Chapter 18

This is it, the moment of truth. The conversation they've both been dreading and waiting for the last couple weeks. Arizona knows for sure what she wants to do, it hit her the day of the opening when she found out Callie flew April and Alex there just so she'd have more of her people with her. Even though she knew what her girlfriends reaction would be she was still nervous.

So here they are sitting on the couch facing each other with a glass of wine each, neither one knowing where to start.

"Thank you for dinner, I think you're gonna have to cook more often." Callie says half joking.

"Barbara's famous pot roast will get you every time."

There is silence once again. "Ok this is really ridiculous we talk all the time. Why is this so difficult?"

"I think we're both afraid of what the other will say."

"True. Do you wanna go first?"

Arizona playfully rolls her eyes, "oh how sweet of you." She says dripping with sarcasm, rolling her eyes again when Callie gives her a wide grin. Taking a slow sip of wine and placing the glass on the table, she takes a deep breath. "I'm going to move," she rushes out before her nerves make her change her mind.

Callie looks at her as if waiting for her to say something else but the blonde is looking everywhere but at her. When nothing else comes she raises her eyebrow, "wait you're serious."

"Ummm yea," giving Callie the, I'm confused what's wrong with you face.

"Are you sure that's what you want cause I can totally move to New York."

"That's very sweet of you Calliope but there's nothing left for me there. I've done nothing but think about it the moment I met you. This seems right." Taking the brunettes hand and interlacing their fingers.

Arizona is looking at their hands her brain going a mile a minute thinking about all the things she's going to need to do when she gets back to New York in a couple days. She wants to move as soon as possible.

Callie really wants to know what she's thinking; she lifts her chin so she can look into her eyes. "Hey what's going on in that head of yours?"

"Just thinking about all the things I need to do."

"Are you sure about this Arizona? I don't want you to have any regrets."

Arizona looks at her and can see the genuine concern in her eyes, "I have never been surer of anything in my life."

"I just don't want you to have regrets or think that I'm not willing to move for you because I am. I'll move tomorrow if that's what you want."

Arizona squeezes Callie's hands, "we knew this day was coming. We knew that one of us would have to make the move if we want to have a real chance at being together because neither one of us can handle the long distance thing. I want to do this, I need to do this."

"What about Alex and April?"

"I'm going to give them the option of taking the two manager positions available and they can come with me if they want."

"Is this the reason you didn't want Teddy to hire anyone yet?" Arizona just nods, "so you've been thinking about this for a while huh?"

"Yeah." They get quiet again before the blonde breaks the silence, "do you think this is too soon."

"It's soon but I wouldn't say too soon. We don't have quite a U-Haul situation going on."

"But it is soon?"

"Soon compared to what? Or better yet to whom? This is our relationship if you and I both feel we're ready then no it's not too soon. I love you, you love me and we want to be in the same state that's our decision to make. Fuck everyone else."

By the end of her mini rant Arizona's smiling, "so this is happening then."

"This is happening."

"Good. I love you."

"I'm never gonna get sick of hearing that you know."

"I'm never gonna get sick of saying it." Arizona says with a smile.

"That was very cheesy."

"You're not the only one that can do the cheese."

"You like my cheese."

"I like more than your cheese."

By the end of their banter Arizona is straddling Callie's lap and laughing into her neck, this was the most ridiculous conversation they have ever had.

"That was so fucking stupid." Arizona says in between laughing.

"Hey you started it." Callie chuckles.

They sit in silence for a few more minutes, Arizona placing pecking kisses on the taller woman's neck. Callie's eyes close enjoying the feeling of the blonde's lips on her skin.

Callie slowly opens her eyes and hugs her tightly. "I know you have a lot of things you need to get done before you officially get here and I don't want to rush you or for you to think I'm rushing you but when do you think…" she is cut off by her girlfriend's lips.

Arizona pulls back to look into chocolate eyes, "I don't think you're rushing me I want to be here as much as you want me to be here. I need to pack up my apartment for one thing. I'm not really sure what I want to do with it yet."

"Why don't you keep it? It could be your New York place."

"I never thought I was the apartment in different cities type." Arizona says with a bright smile.

"You could be you know."

"Ok so I'll keep the apartment but I still have to pack up my clothes and that right there is its own challenge."

"Clothes packing. Check. What else?"

"Well I have to talk to Alex and April, if they want to come with me then I need to make sure Sasha is ready to take over. Paula is part time now but I'm sure she'd jump at the chance to be full time, she's been working more shifts anyway." She pauses to thinking about anything else she needs to take care of.

"Making sure the store is ok. Check. What else?"

"That's all I can think of while straddling my girlfriend but I'm sure I will think of other stuff when she's not looking at me the way she is at this moment."

Callie feigns innocence, "I don't know what you're talking about." She shrugs.

Arizona pecks her on the lips, "there is something else I want to talk to you about."

"Wow you got all serious on me. I'm almost afraid to ask what it is."

"Stop Calliope it's not bad, at least I don't think it's bad and I hope you don't either."

"Ok what is it?"

"I don't think we should live together." Callie's face falls, that wasn't what she expected. "Just hear me out ok."

"Okay go ahead."

"Our relationship is new and most of it we've spent in different states, I want us to date and get to know each other better before we jump right into living together. I mean hey you might not like my perkiness all the time and I may not like your grumpiness all the time." Arizona says with a smile.

"Hey I resent that I'm not grumpy all the time just in the mornings when I haven't had my coffee." She thinks about it some more, Arizona is looking at her with an amused look on her face. "Ok maybe I'm a little grumpy," she says with a smile.

"I want to give us a real chance. I'm not moving for you or because of you, I'm moving because I want to and you being here is a huge plus. Does that make any sense?"

"Yea I guess. Part of me knows that's a good idea but the other part the part that wants to be around you all the time is screaming NOOOOO." They both start laughing. "So when you move here you won't be living here got it."

Callie really did understand, she wants them to have a real chance as well and truth be told them living together right away is probably not a good idea. She's just glad she wasn't the one to voice it. All she wants is the blonde close by and it doesn't matter right now if they lived together or not but if their relationship progressed the way the Latina wants it to they definitely will be living together soon.

Arizona starts trailing kisses along the brunette's neck, getting moans of pleasure from her. Callie's hand finds its way under the blonde's shirt and she's running her hands up and down her smooth back. The pair is interrupted by the door opening and their best friends walk in hand in hand.

The blonde and red head walk into the living room and are greeted with the sight of the two women making out on the couch. Teddy smirks and clears her throat.

Callie's hands still but don't leave from their position under Arizona's shirt, both breathing heavily. "Ugh you two have the worst timing ever," Arizona mumbles into Callie's neck earning a chuckle from the other three women.

"Whatever squish." Teddy pulls her girl onto her lap as she sits down.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Umm Addie what does it look like I'm doing, I'm trying to get my mack on but you just cock blocked me." Arizona stays silent and keeps kissing up and down Callie's neck, the brunette moans.

"Ok one don't ever say cock block again and two I see what you're doing but you said you were going to have THE talk and we came to be nosy."

"I suppose I couldn't get you to come back in the morning." Callie gasps and moans when Arizona bites then licks her pulse point.

"Not a chance, someone has been bugging me." Addie says looking at her girlfriend, Callie moans again.

Teddy fed up with the moaning, "that's it Arizona dismount now."

The blonde looks up and her girlfriend is trying really hard not to laugh, she then looks at Teddy. "Are you kidding? We were busy until you barged your asses in here if you don't want a show I suggest you leave." Arizona huffs out before reattaching herself to her girl's neck.

"Well you know I don't have a problem watching but I don't think your girlfriend would enjoy it very much."

Teddy just called her bluff they all knew Callie and she would not be ok with it. Arizona says something that sounded like bitch while getting off the Latina and sits beside her, giving her very amused best friend a scowl.

"Well since that has been handled do either one of you have anything to tell us."

Arizona looks at Callie as Callie turns to look at her and gives her a slight nod, yes they're doing the conversation with no words thing. A smile spreads on Callie's face when she hears the words, "I'm moving here."

"No shit." Teddy yells very excitedly.

"Yes shit."

Teddy jumps up and because Addie is on her lap she almost hits the floor, she catches her before throwing herself on Arizona. They all start laughing at Teddy's behavior. Addie is the only one who knows just how much her girl misses her best friend, she hides it behind jokes and her nonchalant attitude. So the red head couldn't be happier not only for her but also for Callie who's watching them with nothing but love in her eyes.

Callie looks at Addie who is watching her and winks, she was happy.

"Get off of me you cow." Arizona yells while squirming under the weight of the best friend.

Teddy ignores her and starts tickling her, "so you're really moving."

Arizona is giggling trying to catch her breath, "Calliope help." She wheezes out between gasps of air.

Teddy gives her a look of don't you dare, "sorry babe stretch here is pretty scary." Arizona grunts and is able to get one of her arms free to start her own tickle fest and that was the taller blonde's cue to get up. Teddy moves to sit beside her and Arizona sits on Callie's lap.

"Jerk," Arizona huffs slapping her on the arm.

"Shut up you miss me too," Teddy sticks her tongue out.

"Come on children don't make us separate you." Addie jokes from her place on the love seat.

Teddy playfully rolls her eyes at her girlfriend and turns her attention back to her bff, "you're really moving?"

"Yes Teds I'm really moving." She says with a big smile.

"That's so fucking awesome. Okay when are you moving? What about the store? Who's gonna run things?" Teddy piles on the questions, until a light bulb goes off and an answer to a question she's been asking for a while is answered. Her eyes grown wide, "this is the reason you didn't want me to hire anyone, you little bitch you had this planned all along."

"Hold on psycho, one question at a time and I didn't plan anything I just have been thinking about it and I wanted to give them the option." Arizona looks at Callie who is looking at her and gives her a kiss on the cheek, "now to answer your other questions…"

Arizona starts telling the two new comers all about her plans for the store and the apartment, she guesstimates it'll take about a month to get everything settled. The excitement is radiating off Teddy in waves, they did share a look when the subject of telling her parents came up. Barbara and The Colonel are not the type of parents to meddle in their other children's lives but when it came to their youngest they were more involved than Arizona would like. Arizona tries to shake the thought of that conversation out of her head.

They do decide to have a barbeque the next day to celebrate. Teddy and Addie leave soon after, happy with the answers they were given. The two women are alone and ready to continue what they started.

The blonde resumes her previous position straddling the Latina and kissing up and down her neck. Callie moans at the feeling of her girls lips on her very sensitive neck, "are you really happy with your decision?"

Arizona pulls back and looks at her, "of course I am baby. Don't I look happy?"

"No you look really happy, I just…" her voice trails.

"You just what?"

"I know you love me I can feel it every time you look at me. I felt it before we said it but moving to be with someone is huge and I don't ever want you to regret your decision."

Arizona cups Callie's face, "don't you see I'm not moving because of you I'm moving for me." She says while looking into her eyes, she lets go of her face and continues. "New York just doesn't feel like home anymore, I mean don't get me wrong I love New York but since Teddy left it hasn't felt right."

"Is this your way of telling me you're in love with Teddy?" Callie asks with a smirk. "If so you might have to fight Addie to the death."

Arizona smacks the Latina on the arm, "no ass."

"All jokes aside babe I get it, you're not moving for me or because of me and that's why you're not going to move in right now." Callie says with a smirk.

"Exactly so there won't be any room for regrets so stop talking about me regretting anything and let me get my mack on."

Callie can't hold in her laughter, "don't ever say that again." Laughing harder.

Arizona lets the dimples pop then bites her lip in the way that Callie can't resist, the Latina reaches up and with her thumb traces her lip pulling it loose. They are looking each other in the eye and can each see the lust swirling around, the brunette leans in and takes the other woman's lips in what starts out to be a soft kiss but quickly becomes a whole lot more.

The Latina stands up lips still attached holding Arizona in her arms. They break apart and they look into each other's eyes, it's crazy to both of them that they can read each other so quickly. Callie gently places her girl on the floor and they're standing face to face.

Arizona grabs her face and brings it towards her, "I love you." She whispers, capturing Callie's lips in a slow and steady kiss.

Callie brings her hands to the blonde's waist and starts grabbing the hem of her shirt, bringing it over her head. She quickly takes of her own in one quick motion. The blonde practically rips her pants off before moving to do the same to Callie's.

"Whoa, someone's eager." Callie says laughing a little. She wraps her arms around Arizona and unhooks her bra with very little effort.

Arizona smiles up at the Latina, "you're really good at that." She says before crashing their lips together. The kiss was rough and all over the place, it was hot and filled with lust. The blonde pulls away breathless and pushes Callie back onto the couch. The Latina's eyes get impossibly darker as she watches Arizona kneel in between her legs. She hooks her fingers through the waistband of Callie's soaked underwear and rips them off on one quick motion.

"Jesus babe," Callie says breathlessly.

Arizona grabs her legs and pulls her to the edge of the couch and places kisses all over Callie's thighs, hip bones and finally the mother land right on her soaking wet center. She sticks her tongue out and dives right in, causing the Latina to moan and her hips to buck off the couch.

The blonde looks up into black eyes and says, "mmm I love the way you taste." Before lowering her head and licking her slit from back to front. Arizona steadies Latina's hips with one hand and two fingers on the other enters her roughly.

"Oh god Arizona," Callie almost screams. Arizona begins fucking her at a relentless pace curling her fingers on the way out to make sure she hits her g spot every single time.

"Well let me take care of that." She pauses for a second enjoying the attention that her neck is being shown.

Callie is usually the take charge one in the bedroom but there are those rare occasions where she gives up control to her girl. Taking back control she says, "I want you naked and in bed in two minutes." Callie says in her authoritative tone.

Arizona pulls away from the taller woman's neck and looks into her eyes and sees a lust, hunger and arousal swirl. The small smirk on Callie's face lets the blonde know she's in charge so she quickly scrambles off her lap and runs upstairs. Callie starts laughing at the lightning speed with which she flew up the stairs, finally able to move she stands up on wobbly legs and chuckles. This woman is going to be the death of me, she thinks as she walks up the stairs to ravage her waiting girlfriend. And she does all night long.

The next evening Callie's waiting for everyone to start showing up, Arizona and Teddy are still at the store and will be there as soon as they close. Addie is being her usual pain in the ass self so Callie banished her to the back yard.

The Latina looks up from the salad she's making when she hears nails tapping on the glass door leading to the back. Addie is standing there giving her puppy dog eyes and a pout on her lips; she just shakes her head and smiles.

"That was so rude," the red head says as she walks through.

"Oh hush you were barely out there for 30 mins besides you know the rules you annoy you go on time out." Callie says her attention back on the salad.

"Come on Callie please."

"No Addie and don't ask me again."

"Fine I'll ask Arizona." Addie huffs then with a smug smile start to walk towards the fridge and starts taking stuff out and placing it on the counter to be taken out.

"Don't you dare, she doesn't like to talk about stuff like that. I'm not telling you about my sex life Addison so quit asking me."

"You're no fucking fun anymore. You're girlfriend has sucked the fun out of you." Addie smiles at her statement.

"You have no idea."

"HA!"

"Shut up pain in the ass." Callie says throwing a slice of cucumber at her.

Dodging the offending vegetable, "eww Callie you know I hate cucumbers why are you putting them in the salad anyway?"

"Because my girl loves them and you can pick them out."

Unbeknownst to the two women Mark walks into the kitchen, "well look at here two of my favorite women in the kitchen."

Callie jumps at the sound of his voice, "what the hell Mark? We talked about this." She yells inspecting her finger to make sure she didn't cut it.

Addie hands him a beer and sits on the bar tool next to him, "you're early."

"I know I wanted to hang out just the three of us, you two are always busy."

"Oh stop Mark we play basketball every Sunday." Callie says a little annoyed with him because of a comment he made to Jackson about Arizona's breasts.

"Yea but we never hang out alone anymore, you're always with your girlfriends."

"Well if you had one then you wouldn't notice." Callie says with full on sass and annoyance.

"Well if you weren't so far up her ass you'd see what she's doing."

And there it is, Callie slams the knife down on the cutting board and looks at Mark like she is about to rip his head off. She starts to move around the island to get to him but Addie steps in front of her and gives her the Callie don't look.

Addie looks at Mark who is looking at her, then turns back to Callie and watches as she walks back to her salad preparation. "Speaking of our girlfriends when are they getting here."

Callie is stating daggers into Marks head, "they should be here soon."

"Cal," Mark says her name trying to get her attention.

"Not now Mark."

"What is your problem?" Mark asks putting the empty bottle on the bar.

"Are you fucking kidding me right now? You have told me, Addie and everyone who would listen that our girlfriends are not good for us or they're after our money. So that's exactly what I want to know what the fuck is your problem?" Callie has moved closer to Mark but has kept the island in between them, she's really trying to control herself but he is making it really hard.

"Can you honestly tell me that you don't believe that they aren't after your money? They came out of nowhere."

Callie ignores him and walks to the refrigerator and gets a beer. Addie and Mark watch her open the beer and gulp half the bottle before she puts it down and turns back to her best friends.

"I'm not going to address your idiotic questions, Teddy and Arizona are our girlfriends they will be in our lives until WE say different and if you can't except than you have no place in our lives."

"Callie come on, I'm just trying to look out for you."

"In case you haven't noticed I am a grown woman and I don't need you to look out for me."

Addie doesn't like all this tension, "can we just have a good night without fighting? We know how you feel Mark and frankly Cal is right them being in our lives is our decision."

"Fine whatever. Can I have another beer?"

The Latina wants nothing more than to kick his ass out but knowing Addie she wants him there she just ignores him and goes about finishing the salad. The red head rolls her eyes and gets him a beer.

"What's with the barbeque anyway? Jackson said you were celebrating."

"Yea we are because not only is the store a success but Arizona's moving here." Addie says while smiling.

"She's moving here?"

"Don't start Mark," Callie cuts him off.

"Why can't you see that she is using you. she's already got a free place to stay, it'll only be a matter of time before she's asking you for money."

"You say another word and I'll beat the shit out of you with my bare hands." Callie growls.

Mark totally ignores her, "it's bad enough Addie brought the first stray home you have to make it a matching set." Up until that moment Addie was quite and let Callie handle him but now she was on her feet and on her way over to Mark.

"Hey I don't know what your problem is but you seriously need to back off, I have no problem kicking you out of my life."

"So you'd choose them over me."

"If you make me Mark you're damn right and I'm sure Callie feels the same way."

"Without a doubt."

"You both are so stupid and blind, they are using you for your money. Did you know that they didn't even have money to open this store they're so proud of she waited for her brother to die and used the money he left her."

They all turn towards the entrance when they hear a gasp and standing there are a stunned Teddy and Arizona. The taller blonde looks like she's about to rib Marks balls off and Arizona looks like she's about to break down.

Callie looks at Arizona and her heart breaks for her, she knows that her brother's death is the only thing that can make her break. She moves around the island and walks to her as Addie walks to Teddy whispers something in her ear and they walk to the back, at least Mark has the good sense to stay out of the way.

"Babe," the Latina tries to get her attention but Arizona just turns around and walks upstairs. "Get out Mark," she growls not taking her eyes off the stairs her girl just walked up.

"Cal."

"No, I want you out of my house and I don't want you to come back until you are ready to accept my relationship and not be a total dick."

"I'm only trying to help."

Callie spins around, " I don't need or want your help, and you had no right to say what you said. You don't know anything, you and I are done I am your boss and that's it but if you fuck up I will not hesitate to fire your ass. Now get the fuck out of my house." She jabs his chest with her finger with every you she says.

"Fine but don't come crying to me when you get your heartbroken again," he says before he walks out slamming the door.

The Latina just stands there, this was supposed to be a happy night and it has turned into a disaster. Teddy and Addie walk back in knowing Mark left, Callie looks at them and notices the redness of the tall blonde's eyes. They don't say anything they just go about taking the food out to the patio.

She slowly walks into the bedroom and sees Arizona lying on the bed with her back towards the door, she hears small sniffles coming from the shorter woman. Callie crawls into bed, wraps her arm around her waist and pulls her towards her until she is spooning her. after a few minutes of lying in each other's arms Arizona's tears have stopped but she hasn't said anything.

"Can you turn around please?" Arizona hesitates but she does turn around, "thank you. I'm sorry. She says kissing her forehead.

"You don't need to apologize for him."

"I know but what he said was out of line and I could kill him for it."

"It's ok, I'm ok it just caught me off guard. Why did he say that though?"

"I don't know honey, he's a jackass and he is not allowed in this house until he accepts you and Teddy in Addie and my life."

"But he's your friend."

"And you're my girlfriend and I love you."

Arizona smiles, "I love you too."

"Are you really ok?"

"Yes, I promise I'm ok."

"Are you still up for the barbeque?"

"Are you kidding I've waiting for this all day, I'm not going to let Mark ruin it."

"Good cause I'd have to kill him just for ruining our celebration."

"Come on sexy, get your ass up, change into a little less clothing and bring your ass downstairs."

Arizona doesn't say anything she just crashes her lips onto Callie's and she moans at the contact. The blonde runs her tongue over the seam of her lips and she opens her mouth without hesitation. Callie's tongue dances with Arizona's and she runs it along the roof of Callie's mouth making her instantly wet. They stay connected for a few minutes before they pull away because they couldn't breathe.

They rest their foreheads against each other and their breathing is erratic, "I'm...I'm going to go start the grill."

"Ok love," Arizona says with a wicked grin on her face, she gets up and walks to the bathroom.

Callie watches her walk away, 'damn.' She thinks as she gets up to get this barbeque started.

About an hour later everyone has arrived and are having a great time. They told everyone their good news, which they were all happy about. Callie spent most of her time watching her girlfriend, that has become her favorite thing to do, watching her laugh and joke with the people that have become her family warms her heart. All the events of earlier have been forgotten.

Sitting on one of the benches watching Arizona talk animatedly to Meredith about something she thinks how lucky she was to have this beautiful woman walk into her life and she was going to do everything in her power to hold on tight. Sensing her girlfriends eyes on her Arizona looks in her direction and is met with chocolate eyes filled with love and a bright smile. She returns the smile and winks before turning her attention back to Meredith.

Callie is startled when Cristina sits across from her, "you have that goofy stupid smile on your face."

"Gee thanks Cristina." She says sarcastically.

"Are you happy?"

"Yea."

"Good," and that was it. She likes Blondie and as long as she makes Callie happy that's all she needs to know.

Pretty soon they've all gravitate towards the table, some are eating with some are laughing and talking. Arizona is sitting on Callie's lap feeding her salad, leaning down the blonde kisses her softly on the lips.

They both smile excited about the next chapter in their relationship.
