"What took you so long?' Thalia lamented as Percy approached the twin children of Zeus. Jason and herself waited for the son of Poseidon for fithteen minutes but for the electricly charged demigods with ADHD, fithteen minutes felt like eons.

"I had to find the perfect weapons for our cousins," Percy sighed out, exasperated, as if the answer was obvious.

Jason decided to butt in at this moment. "Okay guys. No fighting." He said in effort to cool down his powerhouse family.

"Jason is right. Truce?" Percy ask as he stuck out his friend to his cousin. Thalia glared at his hand but thought it through and agreed.

"I am not shaking your hand. I am still angry and I can feel my lightning so unless you want to be electrocuted I would take your hand back." With that warning, Percy let his hand fall limply to his side as he watched Thalia strut towards the exit. Jason casted a worry look to Percy. After a beat, Jason and Percy followed Thalia out the door.

The three demigods trekked to a train station. They were determined to get to the Lotus Hotel and Casino as fast as possible. The demigods were able to get there without a monster attack, a lack of complication that they found odd.

They boarded the train with ease. They found their seats with no trouble but couldn't help but feel tense from the lack of conflict. Then Jason pointed out three cheerleaders that boarded the train.

Thalia raised her eyebrow in confusion."What is the big deal about cheerleaders?"

"Don't you think it is sorta odd that three cheerleaders boarded a train to Nevada in full uniform?" Jason responded quietly. Thalia's eyes widened in understanding.

"Okay guys, whatever you do, do not split up. There is power in numbers here," muttered Percy to the children of Zeus. They gave a small nod to their older cousin. The three decided to not engage the monsters but wait until the monsters came to them.

The train car that the demigods were in gradually became empty. People left to go to the sleeping car, one man left to bathroom with a green face, a group of teenagers swarmed to the bar car. About three hours into the train ride, the train car was completely empty. The three demigods, who kept an eye on the monsters for the entire three hours, watched as the Mist dispersed from around the cheerleaders. Percy narrowed his eyes in confusion because as far he could tell the cheerleaders still looked mortal. It wasn't until they stood up that he saw that their supernatural traits. Each cheerleader stood tall with their left legs being made entirely of bronze and their right legs looked like they were replaced with a donkey's. The three monsters sashayed over to the three demigods.

"Well look what we have here!" The monster in the middle spoke in a sickly sweet voice.

"Empousea," whispered Thalia.

"That is right little demigod." One of the back up monsters stated with a devious smile.

The third monster rolled her eyes. "Kelly this is boring. Can we eat them now?"

The monster leader, Kelly, smiled wider. "Sure."

The empousea were a fury of nails and teeth. They rushed towards the demigods. Thalia launched herself forward over the seats. Percy ducked under the table. Jason flew to the ceiling. In a flash, the seat that the demigods were sitting on was turned to shreds at the claws of the cheerleaders. Percy kicked the legs out from under Kelly. Thalia attempted to impale one of the other empousea and Jason tackled the last one. It was then a clash of metal and claws. The empousea were easily getting the upper hand.

Thalia's cheek was cut by the claws of the empousea she was fighting. Jason was sweating bullets but he kept using his wind to push back on the empousea and float himself around. Percy could tell that Jason was getting too tired and if he kept using his powers like he was, he would faint. Percy wasn't doing any better himself as he narrowly avoiding each attack. It wasn't until Kelly knocked over a water bottle that Percy was finally able to turn the tides in his favor.

Percy quickly put his main focus on controlling the spilt water. He was able to manipulate it so it splashed Kelly in the face. The water didn't do any harm to her but it did throw off her focus. That moment of surprise was all Percy needed to plunge riptide into her chest. Luckily, the death of their leader caused the empousea that Thalia was fighting to turn and gasp at the scene. Thalia took advantage of the situation and impaled the monster with her spear.

Jason was still having a hard time with the empousea he was fighting when his cousins came to aid him. The three demigods found it to be considerably easier to defeat the one monster together. Nobody was sure who killed the final monster since they were all able to run their weapons through her before she disintegrated into golden dust.

The demigods remained on the train, knowing that it was fast enough for their scent to settle in monster's noses. There were a few times that the demigods had to slay monster that boarded at stops. There were some laistrygonian giants and hellhounds but the other monsters they faced were much easier than the empousea.

It took three days but the son of poseidon and wonder twins reached Las Vegas, Nevada. Percy smiled at the big welcome sign out the city.

"Alright! Now all we have to do is find the Lotus Hotel and Casino, rescue our unarmed and untrain cousins from carnivorous monsters, and make it back to Olympus undetected which should be easy because there will be five children of the big three…" Percy got quieter as he kept talking. The optimism he had at the beginning of his speech faded away as he realized that getting to Nevada would be the easiest part of the trip.
