"Gavin-dono." Klavier looked up at the noirette who'd said his name, about to say something about turning off his music, but cut off as he saw the look in Simon's eyes, sitting back. "… We need to talk."

"I don't see why." Klavier said, looking away and back at his papers. He tried to ignore the stare, but Simon moved over, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Listen, snowflake, I-"

"I ordered food. Take a small break and eat with me." Simon said softly. Klavier sighed, setting his work aside and taking his glasses off, tossing them down. Simon smiled a little, waiting for Klavier to fix his hair and lead him down to the street.

"Athena isn't joining you today?" Klavier asked they started down the street. Not for the first time he couldn't help but think how strange people must think their friendship. The Twisted Samurai and the Rockstar Prosecutor, walking side by side. One with his usual friendly grin, the other with a sour expression and a feather hanging from his lips.

"No. She has work to do." Simon said, glancing at him. "She also said if I didn't talk to you about the other day she would. I'll give you a chance to just tell me you know."

"… I know. I just..." Klavier's smile faded as he ran a hand through his hair. "Let's find something to eat first, ja?" He said. "Then we'll talk?"

"As you wish." Simon said, flicking a few errant strands of hair back over his shoulder and taking the lead, Klavier having to speed up to walk beside him still. Grey eyes flicked over briefly, but Simon didn't slow his pace.

They walked in companionable silence to a nearby store, and Klavier poked at his food a little when they got it and were comfortable in their seats. Simon didn't push him to speak at first, eating his own food in silence and staring out the window they were sitting beside.

"Alright." Klavier sat back, crossing his arms. "It's Apollo. He-"

"Did Justice-dono say something or hurt you?" Simon cut in, narrowing his eyes a little.

"Nein- nein. Nothing like that, Simon. Ach... Nein. He just... I don't know. My nightmares about Kristoph have been getting worse. And I-…" He hesitated, frowning a little. "I think... Apollo may have gone to talk to him."

"You're afraid for him?" Simon asked, raising an eyebrow. "Or afraid of your brother?"

"What if Kristoph gets into his head, like he did with me?" Klavier said softly, looking at Simon, who was watching him. "What if I can't help him?"

"…. Gavin-dono." Simon looked down for a moment, then met Klavier's gaze. "You can't keep protecting him forever, you need to talk to him." He said, ignoring Klavier's beginning protests. "I know you think things will go wrong, that he'll leave you or whatever you have in that glimmerous head of yours, but you need to talk with him. If you don't then you'll succeed in nothing more than pushing him away."

"Like you did with Athena?" Klavier said softly, and Simon's shoulder's tensed, even though he nodded.

"After everything we talked- a long, hard talk for both of us to go through." Simon said, looking back out the window. "That's what you need to do."

"…. I suppose." Klavier sighed. "I don't know if I can do it." He added weakly. "If I can let it out like that. I-"

"Do you remember when I told you that I-… We. All cared about you?" Simon said sharply, and Klavier stared at him, slowly nodding. "…. Good. That stands no matter what, you know."

"… Hm. Who know you could be such a softie." Klavier said with a small smile as Simon scoffed in denial, sitting back.

"Far from it. I'm just tired of listening to you blast your music because you're upset, Yam-dono." He retorted.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, snowflake." Klavier bat his eyes, and Simon rolled his with a small smirk.

"Finish your food, this is my treat." Simon said, and Klavier's smile widened as he nodded, both falling silent as they dug into their lunch. The chatter after that was soft and amiable- both of them had so many different likes, but Klavier didn't mind listening to Simon go on about this show or another he was watching- and Simon always had some kind of idea for Klavier to use to write a newer song.

"Well... Good luck tomorrow, in court." Simon said as they stopped outside Klavier's office.

"Ja... Danke, for that. I needed it." Klavier said as he opened to door, reaching out and gently smacking Simon's arm. "I appreciate it, snowflake."

"Of course. Just don't lie to Athena again. I don't want to spend my break listening to her go on about you." Simon said lightly. Although Klavier could tell he was serious about the lying part. Athena wasn't the only one who was worried about him after all.

"Ja... Deal." Klavier nodded. He waved as he headed back into his office, and sat down, feeling more energized than before. He looked at his glasses and smiled before putting them on and getting to work.
