Twenty-one years after Katniss Everdeen won the 74th Hunger Games alone, Panem is preparing for another yearly spectacle. And this year, the Reaping falls on the eighteenth birthday of a girl in District Three who honestly thought she was safe. Kori Aoki is no genius. But she's physically stronger than many in her position, and that will have to do. Let the Games begin.

(Rewrite of the Blaine Abernathy Series.) Blaine is the daughter of Haymitch Abernathy and the 69th Hunger Game victor. Can she help Katniss and Peeta as their mentor during the Games, or will she and Haymitch be the only district twelve's victors?

An extended last chapter of Mockingjay, from "Peeta, bearing a warm loaf of bread, shows up with Greasy Sae," to "Real." The other fics I've seen move way too fast. I tried to incorporate everything from the last few paragraphs of the chapter, but extended over a few months. "The weird thing is, it feels kind of reassuring to have the flashbacks."

In silence, the first tick of the clock rings out. Dawn rises, but the Hunger Games steadily grind onward. The tributes stand in preparation for the journey ahead and Seneca Crane stretches out his hand. The gears slip forward and Gadget knows that the first hour is here.
