Chapter One:
"Serena, sweetie, don't want to at least brush your hair before you leave? It's so-"
"Mhm, I have to go Mom. I'll see you in a couple of months, okay?" she cooed in between large bites of a butter croissant while hurriedly running her fingers through her beautiful blonde waves.
"Two months? And might you enlighten me on where you'll be?"
"The Hamptons, remember?" Love you, bye!" Serena smiled innocently and blew her mother a kiss, briskly backing out of the room before she could comment on her appearance for the millionth time that morning.
Gently closing the door, Serena rested her head, sighing. She so glad to escape from her family for the summer. With Blair and Chuck gone together (how weird was that?!) and Eric free of his secret, Serena could relax for once. She knew that they would be alright without her for a little while. Another upside was that Nate would be in the Hamptons for the entire summer as well. She felt the need to admit that she wanted to get closer to him, even if it was only to herself. Dan wasn't planning on hooking up with her again any time soon, that was for sure. So what better way to forget him than give into her feelings that now seemed to have never quite faded...?
As she headed outside to call for a taxi to the airport, her brand new iPhone began to vibrate and ring in her bag. Once she finally retrieved it from the clutter, she saw that Blair was the one called. Hmm, taking the time to call her instead of doing god know what with dear Chuckles? Must be important, she thought, giggling.
"B, hey!" she greeted her cheerily, expected the same excitement in return. This was far from what she heard on the other line.
