He will never forget that face as long as he lived. The smug look he gave everyone he met thinking he was better than them. The high pedestal he put himself on. That mask he wore to make everyone believe he was a trust worthy person. But he knew his true face and the things he was capable of.
That's why J.R told Alex to go inside the station as he went after him. Alex didn't know what was going on and she didn't want leave him, but she didn't have much of a choice as she lost him in the crowd. The only thing she could do was go back to the loft. By the time she got back it was almost dark.
"Alex, where have you been and wasn't J.R with you?" Theresa asked as Alex walked in through the front door.
"We just went for a walk." Alex said going to the couch where Justin was. "And he had to go somewhere." Alex added. "Well, try telling that to your father when he comes upstairs after closing." Theresa said as she went upstairs.
Alex sighed as she sat down next to Justin. He noticed something was wrong and decided to see what was wrong.
"What's wrong Alex?" He asked.
Alex looked at him with tired eyes and debated in her mind if she should tell him or not. She didn't think J.R would appreciate her blabbing to everyone about him. Then again, Justin wasn't the type to gossip.
Besides talking to Justin might help, he always knows what to do. Alex smiled a little at that.
"Justin…if I weren't in your life anymore…what would you do?" Justin looked at her strangely for a few seconds and then smiled.
"I would say it was a dream come true!" Justin said excitedly.
"Justin, I'm serious." Alex said getting annoyed.
"So am I. There wouldn't be anymore insults, no more pranks, no more getting everything your way and so much more." He said smiling, looking up imagining how life would be. He failed noticed how her face fell as he said that.
"Am I really that annoying to you?" Alex said sounding a little hurt.
Justin smile faded when he saw her hurt expression. He didn't mean to make her sad. He was just saying what siblings usually say, like they always did. He didn't think she would take it seriously, but he should've known better when she asked that question without sounding like her usual Alex self.
"Yes…" He answered.
That confirmed what he thought of her. She looked down trying to hide from him how sad that made her feel. "But I guess I would also miss you." She quickly looked up surprised. "I mean if you weren't in my life it would sort of be boring. If you weren't here things would be very dull. You make my life interesting and…"
"And what?" Alex asked urging him.
"And I can't imagine my life without you in it." He said sincerely.
Alex smiled and instantly hugged him which surprised him a little. After a few seconds she felt him hug her back. Before Alex let go she started to feel the same warmth from earlier which was really weird. It wasn't as warm as J.R's, but it was close. Alex closed her eyes and subconsciously let her body relax. The warmth felt so soothing she couldn't help it.

Ever since his family died he has always been asking why. Why did they have to die in the first place? For what reason? Was it because it was their time? Because if that was the case he couldn't accept that. He, however, got his answer later on.
After he learned what caused his family's death, or more precisely who, he started thinking different questions. He has been trying to figure out who this man was. Who was he? And why did he kill them? His family never did anything wrong, they never did any harm to anyone. Every time he started thinking about him these question would plague his mind. It was just a few years ago that he finally got an answer to one of the two, but even then it was just a partial answer. It turned out that the man was able to cover his tracks very well.
J.R thought he was going to have to wait and bide his time until that man made his move. However, he was greatly surprised when he saw him standing next to the sub station. It seemed he has been keeping an eye on them without them even knowing. But that didn't matter anymore because now he had the chance to end this without putting his family in any danger and he was going to take it.

"Um, Alex?"
His voice brought her back and noticed he already had let go. She was so caught up in trying to figure out why they felt so similar and most importantly why she felt so safe in their arms that she didn't feel him move.
After she unwrapped her arms, she felt her face heat up. Now she had a bigger question. Why the heck was she blushing! Her cheeks were a little red.
"Why did you ask that?"
"Huh?"
"Why did you ask me that question?" He repeated.
"Oh, it's just that well…" Alex was having a little bit of trouble trying to explain it.
"Huh?"
"You didn't answer how I wanted you to." It was the truth. He didn't answer how she wanted.

After losing Alex in the crowd J.R followed the man to a parking lot and saw him get inside his car. J.R had to find a way to be able to follow him while not being noticed and without wheels. That's why he was watching him drive out of the parking lot from the top of the building nearby.
He would have to do what he did a week ago

"How did you want me to answer?" Justin was confused. Alex sighed. She guessed she had to elaborate more.
"If something bad happened…If...we suddenly weren't there anymore?"
"What?"
"If dad, mom, Max, and me…If we were gone and you were left all alone…w-what would you do?" Alex stuttered a little at the end. Justin began to frown, not liking where this was going.
"I…I don't know." How can he answer to something like that? But by the looks of it, she wanted an answer.
"I wouldn't know what to do. I mean accidents happen, I guess…" He said slowly, not knowing what to say.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
J.R ran on the roofs along side the streets the man drove by. It was very hard trying to keep up with him with all the turns he made. The only small breaks he had was when the man hit a red light.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"What if it wasn't an accident? What if-" She said quickly, standing up. She was starting to sound a little hysteric.
"Alex, where is this coming from?" Justin said standing up. He didn't like where this was going. This was something he didn't like thinking about.
"Justin, just answer the question!" Alex raised her voice.
"How can I answer to something like that!?" He said matching her voice.
Justin looked at her straight in the eye trying to figure out what was going on with her. What did she want him to say?
"Will you just answer!"
"I don't know!" Justin walked away trying distancing himself from her.
"It's not that hard to answer a simple question Justin!" Alex didn't know why she was pushing this. She didn't know why she was getting angry, maybe it was because of the fact that she was afraid of what the answer might be.
"Yes, it is! It's not such a simple question!" Justin began to slowly pace back and forward while taking deep breaths trying to diminish his anger that was starting to surface. He wanted to cool down before he said something he would regret.
"Come on Justin, you're good at answering hard questions!" She taunted.

After some time of jumping roofs J.R saw that the sun's light was almost completely gone. When the darkness of night took over the sky J.R knew it was time. As he jumped of the edge of a building to another one that was far away, darkness began to engulf him. The darkness began to take form into his black coat. When he landed he was back into his hooded cloak with his hood on. During the day it made him stand out, but in the night he blended in perfectly.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
At this point both them didn't know or cared if someone could hear them. No one came down to check on them and see what all the shouting was about.
"Justin!" Alex said trying to get his attention. He looked at her, but didn't stop pacing.
"What if…" Alex started again.

The streets of New York were very illuminated by streetlights, stoplights, car lights, and lights from inside buildings. It became even brighter and noisier as he followed the man to the really crowded tall buildings. It was very noisy with all the cars and people in the streets. It became a bit difficult trying not to lose sight of the man in the sea of cars. J.R hoped that the man was near wherever he was going. He was heading to the part of the city that had very tall buildings that not even with magic he could reach.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"Dad…"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
J.R watched from a roof as the man came up the street. He turned and drove inside an underground parking lot to a very tall building. It was at least eighty stories high. By the looks of it, it looked like an office building that worked during the day. Most of the lights in the building were off.
J.R came down to the alley right across from the building and walked across the street to the main entrance. He took the opportunity that not many people were around and walked through the locked double glass door.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"Mom…"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
The main lobby was deserted and no one was at the front desk, but the lights were still on. J.R looked around and saw it was a very luxurious looking place. He walked towards the far wall that had a big black bulletin board cabinet with names and office locations. He scanned the board and his hands turned into fists when he spotted the name he was looking for. For a short second a small blue current of static electricity appeared around one of his fists. The lights in the floor began to flicker. He turned to his side and started walking down the hallway pass the main desk which made the computer monitor that was on the desk flicker.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"Max…"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
As J.R walked in the hall small currents of electricity began to appear and disappear everywhere, the walls, the floor, the ceiling. The lights didn't flicker anymore, but exploded from overpowering. The lights weren't the only things that overloaded. Just as the lights gave out so did the cameras in the halls. The rooms with computers that he passed didn't fare well either. The screens would turn on and began to crack until the screens shattered.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"And me…"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
In a dark covered hallway the elevator doors opened. J.R stepped out and stared at the double wooden door at the far end of the hallway. He began to walk in a steady pace neither fast nor slow. Electricity began to appear on his hands. At first it was small, but as he got closer it became bigger. Even though the electricity grew, it all stayed on his hands. Electricity shot everywhere making it the only source of light in the dark hall.
J.R was only a few feet away from the double doors and as he got closer, the power in his hands glowed brighter and started to move faster. It was as if it was begging to be let out. An uncontrollable force wanted to come out and destroy anything on its path. He stopped walking and stood right in front of the doors with all his power that wanted to be unleashed.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
Justin stopped pacing and held his head. He closed his eyes shut and looked down at the floor.
"…were taken out of your life because of someone!"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
J.R stood silently inside a big room dark room. The room had paintings on the wall that were very expensive no doubt. There was a giant screen on one of the walls. One of the walls wasn't exactly a wall, but a giant window. You could see the outside sky and from the view you could tell he was in a very high place. You could see most of the city from there along with all the people and cars that dwelled on it.
Near that wall there was a desk and behind it a big chair that wasn't facing J.R, but instead outside at the city. He began to walk slowly towards the desk without making a sound. As he got closer J.R could hear the man that was sitting on the chair talking to someone on the phone.
"Yes, I just came from observing them." The man said.
"Of course I'm going to be there, I have to." He continued after he listened to the other person on the phone.
"Are you going to have everything set up by the dead line?"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
Justin couldn't take it anymore, he couldn't help, but think if his spunky and beautiful sister…
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
J.R raised his right hand next to his face ready to strike and end this before the nightmare starts.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
his care free brother…
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
He was not going to hesitate; he has been waiting so long for this moment.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
his caring mother…
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
He could finally get his revenge. This man destroyed his life and he would wait no more.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
and his helpful dad…were gone…because of some heartless man! He didn't know what he would do without them.
He would…
He would…
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
His hand became surrounded with blue electricity.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
He quickly raised his head and looked straight at her with full hatred he didn't know he was capable of.
"I WOULD KILL HIM!!!"
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
He attacked.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
The entire living room was in completely silence. Alex felt like someone had knocked the air out of her and she slowly sat down on the couch. She couldn't understand why she was feeling like this. She knew what she was driving him to say, but it still made her feel sick.
Alex looked over at Justin, who was sitting at the far end of the couch. He had a look of disbelief written all over his face. He couldn't believe what he just said. They both sat in silence, not being able to face the other.
"Alex" "Justin" They both said at the same time, finally looking at each other. "You go first." Alex said.
"I'm sorry for yelling like that." He said apologetically.
"No, it was my fault. I provoked you."
"You mean like always." He said with a small smile. Slowly a smile began to form on Alex's mouth. "Yeah" She said softly. They scooted closer to each other and hugged.
I much more comfortable silence took over until they heard a voice.
"So does this mean the fight's over?" They heard Max's voice come from the stairs.
*--*--*--*--*--*--*
"…you'll finish what I started." That small statement made J.R freeze.
"Like I said before, I'm going to be there, but if the smallest chance that I can't make it, you'll have to make sure everything goes according to plan. I don't want there to be any loose ends."
This made J.R think. Even if he killed him whoever he was talking on the phone was going to do it even if this man was dead.
No
He would not let anything up to chance. He would wait and make his move when this man and whoever else was involved were all gathered in one place. And he knew exactly when they would gather. The day he has hated the most, the day that has caused him so many nightmares, the day they killed his family.
"Got it?" After he got his confirmation he turned his chair around and hanged up. He looked up and seemed a little startled with what he saw.
The dark room was completely empty of any sign of life except for his own, but...
"I don't remember turning on my computer." He said looking at the glowing screen. Something else caught his eye that was on the floor. He stood up and walked around his desk. He knelt down and picked up something.
"How did you get down here?" He shook his head and put it back on his desk.
It was his name tag.
Declan Malson.
