HEY! Yeah, sorry for taking so long on updating this one... writers block + stress + depression = major fuck show. Honestly, I had a completely different plot line for this one, but... yeah, if kinda got out of hand. Soooo, the writers block was mainly because I had no idea what the hell I was doing. The stress and depression went hand in hand because I couldn't find a job to save my life (literally), and my family has basically turned into a soap op... Like seriously, I can't even make up half the shit that happens to me on a day to day basis.

Anyway, I am happy to report that I now have a somewhat idea as to where this story is going... I think. AND, I got a job! I'll start working at Sheetz this coming Monday, so wish me luck everyone and I hope everyone has a nice day/night (Where ever the hell you peeps are, LOL). Enjoy!

Yama sat in his office with two files, a set of keys and a cell phone sitting on his desk. He could feel his hair graying at the roots. One of the files, the keys and the phone belonged to one Takaba Akihito while the other file held the matter that Yama had originally called Akihito about. He knew that Akihito's disappearance had something to do with that despicable being of a man.

Honestly after nearly seven years, Yama didn't think that he would ever hear the mans name again, until the report came in that morning. He had been so busy try to get eyes on the man that he had totally forgotten to call Akihito who would've needed to know what was happening the most. But calling the boy out had also been what the man had wanted.

His tricks could still blind side him after all these years.

And now Akihito is missing.

It was the lighting up of the screen and the ringing that filled the office that startled Yama out of his pondering. Akihito's phone was being called and the detective almost didn't have the heart to look incase it was one of Akihito's friends. Taking the phone in hand, he looked down to see that it was an unknown and blocked number. Confused he answered.

"Yes?"

"… Who is this? Where is Akihito?" The person on the other end was not in front of him, but Yama could hear the death sentence in the others baritone voice.

"A-Akihito, he uh, he isn't here right now. Could I take a message?"

"Better, you could tell me who this is." Yama shivered.

"Th-this is Detective Yamazaki of the Tokyo PD." doot-doot-doot…

Yama looked down at the phone in his hand and had a sudden feeling of dread. Not twenty minutes later King Pin Yakuza Asami Ryuichi strode into his office.

The moment that Asami heard the unknown voice on the other end of the line, he felt his eyes narrow. The conversation the followed both appeased and irritated him. Knowing that it was just the detective that Akihito had known for years soothed his figuratively ruffle feathers, but the question now was what was the detective doing with Akihito's phone?

The man at his desk gawked at him as he stepped into his office and sat before him. Kirishima stood next to him while Suoh stood outside the office. He wasn't surprised at the strange looks he had gotten as he enter the Tokyo PD. After all, many of them knew what he did, but either had no proof or had enough sense to keep their mouths shut.

Yama sat froze in front of him and Asami only stared back.

"Detective Yamazaki."

"Y-yes?!" Yama flinched and seemed to sit straighter in his seat.

"I was hoping that you would be so kind as to tell me why you have Takaba Akihito's cell phone and where Akihito in question is."

"Wait, that was you on the phone earlier?"

"Yes, now I suggest that you start answering my questions. After all, I am not a very patient man." Asami gave Yama a glare then so fierce that the detective felt a shiver of ice go down his spine.

"Uh, well the answer to both of those questions is the same. Because, you see… Akihito is missing." The temperature in the room at that moment dropped by twenty degrees instantly as an aura of death surrounded Asami.

"What do you mean missing?" Yama had swallow the lump in his throat before he could speak, and even then he could feel it fall to his stomach like a rock.

"His Vespa was picked up earlier after witnesses said he was hit and then taken."

"Taken? By who?" Yama sighed and glanced over to the second file on his desk, his eyes hardening.

"To answer that, we'd have to go back seven years to when Akihito was sixteen." Yama sat back in his chair and sighed before looking Asami in the eye. "I don't know how Akihito knows you, but seeing as you're here, I can guess that you do care for him to some degree. That being said, how much of Akihito's past do you know?"

Asami raised his brow. "Only what he's told me, which isn't much. What does this have to do with his kidnapping?"

"Everything. As I said before, the reason Akihito has been taken now is because a creature of a man has just surfaced again for the first time in seven years. His name is Gyukudo Haranobu and he lost everything he'd built when Akihito sold him out."

"Sold him out?"

"Yes, you see, Akihito had been picked up while in the middle of a deal, however he was in far deeper than he had thought. Akihito didn't know it, but he was running a shit ton of guns when he thought he was running some cargo for one of the stores that Gyukudo owned. Long story short, it turned out that Akihito was a gold mine. He knew more about the ins and outs of Gyukudo's operations than what any of our undercover ops ever found out. So, we struck a deal with him, he told us everything he knew and he got off with six months of community service. In the end he even went so far as to bring us photographic evidence."

"What came out of that?"

"Gyukudo's empire came crashing down. After that, Akihito turned a new leaf and found his love of photography. He even went so far as to make a career out of it."

"And Gyukudo?" Yama scowled something fierce.

"The slime ball got away and has been under ground ever since. For the last seven years he hasn't made a peep, but I never thought he would, seeing as that he'd lost everything. The fact that he is back now means that he hadn't been completely crushed and is now out for blood. Akihito's blood to be specific." Yama looked back down to his desk as the office became silent.

Asami was sitting quietly in his seat, but his mind was anything but quiet. Akihito had been involved in something major and now his every life was in danger. He also knew what he would do of he were in Gyukudo's shoes. He could only imagine what Gyukudo would do.

"What exactly was it that Gyukudo did?" Yama looked up then.

"Well, you name it, he more than likely had his hand in it. Drug, arson and human trafficking, murder and black market dealings. I honestly don't think there was much that he wasn't involved in. Killed some good officers, too. I've gone to far too many funerals because of this demon."

"Do you think he's going to rebuild his old assets?"

"I know he will. He's probably already half way there if he's made an appearance. By killing Akihito he'd basically be sending a message saying that he may be crippled, but he'll always be back."

A thought struck Asami then. "Akihito has mentioned something about a lab before. Care to explain?"

"Oh, the LAB. Yeah, while Akihito was really good with his camera, he needed a place of operations when he was a teen. He pretty much built the LAB when he was around fifteen. He was always good at hacking and he left the LAB to us when he quit a few years back."

"Could I get a look at it?"

"Uh, I don't see why not. You can follow me in my car." Asami and Yama stood together and headed out of the office with Kirishima and Suoh trailing behind. Again, Asami was given funny looks, but Yama knew how this could look. He was going to have a lot of explaining to do when he got back.

The LAB was only a few streets over and when they pulled up, Asami was surprised to see that it seemed like some sort of abandoned building.

"I know what you're thinking. I thought it was weird, too, until I saw what Akihito had made inside." Yama started walking up to the chained doors and pulled out a key from his key ring. "The department purchased the building not long after Akihito helped us with Gyukudo and have kept it safe for him ever since."

Stepping inside, the main hall was dusty and seemed just as unkempt as the front of the building. At the end of the hall there was a set of stairs that Asami followed Yama up. At the top, was another hallway with a few doors that were either closed of just barely hanging onto their hinges.

There was one door though at the end that was open and a soft glow was coming from inside the room. Walking in behind Yama, the three men that had stepped in had to take a moment to absorb what they were seeing.

"Welcome to the LAB."

There were computers everywhere.

Ooh... Tech stuff... Lol. Please review and follow. Your thoughts as the reader(s) honestly helps to make my day. I'm thinking the next chapter will be mostly from Akihito's POV. What do you think? Of course Asami will be there, but like I said, it will mostly be Akihito. Anyway, I got dishes to do. See ya next time!
