I don't own, Sega, Capcom or anything affiliated with them, if I did. Sonic '06 wouldn't exist and Megaman… would still be the same as he is now.

The three instinctively dodged out of the way so Metal Sonic just flew past them at full speed, so fast that in fact he couldn't stop fast enough and he crashed into the wall.

"Hey Metal," Sonic taunted. "I think you need your processer updated, because walls are hard."

Metal Sonic then fired is chest laser in Team Sonic's direction. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles then just simply dodged again and ran at Metal Sonic. Sonic spin dashed him in the chest and sent him flying towards Knuckles who launched an uppercut that sent him upward, Tails then flew up and kicked Metal Sonic back towards the ground. Where he was homing attacked by Sonic which sent him flying into a pillar in the middle of the room. Metal Sonic then stood up and proceeded to go for Knuckles, but was interrupted by Sonic roundhouse kicking him in the face. So far things seemed to be going badly for Metal, but his real goal was only to stall them for as long as possible.

"Wow Metal," Sonic taunted again. "You seem to have lost your game, want me to go easy on you?"

"That won't be necessary," Metal replied. "After all, I was only meant to stall you."

It took about five seconds for Team Sonic to realize what that meant.

"Sonic," Knuckles yelled. "Go get the Chaos Emerald, we'll hold him off."

"Got it!" Sonic replied before rushing off.

Sonic ran down the stairs and in several room before finding the room with the Chaos Emerald in it, nothing else in sight. Sonic then carefully walked into the room and towards the pedestal with the Chaos Emerald on it. Only to have a Metal Blade land beside him. (Metal Man's weapon from Megaman 2) Sonic then looked up, and proceeded to get a kick to the face. Sonic was sent backwards from the attack and landed near the entrance to the room. Sonic then looked up to see what robot dare to ambush him, and was instantly surprised by the robot. It had bright blue optics, orange armor plating, a small white plate below the head, rocket boosters on its feet as it was hovering, and finally to top it off two metallic tails behind it.

"Now what?" Sonic exclaimed, "Old Eggface doesn't think one metal duplicate of us isn't enough?"

"Affirmative, he believes that your metal duplicate is incompetent and unnecessary." Metal Tails replied in monotone.

"Alright then, bring it on!"

Sonic dropped into battle position as Metal Tails' namesakes began to spin. Sonic then charged at Metal Tails.

Meanwhile with the rest of Team Sonic…

Sonic then rushed off and vanished down the stairs.

Tails and Knuckles then returned their attention back to Metal Sonic.

"You know you won't win right?" Tails asked, "Sonic will get the Chaos Emerald before you can."

Metal Sonic simply laughed before replying, "No he won't because I have an ace up my sleeve. But I say we take this somewhere else."

Metal Sonic then charged at Tails and Knuckles, the two being unprepared for the direct charge were grabbed and thrown down the stairs Sonic ran down.

But before they could stand up Metal Sonic shot a stun laser and hit Knuckles.

"Knuckles!" Tails exclaimed before having his neck grabbed by Metal Sonic.

"You have failed," Metal Sonic spoke monotonously as Tails gasped for air. "As will your friend."

Tails then stopped struggling, and his eyes closed as his body went limp. Metal Sonic simply dropped him to the ground and continued walking towards the chaos signature.

Back with Sonic…

Sonic was having slight trouble with Metal Tails as he couldn't approach him due to his namesakes, which were now spinning at such high speeds that they could pretty much be counted as a giant metal blade of death, and he continually threw Metal Blades at him. But then Metal Sonic walked into the room.

And motioned for Metal Tails to follow, Metal Tails replied and flew out of the room trailing behind Metal Sonic.

"What?" Sonic asked, "They just leave and ditch the Chaos Emerald?"

Sonic then began to walk up to the pedestal.

"Something's not right…" He thought.

Then the room suddenly began to shake and chunks of green aged rock began to collapse around him.
