It all seemed to surreal and ridiculous; for Alexis to feel affection for Zane Truesdale, When they have conversed, it was about serious matters regarding Duel Academy and nothing else. However, Alexis found herself to be both intrigued and pulled by the mysterious qualities Zane seemed to possess.
Even if Zane had loved her in secret, which she knew was the last thing on his mind; she just couldn't grasp the reality of that. It just wouldn't work. Zane was now the Hell Kaiser and she… she was just the Queen of Obelisk Blue. Besides, they both have to sharpen their skills in dueling and unknown destinies in their lives. Some things were just more important than fairy tale romances and fantasies.
Yes, the risk of falling for one who might never love you back is the risk one might have to take. But sadly, Alexis just wouldn't know how she would handle Zane's cold indifference. He is serious in his dueling as he is determined to be amongst the elite, even if he had to severe ties with all who have known him, especially his little brother Syrus. Perhaps it would be best to keep her emotions bottled up before she did something foolish, possibly endangering him and herself in the process. If she had told him how she felt, she only knew that there would only be the bitter taste of blood left instead of him.
Alexis knew that she couldn't do anything if nothing had been said, but if she looked into Zane's supposedly icy eyes, she would see that her feelings wouldn't be so ridiculous after all. She would know that there would be someone for her always, even if he wasn't the one.
