chapter 2
"Heh, got you a pet Grimmjow?" asked a voice. Both he and Hara turned to see a very, very tall skinny arrancar staring down at them. He smiled, "Or are you her pet?" Before Grimmjow could even move, Hara leapt on him, in her hand a blade, which lay on his throat. The other hand was holding a similar blade to his chest. Both blades curved over Hara's hands like brass knuckles, only with a sharp blade instead of plain brass. The arrancar found he couldn't move. His eyes went wide and his body froze as he felt the tip of the lower blade gently pierce his skin. Blood dripped down his front, Hara smiled,
"A pet am I?" her eyes had a bloodthirsty wild look, as well as an anger and fire. "Hey Grimmjow, who is this spoon?" she asked, letting him go. Spoon was a good description of the arrancar. He was very skinny, tall, and wore a round hood behind his head that made him look very like a spoon. The arrancar glared at her with hatred, but gained his composure as he towered over her.
"How the hell did you do that?! You're a weak ass human after all!" he said. Hara smiled as she looked up at him unafraid.
"That's none of your business." she snapped. His hand twitched and went to his sword, "Oh?" she asked, her blades held in ready, "Think you're gonna do something?" The arrancar relaxed his hand, "Good boy." she said, without moving from her stance. "Maybe next time you won't be a bad pet." She made like she was leaving, seizing his chance, he leapt at her only to be met by her blades. "Do it again and watch." she snarled, "If you don't back the hell off, I will give you a reason to wear another eye patch." She turned on her heel and began to walk away; Grimmjow and the tall arrancar stared after her. She stopped,
"Yo, Grimmjow, are you coming with me or what? I don't know where I'm going." He and the arrancar exchanged glances before Grimmjow broke into a fierce grin and walked towards her. The arrancar just watched as they disappeared around the corner.
"You know, you're just plain scary." said Grimmjow as he walked beside her. Hara grinned,
"I know." She put one of her blades to her lips and tasted the blood, "Yuck." she growled, wiping her lips. "So, who was he?" she asked, pointing behind them.
"Uh, that was Nnoitra…" Grimmjow said as he stared at her with a funny expression, she stared back at him,
"What?" he shrugged,
"Those blades…are they your zanpakuto?" She grinned,
"Yep." she held them out to him so he could see them, "He's called Lucien."
"Hmm…" was his answer. She slid her blades into her belt. They began to walk again,
"What's yours called?" she asked, her eyes falling on the sheathed sword at his side. He seemed to be deep in thought,
"Oh uh, Pantera."
"That sounds cool." she commented. Suddenly before them was a door, Grimmjow opened it for her and they went inside. It was a small looking kitchen/mess hall, and it was very empty. As if to answer her question, Grimmjow said,
"Obviously this place is rarely used. Only Aizen-sama, Tosen, and Ichimaru need to eat food." Hara looked around the spotless room,
"What about you arrancar? Don't you need food too?" Grimmjow gave a sort of smile,
"Not the kind of food you eat…uh how should I put this…" he frowned, then looked up at her with his blue eyes, "We arrancar eat souls." Hara's eyes went slightly wide,
"Oh." she said. He led her towards the back part of the room, where a refrigerator stood. With a gesture, he let her go ahead and opened it. She did, and found ingredients to make a quick meal. She did, and then sat on the counter, munching on it quickly.
Grimmjow watched her for a while, mildly interested, and then just sort of stood there looking around.
"Surprising…" said a voice as it echoed across the room, "I had no idea you liked human food, Grimmjow." Both he and Hara turned to see Ulquiorra standing in the doorway, everything but his green eyes and tear stripes matched the coloring of the room. Grimmjow stared at him angrily,
"What the hell do you want, Ulquiorra?"
"I am here to bring Aizen-sama his lunch." He walked towards them.
"Heh, Aizen's making you into his butler then?" taunted Grimmjow. Ulquiorra glared at him, his green eyes flashing.
"You are to refer to him as Aizen-sama." he went towards the fridge where he removed a covered
dish.
"Oh, well at least you're not denying it." Ulquiorra seemed to get a black aura around him,
"Cease your banter, Grimmjow. I grow tired of you and your mouth." he turned to leave.
"Whatever you say, lapdog." Ulquiorra did not answer; he just disappeared out the door. Grimmjow laughed to himself,
"Wow you're very friendly." said Hara. He eyed her, "I take it you're not fond of Aizen?"
"Hell no. Matter of fact, I can't stand anyone here." he crossed his arms over his chest. Hara put down her plate,
"Hmm…well how come you're being so nice to me?" His eyes widened in surprise,
"Well," he paused, and Hara forced herself not to laugh or smile so to tick him off, "For one, you're not some high and mighty ex. Soul reaper, and second, you aren't Aizen's lapdog." Now Hara smiled,
"I'm definitely not. I only came here on his request 'cause I was bored." He stared at her,
"Bored? What the hell were you doing before?"
"Hanging out at the soul society. I'm not one of their soul reapers, but they allow me to visit."
"What do you mean, not one of theirs?" he asked. Hara smiled,
"You're full of questions." she laughed, "I'll gladly tell you, but let's go somewhere more comfortable with fewer interruptions…" Grimmjow nodded,
"Fine." he went to the door, "Come on." Hara slid off the counter and followed.
Grimmjow led her to his room. She stopped outside his door,
"Why your room?" she asked. He stared at her,
"Is there a problem with that?" She shrugged,
"Not really…I was just wondering."
"You said somewhere that would have fewer interruptions…" He opened the door and led her inside.
