Author Notes
For those of you who have been waiting 2 and a half years for me to update this story I am truly sorry for the wait and I will try to ensure quicker updates in the future. The reasons its taken me so long to update are my 3Ds broke so I was unable to access the team information for the characters based on my vide game characters and then by the time I got my 3DS fix and was able to access my games again I kinda forgot about this story and had started writing other stories. I will try and update quicker in the future. Also I am currently looking for a beta reader so if you or someone you know is interested please PM me.
Anyways the previous chapter had us watching Ash and Red vs Gary and Blue with Ash and Red emerging victorious. This chapter we see Brock and Calem vs Haru and Calesta.
Misty POV
I watched Ash as he climbed up the stand stairs towards me I thought to myself that Ash had really improved as a trainer and a battler since the last time I saw him battle. Once he sat next to me I turned to him and told him "Great battle Ash. Your skills and techniques have really improved since the last time I saw you battle". His hand went to the back of head as it usually did when he was embarrassed and said happily "Thanks Mist,". My heart fluttered a little when he called me Mist. I about to ask him when he learned that Counter Spin move and why it looked like a move a coordinator would use when I heard J call out ""Alright time for the next match. Calesta, Haru, Brock and Calem make your way down to the battle field,". I then watched the four trainers J called walk down and got ready to send out their Pokémon. "Rules are the same as before. May the best team win. Now let the battle begin," J called out.
Normal POV
As soon as J said to the start the battle the four trainers sent out their Pokémon. Brock sent out his Ludicolo, Calem sent out his Tyrantrum, Haru sent out his Krookodile and Calesta sent out her Serperior. Everyone stared at Calem's Tryantrum in amazement knowing they were seeing a new Pokémon. Yellow pulled out her Pokédex and was surprised when her Pokédex came back with no information.
J POV
I could tell that the trainers would be to distracted to focus on the battle let out a sigh, go off my throne, hopped on Metagross went over to the trainers and told them in a slightly irritated tone "You can all be told about Calem and where he's from after the match if you so wish but for now focus on the match…", I paused then continued in a menacing tone, "or else. I made a hand gesture and a screen came down showing the trainers Pokémon they had sent out as well as an approximation of the Pokémon's health as well as its name. I heard Red call out "Why didn't you use that in mine and Ash's battle". I looked at him with a glare and said annoyed "Didn't feel like it," I turned to the trainers on the field and continued "now start the damn battle,". I then went back to my throne and once again got comfortable in it
Normal POV
"Ludicolo lets get things started with Rain Dance," Brock called out. Ludicolo summoned a dark cloud that encompassed the entire battle and let loose a downpour of rain. "Tyrannamo use Fire Fang on that Serperior. Tyrantrum's mouth became engulfed in flame and it charged at Serperior. What?!" Haru and Calesta called out confused and wondering why Calem chose to use a fire type move while Rain Dance was in effect. Calem just smirked which unsettled Calesta who was about to order Zelen to use Protect instead called out in a slight panic "Zelen use Dragon Tail". Tyrantrum then bit down on Serperior causing it to cry out in pain. Serperior's tail then glowed and it slammed its tail down on Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum was then forced back into its Pokéball and Calem's second Pokémon Delphox was dragged out due to Dragon Tail's effect. Calesta then looked at the board and saw that Serperior's health had gone down to approximately half and she noticed that Tyrantrum's health had also gone down to approximately down to half as well. Calesta shot Haru a look and they realised that Tyrantrum was weak to dragon type moves. Calesta called out to Calem asking "How did you do some much damage to Zelen despite Rain Dance being in effect?" Calem smiled then yelled back "Thanks to Tyrannamo's ability Strong Jaw the power of all fang moves as well as Crunch and Bite". Calesta nodded in thanks, gave Haru another look then called out "Zelen use Protect". Haru then called out "Carlotta use Earthquake". Serperior surrounded itself in a green spherical orb of energy while Krookodile raised one of its legs and stomped it on the ground causing the battlefield to shake. Thanks to Protect Serperior was unaffected by Earthquake while Brock and Calem's Pokémon took a hit. Ludicolo didn't take too much damage but Delphox too serious damage but managed to hang in there much to Calem's joy and delight. "Way to go Delphi," Calem told Delphox and it chitted happily. Ludicolo then glowed for a few seconds as its ability Rain Dish activated. "Alright Delphi hit that Serperior with Psychic," Calem ordered. "You attack that Serperior with Ice Beam Ludicolo," Brock commanded. Delphox's eyes glowed as it prepared its attack while Ludicolo opened its mouth as a blue light formed inside. The two Pokémon then launched their attacks at Serperior knocking out it and causing it to faint.
"Good job Zelen, have a nice rest," Calesta murmured as she recalled Serperior. She then sent out her next Pokémon which was Simipour. "Ludicolo use Mega Drain on that Krookodile and regain some health," Brock commanded. Ludicolo then raised one of its arms and a green beam hit Krookodile draining it of energy and restoring Ludicolo's health. "Lisbeth let's make this ran work for us and use Surf," Calesta called out. Simipour then created a tidal wave, jumped on it and crashed it into Ludicolo and Delphox. The attack did very little damage to Ludicolo despite Surf's attack power being boosted by the rain due to it being Grass/Water but Delphox was not so lucky getting knocked out by Simipour's attack. Calem recalled Delphox thanking it, then he sent Tyrantrum out once more. Brock also recalled his Ludicolo and sent out his Croagunk. "Croagunk take out that Krookodile with Brick Break," Brock commanded. One of Croagunk's paws started to glow and it leapt at Krookodile and slammed its glowing paw on Krookodile's head which caused it to collapse on the ground with spirals in its eyes indicating that it had fainted. Haru recalled Krookodile and sent out his Emboar. Brock recalled Croagunk and then sent Ludicolo back into the fray. "Pyrosha give them a taste of your Flare Blitz," Haru commanded. Emboar's body engulf in a red-orange fire then it charged at Ludicolo slamming into it. Ludicolo took a fair amount of damage from Flare Blitz but wasn't knocked out thanks to Rain Dance and its Water typing and Emboar also took damage due to Flare Blitz's secondary effect. Ludicolo once again glowed temporarily and regained some health thanks to its Rain Dish ability. "Alright Ludicolo give that Simipour a taste of your Thunder punch," Brock commanded. Ludicolo's fist became covered in sparks and it charged at Simipour then punched it knocking it to the ground. As Simipour got back onto its feet electrical sparks ran along its body signifying that it had been paralysed. "Alright Tyrannamo time to get them a taste of your Earthquake," Calem called out. Tryantrum lifted one of its legs and stomped it on the ground causing the battlefield to shake once more. Ludicolo managed to take not much damage but Haru and Calesta weren't so lucky as both of their Pokémon were knocked out.
Haru and Calesta recalled their fainted Pokémon and sent out their final Pokémon. Out of Calesta's Pokéball came her Darmanitan while out of Haru's came a Zekrom. "First things first Thurston let's get rid of this damn rain with Sunny Day," Calesta called out grinning. Darmanitan raised both its hands into the air and out of its raised hands came two orbs. The two orbs floated into the sky causing the dark clouds surrounding the battlefield to dissipate and then the two orbs joined together and formed a mini sun that hovered about the battlefield. Calesta grinned happy the rain had gone then called out "Alright Thurston let's get rid of that Ludicolo with Fire Punch". Darmanitan then charged at Ludicolo with a raised fist cover in flames and punched it. The attack caused Ludicolo to fall backwards with spirals in its eyes indicating that it had fainted. Brock recalled Ludicolo then called his Croagunk back to battle. "Zeke follow Darmanitan's lead and take out that dinosaur with Dragon Claw," Haru ordered. Zekerom's claws glowed white as it flew straight at Tyrantrum, slashing it and causing Tyrantrum to collapse from exhaustion and faint. Calem recalled Tyrantrum and then with a smirk sent out his final Pokémon Sylveon. Calesta and Haru stared at it for about 20 seconds trying to figure the best way to attack it when Haru called out "Zeke use Dragonbreath on that pink thing". Zekrom opened its mouth and fired a stream of purple fire at Slyveon who just stood there and took the brunt of the attack. Once Zekrom had finished its attack Haru looked at the board with the Pokémon information on it and gasped in shock as he saw that Sylveon's health hadn't decreased at all. "H-h-how is possible that your Pokémon didn't take any damage?" Haru stammered out in shock. Calem's smirk deepened then answered. "Silver here is a Fairy type Pokémon which is immune to Dragon type moves," he then looked at Sylveon and called "but that's not all Silver is also the bane of Dragon Pokémon. Silver use Moonblast". Sylveon raised its feelers up above its head and a large pink orb appeared between Sylveon's feelers which it fired at Zekrom knocking it out in one shot. Haru recalled Zekrom slightly disappointed he was the first one on his team to be defeated. "Croagunk use Sludge Bomb on Darmanitan, Brock commanded. Croagunk opened its mouth and fired a ball of brown sludge that hit Darmanitan right between the eyes. "Quick while its distracted finish it off with Shadow Ball," Calem called out. Sylveon opened its mouth and formed purple ball of energy coated in black static which it then fired at Darmanitan causing it to faint.
J POV
"The second match is now over. The winners are Brock and Calem," I announced I watched as the trainers recalled their Pokémon and then walk into the centre of the battlefield to congratulate it. So far it seemed like the 2 pair that's had moved on to the next rounds might be able to give me what I crave but only time would tell.
Normal POV
"That was a great battle you two," Calesta told Brock and Calem. Brock just smiled while Calem responded "Thanks, you both did great too". "You threw us a few times with your Pokémon which actually made the match more fun," Haru told Calem with a grin then asked "So Calem will you tell us where you're from now?" Calem shot a glance at J, shook his head and responded "Sorry Haru not yet. I don't think our…" he paused for a moment to think of the right word to use then continued "host would like that". Haru nodded and the four trainers made their way into the stands. "Will the trainers who are to participate in the third match take the field?" J called out. Dawn, Cynthia, Ruby and Sapphire then made their way down onto the battlefield and prepared to start the next battle.
