Weiss: Now, say it exactly like we rehearsed.
HiroNinja: *Sigh* Welcome back to 'What Once Was Lost.' I, HiroNinja, apologize for being unable to properly maintain a specified and regular update schedule for this series. Due to my... Weiss do I really have to-
Weiss: YES! Now SAY IT!
HiroNinja: OKAY, okay! Hrgh... Due to my foolishness in promising earlier updates, which I am incapable of following up on due to being a "complete dolt," updates for 'What Once Was Lost' will occur as time permits for myself, and for the mot wonderful Heiress, Weiss Schnee... HEY! We didn't agree on that last part!
Weiss: HiroNinja does not own RWBY or any of its characters.
HiroNinja: If I did I swear that Weiss wouldn't have made the final cut- *SMACK*
Weiss: Grrrrr...

Chapter 16: Not Your Average School Part II
"Oh, come on you two… It wasn't THAT bad."
I let out a sigh and moved the fork from one side of my mouth to the other with my tongue. Our three teams, aside from Ren and Nora, had met up at a single table after combat class together for lunch, where I had tried to focus on the plate of food in front of me. The two missing members from team JNPR were currently helping clean up the combat arena after a… mishap, during Nora's match.
"Aghh, that's easy for you to say Pyrrha. At least your match lasted the full two minutes…" I removed the utensil from my mouth, "We were practically a two man circus compared to you guys." I shoveled another forkful of food into my mouth, depressed. You could hardly call a match of any kind, I was just glad it was over.
Ema looked over at Jaune from beside me, "You don't think the same, d-do you, Jaune?"
Jaune let out a sigh dropping his head onto the table, "My shoe flew through the window when I tripped over my own shield…"
"And I slammed my head into the floor when I dove out of the way," I finished.
"O-Oh... right..." Ema silently returned to her meal.
The match between myself and Jaune was, in a word, embarrassing. After only a minute, the match had to be called off and we both received a good scolding by Professor Goodwitch, as well as remedial training on Saturday mornings until we improved.
"That toothpick of yours didn't exactly do you any good without any Dust to go with it, that's for sure." Romulus commented before biting into the remains of his steak, forgoing his utensils in favor of his bare hands.
Weiss watched the scene in disgust, "Your table-manners are disgraceful! How anyone can have an appetite around you is beyond me."
She was met by a shrug in response from the wolf faunus, "I don't see anyone else complaining about it, Ice Queen."
Weiss fumed at the boy, "Well I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it!" Her accusation was met with a few murmurs of agreement from around the table, causing Romulus to frown.
"Y-You do seem to make quite a mess when you eat like that…" Ema muttered. I could agree with that at least, the boy's mouth was surrounded by sauce. Romulus didn't seem to care in the least, though, and simply wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before licking it clean.
I rubbed the back of my head, "You could at least use a fork or something, Romulus."
Romulus waved off my comment uncaringly, "Hey, I don't tell anyone else how to eat THEIR food. So don't tell me how to eat mine."
"I don't understand what the big deal is," chided Weiss. "I mean, if Ema can manage to abide by simple mannerisms, surely you can."
Ema sunk slightly into her seat at the comment as Romulus leaned onto the table with a frown, "Was that a crack at us being Faunus, you bitch?"
The entire table shared looks of uncertainty as Weiss met Romulus's tone with her own, "Whether I am or not is irrelevant. You should consume your meals in the same respectful manner as everyone else." I could see the anger rising in their expressions, both of them wound up tighter than the bow on Blake's head.
I let out a sigh. I needed to defuse the situation before it got out of hand.
"Hold it!" I put my hands up towards them both, gathering their attention and stopping the argument quickly. "Can we just finish our meals in peace? I'd rather us not be constantly at each other's throats."
The pair glared at one another before returning to their respective plates.
Romulus quickly finished off the last of his meat-based lunch before speaking, "Getting back on topic, I still don't understand how you were able to hold your own yesterday and yet make a complete fool out of yourself in your match today." He looked in my direction curiously.
I rolled my eyes at him, "I'm just exhausted, okay? I've had to fight three times in three days with no real recovery time." I took a long sip of my water. Once I set it down, I found that the entire table was staring at me questioningly. "...what?" I asked, feeling like I was missing something.
"What are you talking about?" Ruby asked, "Your aura should have had you recovered in no time flat."
I practically broke out in a sweat at her statement, "O-Oh… You don't say? Hehehe…" I could already predict the outcome of this line of conversation...No psychic vision needed.
"Hold on…" Weiss shook her head, "You don't have your aura unlocked, do you?" She stood and placed her hands on her hips, "Why would you hide that from everyone?!"
Yang nodded in agreement, "Yeah! You could have really been hurt if you were up against someone stronger!"
Jaune visibly sunk at the unintentional insult.
"Does Professor Goodwitch know about this?" Pyrrha asked.
I gripped my cup of water, swirling the liquid inside around, "She… might have known about it… Yeah." I quickly waved my hands in front of my face to stop any outburst that was about to come from most of the group, "B-But It's nothing! Really! It's probably why she matched me up against Jaune in the first place!"
I could hear a groan from Jaune as his pride was struck lower.
"That doesn't make it any more okay." Romulus growled, "You should have at least been given time to rest instead of being thrown into the arena."
I let out a sigh, "I know… but there's no point in arguing with her, trust me. I'll be fine"
"In any case," Weiss leaned over the table, pointing her outstretched finger at me. "Why don't you have your aura unlocked in the first place? It would solve the problem, wouldn't it?"
Jaune sat straight and nodded his head. "That's a good point. Pyrrha, you could unlock it for him, couldn't you?"
"I don't see why not," Pyrrha smiled happily, "I could give it a try at least."
"W-Wait," I tensed up nervously, suddenly remembering what Dr. Night had said.
"The transition from the host's biological nervous system to the electrical signal of the replacement limb is a phenomenal development in the medical industry, but has been known to cause major problems in the usage of aura. One case being when a patient's aura was unlocked and they went as far enough to rip the appendage from their shoulder while it was still in sync with his body.
"There are a few other cases similar to that, but they all end about the same way. The soul does not extend through the machinery and it is rejected by the aura, causing intense pain to the host's mind and body."
I gulped.
Ruby jumped up excitedly, "Oh! Oh! Can I do it?! I've never unlocked someone's aura before!"
"G-Guys, I really don't-"
"Sure thing! Here, I'll walk you through it." Pyrrha and Ruby both stepped away from their seat, and before I knew it they were both dragging me to my feet as well.
"N-Now hang on just a-" I was cut off by Pyrrha guiding Ruby's hands to my head and chest. The two of us blushed slightly, but mine was purely out of panic.
"C'mon, Hot-Shot. It won't hurt! It'll actually help you out!" Yang clapped me lightly on the shoulder and stood by her sister while I sputtered, trying to find my words.
Pyrrha removed her hands, "Ruby, do you know what to say?"
"Yup!" Ruby nodded and closed her eyes. Romulus and Ema sat at the table, watching intently as I tried to pull the brakes on this thing before-
"For it is in pass-"
"STOP!"
I screamed and jumped back onto the table with wide eyes. I could practically feel her aura begin the process before I dove away. My breathing was erratic while most of the cafeteria stared at me and the remains of our food scattered on the table and floor.
I had actually knocked into Jaune in panic, causing him to fall from his seat, while the last of his plate had launched into Weiss. She was now covered in mashed potatoes and gravy…
My clothing didn't come away unscathed either, my entire backside was covered in a variety of flavors from lunch, leaving me with nothing clean to wear later aside from my uniform.
"A-Ah-ah-ha-" Weiss sputtered, seemingly unable to speak as she stared at her once pristine outfit. Ruby looked slightly put out from my retreat while Pyrrha had covered her mouth in shock from the display. Yang on the other hand…
"Rrrrggh… WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT?!" Yang, angry that I had basically insulted Ruby, grabbed my collar and pulled me up to her face. I could practically see flames in her eyes.
I held my hands up desperately in surrender, "Y-You don't understand! I was trying to tell you guys! I-I can't have my aura unlocked just yet!"
"OH YEAH?! WELL WHY NOT?!" Yang had her opposite hand pulled back in preparation to hit me. She didn't have her gauntlets, but it would still put me back in the infirmary for sure.
"Put him down!" from the side, Romulus's hands shot out and grabbed both of Yang's wrists in an attempt to free me from their grip.
"GLADLY!" Grabbing under his shoulder, Yang swung around, lifting the two of us up, before slamming Romulus and I onto the ground.
"Urghh…" Thankfully I had landed on top, but the throw had only added more pain to my already sore body. I shifted my head up to watch as Yang stood over us with red eyes.
"Yang! Stop!" From behind, Ruby wrapped her arms around her older sister and attempted to pull her away from us. Yang, heeding her sister's - and leader's - request, backed off, but did not lessen the glare she was giving us.
Ema rushed over and helped Romulus and I to our feet, Romulus made sure to stay between us and the others as he stood, though. As I straightened up, a sharp pain ran through my back, causing me to double over. Ema caught me and helped me stay standing.
"Are you okay?" She asked with a worried tone.
I nodded my head, "No, I'm fine. It's just my spine." I chuckled at my slight attempt at a joke, but stopped when it only made it worse.
"We need to get you to the infirmary. You're probably going to need to get looked at." The mouse faunus pulled me closer in an attempt to even out my weight on her shoulder.
"I'll go too." Blake, having been quiet up until now, stood from the less destroyed section of the table as she closed her book. She looked in mine and Ema's direction, "I can help carry him and show you how to get there."
I could have said something back, since I knew the way to go already, but I felt like she wanted more than just to help, and I was going to have to face her sooner or later. I nodded in response.
Blake shifted me onto her shoulder and the three of us made our way from the room while the sound of arguing broke out between the remaining team members.
=||-{([O])}-||=
I laid face down on the examination table as Dr. Night applied another set of bandages to my body. The effects of the dust could be felt instantly, and made it feel like burning ice. It was relaxing and definitely rid me of some pain, I let out a grateful sigh.
"You need to ease up on the fighting if you want to stop ending up here." Night said, 'as-a-matter-of-factly'.
I groaned, "Tell that to everyone else in this school and maybe I'll take you up on that…"
Doctor Night chuckled and helped me sit back up. My upper body was exposed as my shirt hung from a nearby hook, drying after being generously cleaned of leftover food. The examination room might as well have been my second home due to how often I was visiting it.
Ema and Blake chose to sit out in the waiting room until they were informed of my condition. Ema was there because she was my teammate and wanted to make sure I was okay. Blake… probably wanted answers. Luckily my injuries weren't anything serious and would just require time to fully heal, but that wasn't anything new for me. I could leave once the documentation was completed.
"Do you want me to let the two girls in?"
I looked up and nodded, "Yeah… One at a time though, if you don't mind."
"Sure thing." She smiled and turned to collect the first visitor. I turned and eased myself onto my back, feeling the dust-bandages press against my skin.
"Ahhh...:" It felt nice.
At the sound of the door opening I looked over and saw Ema walk in. She had a relieved smile on her face as she walked over to where I was. "Are you feeling any better?"
I nodded, "Yeah. You should see the other guy."
Ema chuckled, "What, you mean the floor?"
"Yup," I laughed, "The poor guy didn't know what hit him." Soon the room was filled with our laughter as I quickly lightened up the moment.
"Hehe, are you sure you didn't hit your head or anything?" Ema joked.
I shook my head as she carefully helped me sit up. "Thanks for helping me out."
"N-Not at all!" She stuttered, face turning slightly pink. "Besides, you've done so much for me already, I'm just glad I could return the favor." Her hands were clasped in front of her as she spoke.
"Well I appreciate it nonetheless." As I moved to stand up, Ema rushed to my side to help.
"Be careful, you really shouldn't be moving around so much." She said, worriedly.
I chuckled, "I'm fine. I'll be able to leave soon anyways." I pointed up towards a hanging clock, "Though, you should probably meet back up with the others for class. Can't have BOTH of us being late now."
A look of remembrance hit Ema as she realized what time it was, "Y-You're right! I must have lost track of time, I'm sorry!"
"Hey, hey. Don't worry about it," I waved it off, "I'll catch up with you once I'm done here."
"R-Right! See you soon!" Ema turned and jogged out of the room.
I took a deep breath and began to focus on what I was going to say to Blake, who was sure to be on her way in any second now. I suppose I could just spill the beans about everything and use the fact that she was a faunus as insurance to keep it a secret. Though, that seemed a tad excessive, and I hoped it didn't have to come to that.
My ears perked up at the sound of someone entering the room. I looked from the bedside as the faunus in hiding strode over to stand across from me. Wordlessly, she crossed her arms with an annoyed expression, awaiting an explanation.
I let out a sigh and conceded defeat, it was going to be too much of a hassle to pretend that there wasn't anything to reveal to her. Plus, she probably wouldn't believe me anyways.
"Look, if you want me to tell you the truth, you need to sit down and trust what I'm about to say."
Blake rose an eyebrow at me but complied, the look of distrust still planted firmly on her face.
We sat across from each other, me on the bed, she in a visitor's chair. The clock ticked endlessly on the wall as I collected myself to speak, taking a deep breath before beginning.
"About a week ago, I woke up in Vale with no idea of where I was, or even WHO I was." Blake's eyes scrunched up at my tale but I continued on before she could speak up.
"Luckily enough, I only stumbled around the city for a minute or two before I was found by Headmaster Ozpin, who was kind enough to offer me something to drink at a local diner. After a bit of an… incident, I was given a place to stay with the owner while I waited for my memories to return. I'd help out around the shop in the morning, and he let me live in his spare room."
Blake seemed to be analyzing every word that I said, untrusting, but allowing me to continue.
"Over the few days I was there, I barely remembered much more than my own name. And the things I did remember usually consisted of names and places that I don't recall, for obvious reasons of course." I stood and walked over to the counter, picking up my mostly-dry shirt, carefully sliding it back on and turning back to Blake.
"Beacon Academy seemed to be my best chance to find out more about myself, and I was fortunate enough to be granted permission to come attend classes thanks to Ozpin. But… the more I seem to remember while I'm here, the less sense things seem to make." I returned to my seat on the bed and stared at the floor.
"I was hoping that someone here would recognize me or know who I am, but I'm the one who seems to know more about who people are instead. Heh, honestly I wish I could tell you how I knew who you are, Blake. I really do."
I picked up my head and stared into Blake's amber-colored eyes, her expression slightly softer than when she first walked in, "I promise I won't tell anyone about… Well… You know." I motioned to her bow, receiving a knowing nod in response. "But I really can't explain why I know the things I do. Once I remember how, I promise I'll let you know, I really hope you understand."
My explanation was as simple as I could make it, as trying to explain the unexplainable wasn't something I could go into detail with. I was just glad I got some of that off my chest, even if she didn't believe me.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...amnesia?"
"Yep."
"No memory of your past?"
"That's right."
"Yet you know who we are?"
"About sums it up."
"Are you lying to me?"
"Nope."
"Honestly?"
"Completely."
"Why should I believe you?"
"Do you need more proof?"
"It wouldn't hurt."
It was a brutal game of question and answer that would have made any onlookers dizzy. Blake's glare didn't recede as she interrogated me profusely, but I needed something else to prove that I knew the impossible.
I shook my head, "I can't just force memories to the surface like that. If I could, I wouldn't be in this situation."
"Well you'd better be really good at guessing then." Her response was as sharp as knives. I had to force myself to resist flinching.
I groaned looked around the room desperately, looking for something to evoke more memories to the surface. I could feel my head pound as I strained to remember anything.
"I'm waiting..." Blake said.
My eyes jumped from object to object as I looked for clues of the past. The window? No…
Not the sink either… Maybe the posters on the wall?
...eww, no. Remind me never to become a doctor…
Eventually my eyes settled on a small pile of books tucked neatly against the wall. Something about the books tickled at my mind as I looked back to Blake.
"...books? You like books right?"
Blake merely rolled her eyes at me, "That's not really that hard to figure out. Many students at Beacon like books."
I groaned and stared back at the books again, yearning for them to tell me something else.
"You like… fictional… books?" All I received was another glare and a second strike against my claims. I rubbed my forehead and closed my eyes.
I… I could see Blake holding a stack of books. I was blurry, but… I could see it.
One by one the books disappeared from the image as my mind slowly began to give up on the memory. No, I just need… a little more…
I blacked out.
=||-{([O])}-||=
When I awoke I was on my knees with Blake's arm wrapped around me, keeping me from falling to the floor. She had a worried look, but I was just glad she caught me in time. Getting injured in the nurse's office would be extremely ironic, and embarrassing.
"How long was I out this time?" I groaned, rubbing my eyes.
Easily, Blake stood me back to my feet and leaned me against the bed, "Only a few seconds. Are you okay?"
…
"...Ninjas."
Blake rose an eyebrow at me, "Excuse me?"
I felt my cheeks heat up a bit, "Ninjas… Ninjas of Love… That's one of the books you're reading… Right?"
…
I could practically feel the awkward silence creep across the room.
When I looked back up I met the confused and mortified expression of a certain feline faunus who just had another one of her secrets blown out of the water by yours truly.
"H-How… How did you-"
"You most likely keep it hidden behind your other books so no one sees it," I took a deep breath, "I remembered you putting it away when you unpacked yesterday."
Blake's eyes went wide, "H-How would you even see that? You weren't even- My teammates didn't even see where I put it!" I just shook my head in response.
Blake was distraught, I could tell. But, the truth was out there now in more ways than one, and she would now have to either accept that or not. I picked up the small glass of water from the bedside and downed the whole thing in one go.
I let out a sigh as the glass left my lips, "Please don't make me remember anything else… I'd rather not have to spend the night in here…"
I returned the glass and set down the empty container, when I looked back at Blake her face was flushed, "I-I'll have you know that the series is a romantic masterpiece! I don't care what anyone else says about it, it's not that kind of book!"
Wow, I didn't know that something could make her break her serious facade like that. I waved my hand at her to try and ease the tension.
"Relax, I'm not in any position to begin judging actual books by their covers, okay?" I stood and stretched my back, careful of my sores. "Do you at least believe me now? I'd really like for you to not stare at me like I'm going to kill somebody every day."
Blake looked me up and down as some of the color returned to her face, trying to sense any kind of ill intent from my words.
"Can we please just be friends… or at least not enemies any more?" I reached out my hand as a sign of mending our relations. She hesitated, understandable given what she just heard, before reaching out and returning the gesture. I smiled before she pulled me closer, whispering into my ear.
"Tell anyone and I'll knock even more of your memories from your head."
I shivered in fear, but nodded, "Fair. I'd like to keep my issue a secret a bit longer too as well."
Blake nodded and released my hand just as Doctor Night walked back into the room with a folder of papers.
"I'm glad to see you're up and about, Mr Colton. If you're feeling up to it, you can return to your classes for the day, just refrain from any excessive physical activity for the time being." She placed a set of pages on the counter for me to sign and turned towards Blake with a smile.
"Miss Belladonna, I've attached a note for you as well to excuse your tardiness from class."
"Thank you." Blake gave a small bow.
I passed one of the pages to the Doc and folded the second into my pocket for class, "Thanks again Doc, any chance I can get a bed with my name on it next time?" I asked jokingly.
Doctor Night laughed, "Well, if we continue to meet like this we might as well. Have a great rest of the day, you two." Smiling, she left the room.
I shook my head with a smile of my own, "Come on, we'd better get to class."
Blake nodded, "Right."
As we made our way out into the hall, I stopped.
Turning to Blake I spoke, "Thanks for giving me a chance."
Blake shook her head, "Consider it an apology for acting so harshly towards you the last few days."
The two of us shared a smile and made our way towards class.
=||-{([O])}-||=
Ema sat diligently beside Romulus, trying her absolute hardest to keep up with the hyperactive Professor that was zooming to and from around the front of the room. Her hand never stopped moving across the page as she attempted to write down everything she possibly could.
She had managed to change into her new school uniform with enough time to make it to class just seconds before the bell rang. Sitting close by was the members of team RWBY minus the B, with team JNPR sitting in the row behind them. Everyone was in a similar state as they struggled to take notes. Even Weiss, the scholar that she was, found it nearly impossible to keep up with the amount of information pouring from the professor's mouth.
Occasionally, the green-haired man would take a small sip from his drink, giving the class just enough time to turn to a new page before he took off again. How anyone could have that much energy was an enigma to everyone present.
Ema's mouse ears twitched as she heard the classroom's door handle turn, opening to allow two students to enter.
To her relief, Hiro walked in, causing a smile to rush to her face. Next to her, Romulus gave a smirk of his own before returning to his reclined position. The two of them were still wearing their combat attire, meaning they must have come directly from the infirmary.
"I told you he'd be alright." He said.
"Y-Yeah. You were right." Ema nodded before returning to her notes. The entire class was thankful for the brief interruption, giving them the opportunity to stretch and rest their sore wrists and fingers.
"Mr. Colton and Miss Belladonna, I presume?" The hyper professor was before them in an instant, startling the duo and causing them to share a look before speaking.
"Y-Yes, that's us sir," Hiro replied, reaching into his pocket. "We have a note-"
The paper was quickly grabbed and opened up as the professor read over it quickly.
After a moment he looked back up to them, "Very well then. Take your seats, students. From this point forward you will refer to me as Doctor Oobleck, or if you so wish, Doctor will work just fine. Now, moving on-" Doctor Oobleck was before the class once again as he continued with his lecture on the Great War, pencils once again scratching away notes as the newcomers took their seats next to their teams.
Hiro sat next to Ema who had once again began scribbling away. During one of the pauses in the lecture, Ema took the chance to look up at her teammate. Hiro seemed to have an intense look on his face as he kept track of where the instructor was moving around to.
Ema nudged his arm, getting his attention and motioning to her notes in question.
Hiro simply shrugged and put his hands up, showing that he did not have any note-taking gear. Ema shook her head and handed him a spare sheet and a pen from her bag, urging him to use them.
Accepting the offering, Hiro looked over at Romulus, who had fallen asleep at this point, and raised his eyebrow. Ema could do little more than sigh and shrug back before returning to her notes.
The class eventually ended with the ring of the bell, allowing a majority of the class to collapse onto their desks or massage their cramping hands. Teams RWBY and JNPR, as well as Hiro and Ema were no exception.
"My hand feels like it's about to fall off…" Ruby muttered, head on her desk. The young leader received several groans in agreement from the three teams.
"I never thought taking notes could hurt that much…" Weiss said.
As the students slowly made their way to their feet, Ema took a glance at Hiro's sheet of paper. It was a mess of sloppy handwriting and scratched out words and arrows pointing every which way. She began to wonder just how much her friend had understood the lecture at all. At least it was better than Romulus, who was now stretching after his nap and moving for the door without them.
This action did not go unnoticed by Hiro, who sat up in his seat, "Romulus? Where are you going?"
The wolf boy shrugged as he continued walking, "I need to go let off some energy. I'll be in the training hall if you need me." With that, Romulus disappeared into the hallway.
Ema turned to Hiro, "Should we stop him? W-We really should get a head start on our assignment for Monday."
Hiro let out a sigh and got to his feet, "Honestly, I'd be joining him if I wasn't so banged up. Let him enjoy himself for a little while. He'll have plenty of time to work on it later." The red and brown-haired boy let out a stretch, eliciting a few pops from his stiff joints before continuing, "C'mon. We can go to the library to check out the books we need."
Hiro folded his sheet of notes into his back pocket and made for the door. Ema quickly gathered up her belongings before slinging her small bag over her shoulders and following him out of the classroom.
The two bid farewell to their fellow teams and made their way side-by-side through the halls towards the library. The silence in the air made it slightly awkward the longer they walked.
"So… How are you liking Beacon so far?" Hiro asked, trying to break the silence.
Ema looked up at the taller boy, "It's different from what I expected."
"Oh yeah?" He replied, "How so?"
"Well, it's much bigger than I originally imagined, I'm lucky not to have gotten lost yet," Ema replied, hands clinging to the straps of her bag.
It still felt like a dream, being there. Just last week she was little more than just another no face student training to be a Huntress along with her peers. Nothing ever quite going right for her or the way she had intended, the last thing she'd ever expected was to be an actual student at Beacon.
Hiro waved the comment off with a smile, "Don't worry, there's still plenty time for us to get lost, I'm sure," The two chuckled at the joke as they rounded the next corner. "You know, you really need to smile more, Ema," continued Hiro, "You always look so down, and your smile is really nice."
Ema looked down, hiding her face, "W-Well, it's just that I-I don't find everything as amusing as you do, I-I guess."
Hiro was always so kind to her, always trying to help. It was only last week he had come to her rescue in the park. Her and…
She shook the thought from her head, it was too soon to think about it.
Hiro frowned, "What's not to be happy about. I mean, you've made it to Beacon, made some new friends, beat those bullies back at Signal in your first actual battle. Heck, that last one even made Romulus happy," He added.
Ema didn't lift her head, "Well...I suppose it was nice to finally stand up to their bullying…"
Hiro smirked, "Well there you go. See, it's not so bad now right?"
A small smile formed on Ema's face, "Y-Yeah… I guess you're right."
"Well then," Hiro placed his hands behind his head, "let's go ahead and get those books, shall we?"
Ema nodded happily in agreement, "Yes, sir!" Hiro was right, maybe things weren't so bad after all.
Hiro placed his hand on his chin, "Come to think of it, once we get everything we need, why not head back to the room and write a letter? You can send it to that guy I met you with at the park before," Hiro dropped his fist into his open palm, "Maybe Ruby has a few envelopes you can use as well! And we- ...Ema?"
Hiro turned around to find that Ema had stopped dead in her tracks. Her bangs covered her eyes as she solemnly hung her head low, her smaller body shaking just slightly. Hiro's eyes widened in regret as he realized he had made a mistake.
He reached out his hand towards the girl, "Ema… Ema, I'm sorry, I didn't mean-" Hiro's hand grabbed nothing but air as the space before him was quickly mouse faunus disappeared down the hallway, a trail of teardrops in her wake.
"I didn't know…"

Weiss: Now, what did we learn today?
HiroNinja: *Rubbing sore cheek* The heiress is always right... no exceptions.
Weiss: Good. Now, why don't you read the reviews from last chapter?
HiroNinja: Yes ma'am...
SakuraNights01:
HiroNinja: That kitchen set DID sound extremely useful. I'm sure we could make some awesom-
Weiss: No.
HiroNinja: W-Wha?
Weiss: There will be no cooking of any kind on my watch. You literally could burn cereal for breakfast.
HiroNinja: Aww...
Flamewing98:
HiroNinja: I'm not being too hard on myself, I have Weiss here to do that for me. Bow-chicka bow- *SMACK* -OW! Dammit Weiss, WHY?!
Weiss: Pervert.
Iron-ninja:
*SMACK*
HiroNinja: OW! What the hell, Weiss?!
Weiss: What? He asked me to slap you. I was just being courteous.
HiroNinja: EVIL!
5 Coloured Walker:
HiroNinja: Okay, step aside, Weiss, this is good question/review here.
So, originally, I was planning something completely different for the whole team thing, namely being just adding Hiro to an existing team. That was the plan, but after a while I sorta shifted to making an entire team for Hiro to be with. I also have some plot ideas that are dozens of chapters ahead of where I am right now that requires more characters to pull off, so in the end, I decided that it would be a better decision. And also, yes, there are only 3 team members FOR NOW. :3
Weiss: ...I didn't know you put so much thought into this.
HiroNinja: Meh, I just don't talk about the future of the story much.
HiroNinja: So that's about it for today.
OH! One more thing! Flamewing98, the true creator of Romulus Lycanus, made a bit of a prequel/back-story for the wolven warrior. The story is called, "The Legion Calls," and can be found on his account to read.
It's a oneshot, so it can be read pretty quickly, but it is definitely a story you should read if you want more Romulus in your life. I actually go to that story CONSTANTLY to find ant information on him that may have slipped my mind. So yeah, check it out!
Weiss: Time to wrap it up, Mr Author.
HiroNinja: Oh, so I'm 'Mr Author' now? Why the change of names?
Weiss: Don't push it you idiot.
HiroNinja: There's the Weiss we know and loath. *Smack* Worth it.
Weiss: Stay Cold everyone.
HiroNinja: Was that a pun? *Smack*
