Hey everyone, I'm bored. I decided to write this just because I was bored. So here we go. I'm just gonna talk about some little things on this side of Fanfiction that really annoy me or irk me in some way.

A Fox's Rants and Rages and Reviews
by Gold the Fox
Question/ask stories. To be honest, most of them on here aren't bad in any way. Some actually move the plot of the main story ahead in some way. However, it is kinda ridiculous when they get up to 100s of reviews. I mean seriously people, we are supposed to be writing STORIES, not being the host of a talk show. If you want to allow viewers to ask the cast questions, that's fine, but do it in a PM or something. Actually, now that I think about it, they DON'T really move the plot in any way. If someone asks a question to...I don't know, Sonic...about if he likes Rainbow Dash in the main story, what the hell is the point of the story if the readers already know the answer? Or if the author chooses NOT to answer the question for the sake of the plot, what the hell was the purpose of the question?! Between not being able to answer actual big questions that could spoil the plot and questions that have nothing to do with the plot at all, it seems rather pointless. All it does is tell you stuff that YOU ALREADY KNOW BECAUSE YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN READING THE ACTUAL BOOK! You wanna know what Sonic thinks of Amy in the story? READ THE STORY! Wanna know why Tails decided to self-destruct his machine? READ THE STORY! Don't just ask like that, making it so easy! The fun of reading these stories is to assume and theorize WHY something happened, or be left in suspense when the author FINALLY tells you why something happened via the story. NOT JUST SIMPLY ASK! Wait...could the ask/question stories just be another way to advertise a work by the author? Could they just be advertisements? I don't know, do you?
Sonic and Rainbow Dash romance stories. Again, these stories ARE NOT BAD! THEY AREN'T! The authors who write them are awesome and have some amazing writing skills, but WHY ARE THERE SOOOOO MANY?! It's ridiculous! It reminds me of all the oversaturated Shadamy fanfictions that are in the Sonic stories...eek.
People who HATE the Sonic and RD romance stories. Wait, what? I'm being a hypocrite to...myself? How...actually, it's possible. The REASON why there are so many is because WE WERE BORN FROM IT! Jeez, I feel like Bane. Without the shipping of these two, we wouldn't even be here today! Even look at all the top reviewed stories! Most of them have some sort of Sonic and RD shipping in it, and that is because WE WOULDN'T BE HERE WITHOUT IT. That said, some stories that DON'T showcase it are often left in the dust, which is sad. And the stories ARE GOOD! It's kinda a double problem here. We should be appreciating ALL the stories, Sonic and Rainbow centered ones, stories that aren't centered with it but have it, and stories without it.
Tiny reviews. Picture this. You have just written a HUGE AND ACTION AND TENSION PACKED CHAPTER! And puff your chest out to yourself in glory of the masterpiece you have created. You ceremoniously put your finger up while at your computer, ready to submit it. And it has been submitted. An hour later, you see a review pop up in your e-mail. And the review is: Great chapter! I have seen this happen in MANY stories by MANY authors and MANY reviewers do it. I understand that you may not have enough time to review a giant chapter in one sitting, but at least mention something that happens in the chapter so it shows that you put in effort: That was awesome! I loved the part where RD took on that whole robot army by herself! Or something like that.
Script format. It actually doesn't bother me that much. It kinda just pokes at my literary sense and makes it mad. See, it is really hard to convey feelings when you have script format. You may be able to do the *asterisks* thing to show some emotion, but it isn't as strong as it is in normal format. Let me give you an example.
Script: Rainbow Dash: *sobbing and stuttering* But-but-but, I thought you loved me Sonic!
Normal: "But-but-but, I thought you loved me Sonic!" Rainbow Dash quivered in the rain, her ears drooping down as she sobbed quietly.
You judge which one is better. However, I do understand that many people don't have the time to write in the normal format, which is fine, I can relate.
People saying 'Sonic and Rainbow Dash are overdone!'. Yes, I'm going back to the shipping, don't sue me. I think 'overdone' is not the right word to use in this context. I would rather say 'Sonic and Rainbow Dash is done a lot.' Overdone implies that it so done to death that it becomes lifeless and stale and there is nothing that ANYONE could do to make it interesting. WRONG. It's all about *Spongebob voice* imaaaaaaagination. People can twist, turn, stretch and pull anything in any way if they have the imagination to do so. Want proof? Radicool's All The Elements of Disaster. Not gonna spoil it, but maybe it will change your mind on the whole 'overdone' thing. Also, again, it is done a lot because IT WAS THE ORIGINAL REASON FOR SONIC CROSSOVER WITH MLP.
Some shippings. I've already explained that I don't really like FlutterTails or Shadlight. However, there are other shippings that really twist my...screws. Ha, you thought I was gonna say something dirty. Anyways, the one shipping that really does this is...well...Sonlight (Sonic and Twilight). Hold on a sec. *ducks while machine guns shoot at the wall behind me* If you get that reference, you get a cookie. I already know that if any of the "big" authors see this, that I will get shot at or disliked. But I don't really get it. "Gee, let's see, we need a goooooood shipping...OH I KNOW! LET'S JUST PUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS TOGETHER AND BAM! LUNCH BREAK EVERYBODY!" This is always what I think of when I think of Sonlight. And YES, I know that this isn't the reason why Sonlight is a thing. It's either for A) So people can have something to combat Sondash with and be 'apart from the crowd' or B) because Sonic can teach Twilight about being adventurous and believing in themselves and some other lessons. Seems that most authors use reason B but a lot of 'Sondash haters' use reason A. I may be wrong, but whatever. I DO SEE why they can work, that is true. I just don't like it. Plain and simple.
Stories or chapters that are based on MLP episodes. Not many have done this, but it can turn out bad or good. An good example would again be Radicool's story. A BAD example would be to just add Sonic into an episode with no reason or change in the episode. Seriously guys, come up with your own plot, don't just steal from the show! Unless you make huge changes or interesting sub-plots involving Sonic, try not to do this.
People who hate Sally. WHY. That's all I ask, WHY! To me, she is a hell of a lot better than Amy. Amy is just Amy the fangirl most of the time. But Sally actually has CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. "OH NO, NOT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! MUST MAKE ANOTHER SONIC GAME THAT IS BASED ONLY ON SONIC AND NONE OF HIS FRIENDS!" I can understand people not liking the actual character and her emotions and thoughts, but hating on a story or an author or anyone for using her is STUPID. The comic characters are actually the most developed ones in the Sonic franchise, but instead you would prefer, "YOU ARE MINE SONIC"? WHAT?
Stories that only have Sonic in it. I think everyone can tell by now, I love the universe's side characters. Especially Tails, you all know this. It really just kills me inside when I see a story with JUST Sonic in it. Out of a huge pool of characters you could chose to expand upon you pick the most-fleshed out one? AND NO ONE ELSE? PICK TAILS, PICK KNUCKLES, PICK BLAZE, JUST DEVELOP. But however, it is all about imagination. If you can do an amazing story that is heavily developed and awesome using just Sonic, then kudos to you. It is possible.
One of the many reasons why anti-bronies hate bronies. "Because they always shove their ponies in our face." Aren't anti-bronies doing the same thing by shoving their hate down our throats? Also, why are anti-bronies sooooo surprised of the amount of R34 of ponies there are and how it is everywhere? The MLP fandom is one of the biggest and most famous (or infamous, if you consider it that) fandoms known on the Internet. OBVIOUSLY, it's gonna have the most content out of all fandoms. Jeez, I feel like anti-bronies would also be like "GOD, WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS SHOVE THE BEST FOOD INTO OUR FACES?" BECAUSE IT IS FAMOUS, THAT'S WHY!
I think that is about it. I can't really think of anything else to complain about. Oh wait.
Werewolf. That is all.
Hey guys, Gold here. You may have noticed I tried being a bit less intense this time than I did for the other rant and rages. I'm trying to go for that review or complain style like JonTron or Nostalgia Critic does. Funny and fun, but not over the top raging. Also, you may have noticed the name change. I'm thinking of doing full story reviews. I got a couple ideas, like All The Elements for Disaster or some of the other highly reviewed stories. I will ask permission first, don't worry. Also, they would be kinda critical but at the same time, again, like JonTron or Nostalgia Critic.
What story would YOU like to see me review? TELL ME! I will review any story, completed or not completed!
Thanks for reading. Leave a review with your thoughts or ideas or what story you would like to see me review. And, as always...
EONNNN OUT!
