Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars or Jedi Apprentice, I know it's a bummer but I don't so its fan fic for now.
Obi-Wan parried the laser fire with his famed jedi reflexes. He was fighting back to back with his fellow jedi, Siri. Obi-wan had to admit he was concerned, this was the biggest battle he had seen, and over the years he had seen a few. Had he not have been completely taken by the battle he would have had a lot to meditate over. When they had entered the arena he had seen Anakin kiss Padme, as a jedi night he could not let that slip but, he himself was not exactly one to talk.
"Are, you waiting for a cup of Muja juice or something?" Siri screamed at him from the republic's aircraft that had just landed. Only Siri could use that sarcastic humour in a battle such as this.
Obi-wan reflected three laser pellets that hit three super droids, used a force wave to knock down a further four battle droids and swung himself into the rising craft all at once. Still blocking fire he spoke "Are you ok?" Siri tossed her hair out of her face, "Yeah, that was some battle, wasn't it?
I hate running away though.." Obi-wan cut her off "We need to retreat, this isn't a war we can win on the battlefield."
Pulling a face indicating she reluctantly agreed with him Siri grumbled "Still, I'd rather be cutting down those droids."
They were both silent for a moment busy with the fire blasting at them. They were just about to pass out of the range of the guns over the crest of a giant sand dune when Obi-wan saw Siri's sriking features freeze in shock as she tumbled out of the rising craft.
In a split second Obi-wan grabbed her, but he too lost his balance. Using the force to soften their landing they thudded into the sand and plummeted haphazardly down the side of the dune.
Obi-wan rolled off Siri and spoke, "Sorry, about that what happened?"
When Siri didn't reply Obi-wan sat up and looked at her, her bold blue eyes were unusually unfocused. "Oh no, Siri please." Obi-wan almost choked, Siri had been hit badly with a blaster.
"I'm sorry Obi-wan… I was too slow" Obi-wan had never heard Siri sound so vunerable.
"Bbut I can't live with out you," Obi-wan cradled Siri's head, "I sti-" Siri's moan stopped him "We chose to live as jedi, that path we could not follow."
Siri closed her eyes " I just need some rest." Obi-wan knew it was too late for her but, he still placed a hand on hers calling on all the force he could channel to heal her.
He stroked her hair as tears formed in the corners of his eyes. They dripped down his face.
Siri's eyes fluttered and she wheezed "I always… loved you Obi-" Siri didn't breathe in again.
Obi-wan clenched his fists, "I will always love you Siri." he said to her corpse. Unable to deal with the loss he screamed.
Her violet lightsaber was resting on the ground, fallen from her hand. Obi-wan gripped it, wishing with all his power, life and soul he could bring her back or join her.
Over head Obi-wan heard the battle coming closer to where he was experiencing his loss. Moving Siri's body out of sight he pocketed her saber and ran back into the battle.
Moments later he met up with Anakin and Padme. Obi-wan drove back into the battle mowing down droids like a super jedi. With the force absent his whole mind was consumed by one thing, NOT SIRI NOT SIRI.
A/N Hey people I was concerned with getting the chracters right so feel free to tell me what you think. I did the maths and I have only had 1 review every 28 people that read this.
