"Jane, don't antagonize the shifters. They are your Queen's friends." Aro warned with a glare at his favorite guard.
"Yes Master Aro. Sorry, Mistress." Jane said apologetically. All the heads in the room snapped hearing howls getting closer to the house. Sam, Jake and the vampires looked out the windows to see what the commotion was all about. The pack had chased 2 vampires into the yard and surrounded them snarling. Bella joined her mate at the window and giggled recognizing the two red-eyes. She ran out of the house shouting happily.
"Peter, Charlotte? What are you doing here?" She asked the Whitlock Coven.
"Jasper sent us to check on you." Peter answered walking towards her only to stop in shock when Aro joined her with a growl towards them. The pack snarled at Aro and one of the wolves moved to attack and protect Bella from the vampires. Bella recognized the wolf and called out to him.
"Paul, don't they mean me no harm." The wolf shook his head snorting.
"Stand down." Sam ordered his pack.
"Come inside once you get dressed." Bella said walking back inside her father's house. Peter, Charlotte, and Aro followed her along with Sam. Soon all 7 wolves walked into the house wearing cut-offs. Bella just shook her head and smiled.
"Can we get introductions?" Billy asked the girl.
"Sure Billy." Bella answered. "Aro, Jane, Alec, Felix, Sam, Jake, Quil, Embry, Jared, Paul and Seth this is Peter and Charlotte Whitlock. They are the Captain and Lieutenant of the South." She said causing the Voltorri to jerk in shock. The shifters and humans all looked confused at the explanation. "Peter, Charlotte, these are my friends and my mate Aro." She informed Jasper's Coven.
"Voltorri in Cullen Territory?" Peter asked looking at Aro.
"Duh." Bella answered bitingly a him, getting the intended laugh.
"When are the Cullens com-" Charlie began when the phone rang. Bella rose from Aro's lap and answered with, "Hello Pixie Vampire." Shocking Charlie and the other humans.
"We will be there in 10 min, our house." Alice answered before hanging up.
"They will reach their house in 10 min, shall we go meet them there?" Bella answered her father's question.
"We shall." Aro answered rising. Billy, Emily, Charlie, and Selene all climbed into the van while the shifters went into the woods to shift and run there. Bella and the Vampires climbed back into the limos and drove to the Cullen house, arriving right after the shifters and Cullens. Just as Charlie pulled the Van up to the front of the house two things happened simultaneously. The sun made an appearance as Carlisle exited the house. Charlie hit the brakes and watched all the vampires step out into sunlight.
"How did I miss that before?" He asked himself out loud.
Carlisle laughed causing Bella to smile and run over to the laughing Cullen leader and hug him. She shrieked when she was lifted into the air by a big pair of stone arms. "Emmett, put me down." She demanded kicking her legs playfully while giggling. Just as she was speaking Selene ran up and kicked him in the leg, telling him to release her 'mommy'. Emmett dropped Bella in shock, luckily Aro was standing close and caught her.
"Mommy?"Rosalie asked din shock as she came outside. "How did that happen?"
"Mike." Bella answered honestly. "Aro can you put me down please?" She asked her mate. Aro responded by hugging her before placing her carefully down on her feet. She smiled at him before turning back to the Cullens. "How much do you know?" She asked them lifting Selene and putting her on her hip.
"Why don't we discuss this inside?" Aro asked pointedly.
"You sparkle!" Selene said pointing at Aro in shock. Bell responded by handing Selene to Aro with a smile.
"You get to explain." She told him before walking inside the house. "Esme, Jasper, how are you two doing?" She asked hugging both with a smile.
"You just handed a child over to a human-drinker and don't seem to care!" Edward snarled at her. Aro growled at the implication as Bella snapped at him.
"My daughter is safe in my mate's arms, Edward." Aro growled louder at the telepath when he moved close to Bella, handing Selene to Jake instead. Gasps rang out when his action drew attention to the wolves. Bella started laughing at them for all the gasps. "You know for beings that don't have to breath, you sure do gasp a lot." She pointed out. "Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, Alice, and Edward, this is Selene, My daughter." She introduced politely, "She is Jake's imprint. "She added lightly.
Jake walked in and plopped the 2 year old down on Bella's lap. "Sit with Mommy." He told the toddler.
"Would any of you like to hold her?" Bella asked the Cullens. Rose nodded shyly and moved towards the mother and child. "Go ahead." Bella encouraged handing Selene to the Blonde. Selene smiled up at Rose and giggled at her playfully. Rose turned towards her mate with a look of longing. Emmett moved to her side and reached out to touch Selene lightly.
"Sorry I kicked you." The child said politely.
"That's okay, I am just glad you didn't hurt yourself." He answered with a soft smile. Selene smiled at him then got a playful look in her eyes.
"What to help me with something?" She asked him, getting a nod from him. "Put me down please, ma'am." She asked Rose nicely. She then took Emmett's hand and dragged him outside calling over her shoulder "Puppy Jake." Jake followed them and shifted into wolf form and sat down before her with his head cocked, waiting for instruction. She giggled and picked up a large stick and threw it calling out "Fetch!" Jake rolled his eyes and chased after the stick, dropping it at her feet. Emmett smiled and lifted a tree trunk and chucked it, causing Jake to bark and rush after it, making all the vampires laugh at him.
"That's something you don't see everyday." Peter commented drawing attention to him and Charlotte.
"True, Captain." Jasper answered his oldest friend.
"Major, how you doing?" Charlotte asked her maker.
"Good, Luetentent." He looked at her mate. "What brings y'all here?" He asked, his southern drawl coming through strong.
"Trouble in the south." Peter said snarling. "Maria came calling 3 days ago." Jasper's snarl rang out in the area. "She has joined forces with the Romanians." This time it was Aro's snarl cutting through the air.
"Jane, call Ciaus." The King ordered. Jan pulled out her cell and called Caius. He answered on the second ring.
"WHAT!"
"Master Aro wishes to speak with you." She told him before passing her phone to Aro.
"The Romanians. are rising." Aro informed his blonde brother. Caius's roar was heard by all in the Castle. Soon the voice on his side of the phone was changed as Marcus took it away from him.
"Aro what is going on?" His monotone voice showing no emotions. "Aro, answer me!" He demanded with a furious snarl.
"The Romanians are rising against us again." Aro repeated to his brother.
"Where, When, How Many?" Marcus snarled, his anger rising to match his brothers.
"Alice?" Bella asked her psychic friend.
"The clearing, new Years Eve." Alice answered looking into the future.
"What is she talking about?" Marcus and Caius asked in unison.
"I know the one." Bella commented from Aro's lap. Sam looked at her in confusion. "Where you fought Laurent." She answered his unasked question. He nodded his understanding.
"We will fight." He commented, the pack nodding.
"And there goes Alice's visions." Bell commented dryly.
"What do you mean, Isabella?" Aro asked his mate.
"Alice can't 'see' the shifters so she lost her vision when they decided to fight." Bella explained rolling her eyes at the reaction to Aro calling her by her full name. Her father's look of disbelief cfausded her to burst into giggles. "Alice can 'see' the future based on decisions of humans or Vampires." She explained to her friends and father. "And while we are on the subject of 'gifts' Edward can read surface thoughts, Jasper can manipulate emtions, Aro can read your life wit one touch, Jan can cause pain mentally, Alec can cut off all your senses, Marcus can see bonds of everyone, and Peter can tell when something will happen, even if he doesn't know what it is."
"That is good to know." Billy said looking at the shifters as they all nod. "Sam we will need to work with the vampires to defeat this foe." He told the young Alpha. Sam nodded looking at Jake and Selene.
"That was one of my first thoughts, with Jake imprinting on the Princess of Vampires it was kind of obvious." Sam mentioned. He then turned to the Voltori group. "Who are the Romanians?" He asked them. To everyone's surprise it was Marcus who answered, his voice showing furious intent.
"They are a coven that grew lax and lazy while ruling the Vampire world. The didn't care if humans knew about our kind even though it was causing manhunts to kill us. They were the ones who killed my mate."He finished with a pain-filled growl.
"I am so sorry Marcus, the pain never really goes away, does it?" Bella said saddly. He sighed.
"No, it never does." He acknowledged, "We will fly to Washington tomorrow, and join you tor train with the shifters." He informed them. Aro looked thoughtful.
"We will need to find a way to manage our feeding habits." He commented to his brothers.
"We can hunt criminals in other states or Canada." Caius stated, Sam nodding his understanding.
"The shifters are okay with that."Aro said to his brothers.
