Severus: Token
A ribbon was interwoven between the boy's fingers.
"Oh Sev! You got it!"
He rubbed the old frayed the thing in remembrance of cheerier times.
"Let's pretend you're a knight and I'm a lady! Here – you keep that. It's a token of my affection."
The memory used to bring slight color to his cheeks. Tears slid down them now.
"Keep it forever and ever Sev! Don't lose it!"
"What if I fall out of your favor, sweet Lady?"
"That'll never happen, dear knight. But if so…keep it, Sev. Always."
Severus sniffed and clutched it more tightly, crumpling it. Forever…
