Chapter 5
Grimmjow's P.O.V
Grimmjow had been lying on his bed, fighting with himself. Part of him wanted to search out where she had gone, while the other part was saying 'hell no!' The latter was losing because he caught an enticing whiff of her scent on his pillow. He grumbled to himself as he concentrated on tracing her spiritual energy…he found nothing…but wait! Suddenly he felt a huge blast of it, coming from…outside his window? He jumped to his feet and peered out, but saw nothing. Then, in the very distance, he saw a huge explosion of sand followed by a silver flash. It was Hara, he was certain, but what was she doing all the way out there?!
Curious, he jumped out his window and flash stepped across the sand, a grin already on his face as he knew he was in for a show.
A few minutes later, he found her.
Hara was fighting against one-no two mid class hollows, and he was awestruck by it. Hara would block one hollow with one hand, while attacking the other with her other hand. Her zanpakuto had changed as well, instead of the two small hand blades; there were two long katanas with three ribbons at each end. As he watched, she destroyed one of the hollows, shattering it within a second.
"Damn." he said, "She's ruthless." he grinned to himself as he watched her turn on the next hollow. He got a glimpse of her face, and he was a bit surprised. Her eyes were empty of any emotion, of any sign of consciousness. "What the hell?" he whispered as he watched her kill the hollow.
Hara stood stock still in the sand, her breathing labored. She wasn't injured at all, and didn't even look a bit sweaty or sandy. Her eyes still held that emptiness and it actually creeped Grimmjow out a little bit. He decided to see if she was okay. He came towards her slowly, from behind.
"Hara?" he called, reaching out to touch her shoulder. In a flash, she had turned around, and nearly taken his head off. Luckily, due to fast reflexes, he had ducked. She didn't give him enough time to even move, she fell on him, both swords covered in hollows blood. "Shit!" he yelled as he blocked her attacks, she was very strong, stronger than he would have guessed. Her eyes were still empty, and Grimmjow knew something wasn't right. "Hara!" he yelled, dodging her attack, "Snap out of it!" She leapt at him, and he caught her swords, she snarled as she tried to pull her swords out of his grip, but Grimmjow was strong.
"Snap out of it dammit!" he yelled at her blank face. He felt something warm running down his arms, it was her blood, and it was coming from one of her hands.
Hara's zanpakuto was beginning to cut into his skin, "Agh! Hara-snap-out-of-it!" he snarled, pulling her closer to him. As soon as she was close enough, he did a risky move. Grimmjow slid his foot under her leg and tripped her. She fell backwards, and he fell with her, not wanting to let go of those swords. He fell on top of her with a thud, his face inches from hers. "Hara!" he yelled.
Hara's P.O.V
Hara had found her prey, and seeking release, let Lucien take care of it, using her anger as energy. While Lucien took control, Hara was in a sort of sleep, free of feeling and pain. Suddenly Lucien retreated, and she found herself thrown back into consciousness.
Hara found herself staring into two very blue eyes the belonged to someone who was lying on top of her. She stared into those eyes,
"Hara!?" said the owner of the eyes, "Snap out of it!" As she realized what was going on, she yelled and tried to push him off of her. It didn't work.
"Grimmjow?!" she asked. He sighed,
"Finally." he let go of her and sat back, "What the hell happened to you? You nearly took my head off." Hara sat up as well, her eyes wide,
"I-I did?!" His stare answered her question. She looked down in her lap, "I'm sorry." Suddenly she noticed her hand was bleeding. She lifted it to her face and stared at it, there were deep gashes where her nails had dug in.
Suddenly Grimmjow grabbed her hand, he looked at it and then at her.
"What the hell is this?" he looked at the shape of the gashes, "Fingernails?" he stared at her, "Why did you do this to your hand?" She shook her head and pulled away,
"It's nothing." she said.
"Nothing?" he asked his voice angry. Grimmjow got to his feet and walked a few steps away, his back turned.
"It's my fault, isn't it? I got you so upset you did that to your hand…" his voice was suddenly soft.
Hara got to her feet,
"No. It wasn't you." He turned around,
"Then who was it?!" he cried, his hands in fists, "Tell me so I can kill them. I know that's why you were so-so…out of it!" Hara stared at him,
"I don't think you want to try that." she muttered. He came towards her,
"And why the hell is that?!" she looked at her hand and then at him,
"Well…you see…I did it to myself…because…" she stopped. He stared at her,
"Because why dammit?!" Hara sighed,
"Because of Aizen!"
"What?!" She turned away from him,
"You wouldn't understand." she said angrily. He stepped even closer,
"Then explain it so I can." he said. She felt a hot tear fall down her cheek,
"It's too difficult." He pulled her around to face him,
"No it isn't. Just tell me-" he stopped, seeing her face. Hara was close to tears. "Hey." he said, tilting her chin upwards, "Why are you crying?" Hara only answered by shaking her head and closing her tear filled eyes. Grimmjow let out a growling sigh, "Dammit, I wish you would just tell me what's wrong." Hara let out a soft sob, and he suddenly pulled her to him.
Hara felt his arms wrap around her body. She let out a gasp. "Stop crying." he said in her ear, "Please tell me that you're not crying because of what I did-" her finger touched his lips, making him stop in an instant. He stared down at her, and she up at him.
"Grimmjow, why do you care so much?" she asked. Hara pulled her finger away, as he stared at her in surprise.
"Well, I…um…" he stuttered, "Dammit! I don't know, I just do-" she suddenly pulled his face to hers and their lips met in a passionate kiss. Grimmjow's eyes went wide before they slowly closed as he crushed her to him. Her arms wrapped around his neck tightly, not wanting to let him go.
He had never felt a kiss so passionate, so gentle and powerful at the same time. He met her kiss with the same strength, and it seemed that they were standing there forever. When they finally pulled apart, she collapsed in his arms, unconscious from exhaustion.
"Damn." he said as he looked down at her, "What have you done to me?" Grimmjow picked her up bridal style and carried her back towards Las Noches. Looking around and making sure no one saw, he jumped into his room, holding her to him tenderly.
Little did Grimmjow know that he was being watched, by a pair of brown eyes that looked down at them with a fury and glee.
