashed pink, "and find out why I'm known as the Shikon no Miko."
Everyone froze, save Kaname, Zero, Kilala, and Kaien.
Shiki asked, monotone, "this is why you told us she is our greatest enemy, but also our greatest ally?"
He nodded once, to which Kagome arched a brow at him, and he held up his hands, "that's all I told them!"
She chuckled then purred. She buried her nose into his neck, placing a kiss on her mark.
Kilala laughed, causing everyone to look at her. "You proud he bears your mark?"
She nodded, "he's also better protected now too Kilala. Should anyone try to attack him," her eyes flashed, "I'll rip them to pieces and then purify them."
Kaname chuckled. "Already devising torture plans for any who touch your Kaien?"
She arched a brow at him, "And you aren't?"
He inclined his head.
Kagome stood, causing Kaien to whimper, and say, "Kaien, I'm bored. Being in a class that you already know is boring. Besides, I either lived through it or know someone who lived through it."
He raised a brow, "Sesshomaru?" He nodded, "he tell you everything?"
She nodded, "besides, as Tagari said a month ago, I was a part of the Demon Council. I was also part of the Vampire Hunter Association."
His head snapped up, "when?"'
She leaned over and said, "a few decades ago." She brushed her lips over his, "my fangless vampire," before straightening. "Got to go find some humans who are heading this way." She headed to the door, "coming Kaien?" she asked, before disappearing.
He groaned, before standing, "she's a brat." He said, before leaving.
Kaname chuckled at his suffering.
Ruka took to glaring at Yuki, who was still holding Kaname's hand.
"Yeow!" Everyone looked at Ruka, who looked around, then out the window.
She saw Kagome silently conveying, I got my eyes on you. She harrumphed and turned around.
Kaname inclined his head.
She nodded before grabbing Kaien's arm.
The days flew by and before anyone knew it, it was time for break. Kagome didn't want to go home, but Kaien insisted that she go visit Sesshomaru. She kissed him repeatedly, not wanting to leave him.
"MAMA! Come on! Fluffy is waiting on us!"
She kissed him again, before backing away. "I love you."
"Love you too." She walked away and her hand flew to her heart, just as his had. She got in the car and looked out towards him.
Kaname appeared behind him when the car was gone. "You okay?"
He shook his head, "didn't want to see her go." He left.
Upon arriving at the castle, Kagome just sat in the car. Shippo went to get Sesshomaru. "Sess? I need your help."
He appeared next to him, "what is it?"
"Mama won't get out of the car."
His eyes furrowed, "has she said anything?"
Shippo shook his head, "no, all she's doing is holding her chest?"
Sesshomaru hurried out to her, "Kagome, tell me what's wrong?"
She looked at him, "my chest hurts."
He took her hand, "how long has it hurt?"
"Since I left his side."
"As in left the school?"
She shook her head, "Arms reach."
His eyes widened. He picked her up and carried her inside.
Two days later, she still hasn't done much of anything. Everyone was worried about her.
Suddenly, they saw her fly out the door.
Sesshomaru caught her.
She struggled. "let go Sess!"
"What has you in such a hurry?"
"Somethings wrong with Kaien! Let go!"
He released her and she took off, everyone following. She got there quickly, to see him on the ground, injured. "Baby…" she hugged him to her.
He blinked open his eyes, staring at her blearily. "Kags?"
"Yes baby, what happened?"
He pushed her away, struggling to get up.
She sat there and started shaking, "Kagome!"
Her back arched and she transformed, towering over them. She looked at Kaien tearfully, before heading off into the direction of the woods.
Sesshomaru knelt beside him and asked, "what happened here Kaien?" Sesshomaru helped him sit up.
"Shad…ow demon. Help me up Sess. I need to go after her."
Sesshomaru shook his head, "you rejected her help, Kaien."
"How the hell did I do that?!"
"When you pushed her away."
Kaname came over, "what's going on? I felt a stampede before it disappeared."
"Kagome sensed that Kaien was in danger and came here. Now, she's transformed and running after his attackers."
"What attacked him?"
"Shadow Demons."
"She wants to get killed? Why?"
Sess shrugged. "Because instead of explaining the situation to her, Kaien pushed her away, most likely to protect her. However, she saw it as a rejection and gave up. Unless Kaien can convince her that he wasn't rejecting her, she more than likely go to sleep."
Kaname shook his head, "no she won't."
"Why do you say that?"
"She doesn't break her promises."
"She made you a promise."
"To protect Yuki."
Sess looked at him. "She promised to protect Yuki?"
He nodded, "just as I promised to protect Kaien."
Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed, "when?"
"When she first arrived."
They heard an inhuman scream, one after the other.
A few hours later, a human, bloody Kagome came out, her eyes glowing red.
Sesshomaru hugged her. "You drain them?"
She snorted, "sure, if I wanted to become a shadow demon."
He pulled away and took in her appearance. He traced her jaw. "You have new scars."
She shrugged, "I lost control. I overrated, especially when emotions are involved."
Kaname asked softly, "what caused you to snap?"
"Other than being pushed away?" he nodded, "Being away from him. Why do you think it took so long to pry me away from him? Why do you think I haven't functioned properly in the two and a half days we've been separated? My beasts have been whimpering in pain and loss since out of arms reached. They want so badly to go to him, but don't know if he'll accept it."
Kaien took one step forward, then another, then another, before gathering her in his arms.
She squeezed tightly, causing him to gasp. She pulled away, even as the others left.
"Forgive me Kaien. I hadn't meant to hurt you."
He gathered her back in his arms. "You didn't honey. Just my wounds, baby.."
She stepped back, causing him to glance at her, confused and slightly hurt. She stepped forward but kept his arms by his side.
She leaned down, keeping her eyes locked with is and licked the wounds, cleansing it and healing it at the same time. His skin tingled, causing him to shiver. As she finishied the last one, he pulled her up and kissed her, hard.
She flung her arms around his neck and kissed him back just as hard. She broke the kiss, letting him breathe, and attacked his neck.
He tilted his head to the side, giving her better access to his neck, "gods woman, I love you,"
"I love you too Kaien."
"Do it baby."
She swirled her tongue around where she was going to bite.
"What's this? Little miss Kagome getting it on with an old man?"
Kagome growled, "fuck off Bentley."
The man, now known as Bentley, folded his arms and said, "I don't want to. You refused my advances but not his? How screwed up is that?"
"Bentley, if you don't go away in three seconds, I'm going to hurt you." He snorted, "three…two…one" and before he could move, she ripped his hand off, causing him to scream, and everyone to run out. "Now, if you don't leave in another three seconds, I'm going to rip your head off, and I don't mean the one on your shoulders. Now, three…two…" he took off, leaving his hand.
She looked at the men, and they didn't know whether to laugh, or cover themselves.
"Laugh, I wouldn't harm y'all, well Sesshomaru, maybe, but other that no." she walked back over to Kaien, cupped his face, and kissed him.
He closed his eyes in pleasure before pulling away, taking her hand.
"So what do we do now?"
Kaname looked at him curiously.
Sesshomaru said, "Jaken," to which a little green imp came over to him.
"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru?"
"Head to the castle, get one of the guards to help you, and ready our bags. We are moving here for a little while."
Jaken asked, perturbed, "but why milord?"
Sesshomaru looked at Kaien and Kagome, "to reunite the Lost Lovers."
Everyone looked at him.
Zero asked, "what are the Lost Lovers?"
"Eons ago, there was a coupld. They loved each other so much that they promised. Back in those days, you make a promise, the Gods will hold you to it. And the Gods, excited at the union between the couple, decided that they would be reunited each lifetime, in a form similar to their original. When the Gods decided it was time to unite them for eternity, without having to go through the endless cycle, they would make the couple immortal, anyway possible, thus the reason Kaien is a Fangless Vampire and Kagome is the Shikon Miko, Vampire Demon."
They looked at Kaien and Kagome, to see them staring each other in the eyes.
Sesshomaru chuckled, "see, even now they are lost in each other."
"Be quiet Sess. I know where you live and your password."
"Not if I changed it."
She looked at him, "it wouldn't take long to figure out the code, Sess, as I made the system."
Kaien snapped his head toward her, "you made the system?"
She nodded, twirling her hair between her fingers, "I was bored."
He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her.
Shippo pulled them apart, causing them to growl at him.
He jumped away from them.
Kagome laid her head on Kaien's chest. "Sorry Ship, but you should know better."
He bowed his head, "sorry mama." He inclined his head and headed in. They soon followed him.
Quicker than anyone thought possible the break flew by and it was time to resume classes.
The Night Class had noticed Shiki's oddness, but said nothing.
Kagome decided she would mention it to Kaname later.
As the class rolled on, Kagome stood and headed towards the door, nobody even trying to stop her. She wrapped her arms around Kaien, who jumped. "Baby, something bad is coming this way."
He placed his hands over hers. "I know." He turned to face her, kissing her gently. "I love you Kagome, so damn much."
"I love you too." She kissed him harder. "So, honey, what should we do after this battle is over?"
Kaien looked at her, "how can you be sure it's a battle?"
She explained about Shiki's oddness. "And this feeling I have. I only get when a battle's heading our way. Its why I was named Second-in-Command."
They sat in silence for a few minutes before Kaien abruptly said, "picnic." She looked at him, confused. He brushed his hand over her face, "after this war, we go on a picnic, just you and me."
She kissed him tenderly. "Baby…"
He placed his fingers over her lips. She sucked them gently into her mouth. "I want to court you properly. From the basics building our way up."
She released his fingers and kissed him gently. "I would like that." She stepped back, causing Kaien to whimper at the loss. She held her hand out to him, "dance with me.."
He gathered her to himm, took her hand in his, the other on his hip, and began dancing, leading her. His breath hitched, "gods you are beautiful."
She placed her lips on his and said, "so are you," before she kissed him.
"Just what are you two doing?" They pulled apart to see Kaname and the rest of the Night Class. "Do I have to lock you two apart to get soome work done?"
"Kaname, you do that and I'm gonna bite you."
He chuckled while the rest of the Night Class growled.
Kaien held Kagome tightly. "Kaname, get them under control before Kags decides to rip them apart, starting with Ruka."
Kaname asked, "why starting with Ruka?"
"She continues to glare at her, before looking smug."
Kagome struggled in his arms. "Too much like Kikyho…must…kill…"
Kaien tilted her head back, "look at me Kagome. Not her but me. That's a girl. Good girl.."
She cupped his face, upside down. "Beautiful."
He shook his head but smiled at her. "Come, my love, lets go." They went their separate ways from the Night Class.
Ruka asked, disgusted, but enviously, "who the hell does she think she is..?"
Kaname turned towards her, "she is a vampire protecting her mate. I threatened separation; she threatened my blood."
A new transfer student arrived.
Kagome kept her eyes on her, knowing her true identity. She headed to Kaname, who was with the Headmaster and Disciplinary Committees. She knocked and Kaname opened the door, arching a brow at seeing her serious face. He let her in. She headed to Kaien, kissed him before sitting on his desk.
"What's wrong Kags?"
"Maria Kurenai is not who she seems."
Kaname arched his brow at her, "meaning?"
She looked in Zero's direction. "She has two souls in her body. One dormant, one awake. The awake one is not hers."
Zero asked, "how do you know this?"
"I was in the Demon Council for a hundred years, and then the Vampire Hunters Association for going on twenty years now."
Kaien placed his hand over hers. "Who is it?"
She continued looking at Zero, whose grip tightened on Kilala's hand. "She's here?" Zero headed towards the door.
"Kiryuu…"
He stopped and turned, "how do you know my name?" Her image changed, and his breath caught, "Miss Healer…you helped heal Ichiru some so he could play outside with me."
She nodded, "they would not want you going after her Zero."
"She killed my parents and brother!"
She shook her head, "your parents, yes. Your brother, no. He's here hiding." She waved him over and he went to stand in front of her. She kissed his forehead. "I've been watching over you Zero, though Sesshomaru wouldn't let me interfere. That day four years ago, I was fighting one of her minions. By the time I got there, your parents were dead, and you and Ichiru were gone. Since then, she's been on my hit list. Besides, I have another bone to pick with her."
Zero looked in her eyes, "what?"
Kaien squeezed her hand, knowing. "She killed my mother, grandfather, and father a few months ago, well, except my father, that was years ago, and she has Sota in her grasps."
Kaname said, "you hadn't said anything?"
She shook her head, "you have your own battle to worry over, Kaname."
He inclined his head.
"Yuki, Zero, let me see your weapons please."
Yuki said, "but…won't…"
Kaname interrupted gently, "Yuki, let her see it."
She handed Kagome the Artemis Rod, while Zero handed her the Bloody Rose Gun. She brought them to her head. "Its been a while Artemis, Bloody." They quivered.
Kaien interjected, "wait! How do you know them?"
She looked at him, "why wouldn't I know the weapons I manufactured?"
Everyone, save Kilala, stared at her in shock.
"When do you make weapons?"
She shrugged, "when the urge strikes, which, admittedly, isn't often." She kissed him, before standing. "I'm going patrolling."
Zero grabbed her wrist. "He's really still alive?"
She nodded, "yes child. He's alive. I believe he's her guard."
She kissed his forehead and headed to the woods, finding nothing out of place. "I know you're here Ichiru. Zero's alive and loves you. Don't give him anymore grief." With that, she headed out.
"How do you know my name?"
She stopped but didn't turn around. "I healed you when you were a boy, so you could play with Zero. You were so happy to have been able to play with him." With that said, she left.

The day of the ball arrived and Kagome was keeping watch on the Vampires and Human interactions while Yuki danced with Kaname, and Zero danced with Kilala.
"So why is a pretty lady like you alone?"
She looked to see Aido flirting with a human. "Aido, behave."
He waved her statement away. Zero reinforced it.
Yuki ran off and Zero followed.
Kagome placed her hand on Kaname's shoulder. "I am going to go see the Headmaster."
He nodded. She headed to see Kaien. She opened the door, startling Kaien, until he noticed who it was.
"Baby, why aren't you down at the dance?"
She sat on the edge of the desk. "Because you aren't there. And I think the wars coming." She kissed him.
He pulled back, "what do you mean?"
"Hio has Yuki but Kaname has saved her, knocking out Kilala and Zero. Rido is in Shiki." He pulled her into his lap and kissed her, "what should we do Kaien?"
He kissed her again, "we wait."
Kaname was fighting Rido.
Yuki's memories awakened.
Kagome was in the woods, waiting, knowing she was coming. An arrow shot out at her, she dodged. Out came Kikyo, hair in a ponytail, wearing a tight skirt and drooping v neck. She rolled her eyes, and attacked. They fought for thirty minutes before Kagome got fed up with it and cut off her head, never noticing the little doll that fell to the ground. She felt pain in her arm, bleeding slightly, and she looked towards the school.
"Kaien…" she hurried there. Upon arriving, she saw Rogue Demons, and Kaien bleeding. She jumped over the Vampires, landing next to Kaien, but one of the Day Class said, "stay away from him!"
Kagome looked him over, "Kaien…Kaien, my love, wake up." He stirred, causing the Day Class to quiet and listen. "Kaien, beloved, I need you to wake up before I lose control. Come on baby."
He stirred and opened his eyes. "Kags…" he breathed out. He pulled her over and she turned, shook miko ki at the Rogues.
"Who harmed you baby?"
He shrugged, sitting up. "White haired male, red outfit, white ears."
She growled, "InuYasha…"
He grabbed her hand, "you were late."
"I know baby. I'm sorry but I was held up bu Inu-baka's mate."
He used her to stand. "You're bleeding Kags."
She shook her head. "It's your wound." He looked at her, confused. "When you got hurt, I felt it. When you started bleeding, I did too."
He kissed her gently, "well, well, well, if it isn't the bitch who killed my mate."
Kagome looked up, "and if it isn't the bastard who attacked mine." She stood to her full height. She got irate, "will y'all damn demons go away!" she glowed bright pink, and they purified, save InuYasha. She kissed Kaien quickly and said, "go stand guard, baby."
His grip tightened. "I am not leaving you!"
She gently pushed him in their direction. "Go baby, he can't hurt me anymore."
He reluctantly went to them.
Kagome turned towards InuYasha and smirked. "Lets get this over with so I can get back to my male." She pulled her staff out. "Tsubane…" she twirled it in her hands a few minutes before it transformed into a scythe; her eyes glowing pink.
InuYasha smirked viciously, "lets." He drew his sword but it didn't transform. He frowned.
Kagome came at him, swinging it like a pro, cutting his arm.
He used his speed to claw her across the eye.
She kicked him in his gut, right into a tree.
He attacked her across the chest, catching her shirt as she dodged.
He tackled her, ripping her shirt off.
Kagome kicked him off her, grabbed her scythe and hit him in the balls, knocking him down.
He went to stand a few minutes later, but was grabbed. "You look worse for wear, Kagome."
She smiled, "I was waiting for you to get here, InuPapa, so I could take care of my Kaien."
He looked at her, "what's wrong with him?"
She nodded her head towards InuYasha. "Brat attacked him." Kagome held out her hand, and Kaien walked to her, taking it. She reached up. "Your glasses are broke."
InuYasha growled at being restrained, and ignored.
Kaien touched around her eye, "you have a new scar."
She shrugged, cupping his cheek. He leaned his head into it.
"InuYasha struggled, "bitch! Stop ignoring me! I will have my revenge on you for my mate!"
Kagome looked at him coldly, "if your mate had wanted to live, she shouldn't have attacked me," she said, before returning her attention to Kaien. She took his arm and licked his wounds, healing it.
He reached up with his other hand and took off his glasses.
"Papa, can you deal with him? I have somewhere to be."
Inutaisho arched a brow.

"Has she ever been away from you for a length of time?" he shook his head. "Has she ever has a pained expression on her face?" he still looked confused, but he nodded. "For untouched females, it's the worst feeling. It gets worse every year."

He nodded, "well, then we went to Peru. We were there for four days, before they found us again. We then went to Spain. That took them the longest to find us, as we were there for ten days. On the way back, Yuka and Eri had grabbed me, trying to pull me away from Kaien."

Kaien pulled her onto his lap. "Calm yourself love. Let not these fools cause you to purify someone."
Kagome calmed and locked eyes with the three. "Tell me the truth, now."
Chief Smith began recording as Eri, Yuka, and Hojo spoke simultaneously. "The trunk of the car. We will sell her to the highest bidder, as we have so many others…"
All the demons heard and one went out to the car, opened the trunk, and saw her, bound, gagged, drugged and unconscious.
"Chief! There's a female in the trunk!"

The police went to the office and arrested Eri, Yuka, and Hojo, throwing them in a cell. They all came back out, to see her holding Ayumi.

She placed her hands on her wrist, before asking, "should you get evidence beforehand?"
He nodded.
Kagome backed away, letting them take pictures, before kneeling beside Ayumi again. "Can we call her parents? They need to know to meet us at the hospital?"
He nodded and Kaien took her phone, scrolling to Takashi family; calling and telling them.
Meanwhile, Kagome was kneeling next to Ayumi, hand on her stomach, eyes closed. Around her a pink shroud emerged.
The demons stepped back, knowing the truth; this slip of a woman is the Shikon no Miko; this is the one who risked everything for demonkind.

Sesshomaru growled, while the others looked confused. Sesshomaru asked Chief Smith, "how many demons do you have?"
"All of us, why?"
"Send four or five, at least, out to look for a half-breed and dark priestess."
Smith's eyes narrowed, "why?"
"Kagome and the dark priestess had a bond; the dark priestess was resurrected with Kagome's soul. Now, said priestess is after her soul. The half breed won't be far behind."
"His purpose?"
"To kill or mate Kagome."
"Why?"
"Because at one point in the time, she resembled the Dark Priestess in looks…"
Kaien hollered, "Sesshomaru! She's turning blue!" he took her hand. "Come on baby. Fight for me and our child, love."
They heard a scream nearby.
"Go after the scream!" Sesshomaru demanded.

Sesshomaru placed his hand on his shoulder, catching his attention. "Do not let her fight you Kaien. She needs blood."
Kaien nodded, and with the help of Sesshomaru, sat back gently, so as not to jar Kagome.

"My sister, who is the Shikon Miko, and my in-law by mateship, used to have a bond. InuYasha's mate was brought back, using a piece of the Shikon Miko's soul. Due to that, there's a bond to each person."
Natsu asked, "where is the Shikon Miko?"
Sesshomaru stepped aside, and Kagome lifted her head, "Councilor Natsu…" she lowered her head and sealed the wound.

Kaien continued, "to find out that they were trafficking one of her friends."
Kagome stood, allowing Kaien to stand, and headed towards Ayumi, kneeling at her side, "sweetheart…" she placed a barrier up, her hand over Ayumi, purifying the rest of the drug.
Ayumi's eyes opened and she swung, Kagome catching her hand. "Ayumi, sweetheart, I'm not going to hurt you…" Ayumi looked, and saw Kagome, to which she flung herself at and wept. Kagome rocked them, cradling her gently. "Sweetheart, your parents are on the way. That should be them Chief Smith. Sweetheart, Ayumi…you need to go talk to Chief Smith." She shook her head, tightening her grip on Kagome. "Ayumi, they need to know, before I lose control and rip their heads off."
Ayumi's parents, Tsukiko and Ryu, came over and asked, simultaneously, "what happened to her?"
"Hojo, Yuka, and Eri had planned to traffick her."
Kagome cupped Ayumi's cheek, "sweetheart, you need to go with Chief Smith so you can tell him what happened." She shook her head. "Sweetheart, I'm not permitted to help you anymore, not until you're checked over." She shook her head, "would it help if I were with you?" she thought and nodded. She looked at Chief Smith, who nodded.
Tsukiko gripped Kagome's arm, "what did you do to help Ayumi?"
Kagome looked her in the eyes, "got rid of the drug in her system." With that said, Kagome, Ayumi, and Chief Smith went in, sitting in his office. "Sweetheart, you need to tell Chief Smith what they did," Ayumi shook her head. Kagome laid her head on Ayumi's, "would it be better if I showed him, Ayumi, so that you didn't have to talk about it?"
Ayumi nodded, and Kagome looked at Chief Smith, who nodded. So she went through the process of showing Chief Smith what happened.
An hour later, they came out, Kagome and Chief Smith both furious.
Kagome gently deposited Ayumi in the back of her parent's car. "Mr., and Mrs. Takashi, I think its best to take Ayumi to the hospital, and have her checked over."
They hugged each other, "was she raped?"
Kagome looked away. "Had I known they would do something like this, I would have killed them, ma'am, sir."
They hugged Kagome before leaving.
Kagome went to Kaien and buried her face, in his chest. "Had I known they still had her, I would have ended it before got here."
Kaien cradled her head in his hands. "Hush baby. You thought she had gone home."
She looked up and he wiped away her tears, kissing her gently.
InuYasha growled, seeing a struggling Kikyo. "let go of my mate! She did nothing wrong!"
Kaien gathered Kagome to his side, and said, "she tried to kill my Kagome, and unborn child."
InuYasha froze, "she would never. Kikyo would know that she was pupped…you lie…"
Sesshomaru said, "he doesn't lie. She has been pupped for two weeks."
"Liar!"
"Bring him closer but do not release his arms. Kagome turn around. Let him catch your scent." She did as she was told.
InuYasha caught her scent and turned to Kikyo, "why? Why would you to try a mother who is with child?!"
She didn't answer, just glared at Kagome.
Kagome said, "did you ever take into consideration that the two things she wanted she could never have because of her choices?"
They looked at her.
"What do you mean, Kags?" asked Kaien.
"Due to her not trust InuYasha five hundred years ago, she lost her chance at life and she Shikon. And due to her choice to hate me, and become a Dark Priestess, she lost her ability to have children. She's infertile."
Councilor Natsu asked, "how can you tell?"
Kagome shrugged, "the Shikon. She has no healthy glow about her, nor has she gotten pregnant in the last 500 years."
Kikyo growled, "bitch, I should have killed you years ago."
"What would killing me give you, Kikyo, but more darkness?"
"A working womb and child!"
InuYasha said, resigned, "you should have told me Kikyo, that you couldn't have children."
"Why?! What good would it have done? It would have drove you away from me!"
"Just like your attacking a pregnant woman, Kikyo! I thought you loved children? Killing an unborn child's mother would kill that child too. Forgive me, Kagome, it seems I've been made a fool of again."
They let him go, and he ran.
Kikyo broke down and sobbed.
Kagome looked at Kaien, "lets go home, my fangless vampire." And they left.
Four months later, they went to visit Kaname and Yuki.
Kaname opened the door, surprised to see his Godmother and her husband. He let them in, "how's Yuki, Kaname?"
Yuki heard them and came in, looking pregnant.
Kagome chuckled.
Kaien looked at his two favorite females and chuckled, Kaname joining in.
Kagome hugged Yuki and Kaname. Yuki returning the hug, and hugging Kaien.
"So Kagome, how are you?"
She shrugged, her hand resting on her stomach, Kaien's joining hers.
"She's worried for one of her friends. Has been for the last four months."
Yuki asked, "why?"
"She was part of a Human Trafficking ring. Three of her former classmates, and friends, had been selling her to others for the two weeks of our honeymoon. She's in counseling, and pregnant. She'll let Kagome talk to her, Chief Smith, me, Kilala and the Kiryuu's, but no one else."
Yuki's hand flew to her mouth, "poor dear."
Kaname pulled Yuki to him. "Baby…Kagome, is there anyway we can help her?"
Kagome shook her head. "Ichiru, believe it or not, is helping her the most. From the moment she saw him, she wasn't afraid, and coincidently, Zero too. She fears neither of them. Zero, due to his resemblance to Ichiru, and Ichiru…because she knows he would never hurt her."
Kaname asked, "how does she know that Kags?"
She looked at him, "you can't hurt your soulmate Kaname. You know it instinctively that they are your soulmate."
Kaname and Kaien looked at her, "are you saying…that they are soulmates?"
She nodded once. "there are nine now known."
"Who?"
"Kaien and I, you and Yuki, Zero and Kilala, Sesshomaru and Lavendar, Kain and Ruka, Ryu and Tsukiko, Shippo and Shayla, and now, Ichiru and Ayumi."
"Her parents…"
She nodded, "its why they took so well to each other." She leaned into Kaien, looking up at him, "I love you, Kaien."
"Love you too baby." He kissed her nose.
They, then, all sat and had a good time.
4.5 months later, Kagome and Ayumi were with Yuki while the men ran around doing last minute preparations, when suddenly all three of them felt their leg dampen.
"Kaien!/Ichiru!/Kaname!"
The three ran in and upon seeing the moisture, got their females, and rushed to the birthing rooms.
An hour later, everyone was in Kaname's house, when they heard three cries.
Kagome said, holding their little ones, "look, Kaien, we have a little boy."
Kaien came over, and held him. "Such a brave one _. I love you baby." He kissed Kagome's forehead.
Meanwhile, Kaname and Yuki were doing the same.
Ayumi had tears falling from her eyes. Ichiru wiped them, "what's wrong Ayumi?"
She shook her head, "what am I supposed to do, Ichiru? Her daddy can't…she won't have a daddy…"
He covered her mouth with his hand, "Ayumi, let me fill that role. Let me help you raise this little girl…"
She looked him in the eyes before nodding.
He gathered them both to him, and kissed her forehead.
The others soon followed in having their own families upon seeing how happy the three couples were with their own. This began the future for each house.
Each had four children in ten years and many more to expect.
A/N the long awaited chapter. So, some of it may not make sense, some if it will. I wrote this story when I was in my senior year of high school. At that time I was working on my Senior Project, dealing with Human Trafficking. This story went from being just a story, to helping raise awareness. So I hope you've enjoyed the story. Til next time.
