chapter 11

Grimmjow and Hara waited patiently for the outcomes of the fights. Mostly they focused on D. Roy, who was fighting Ichigo and another person. Very quickly he was defeated, much to Grimmjow's displeasure.

"Damn what a weakling." he muttered then smiled, "Looks like I do get the pleasure of killing that soul reaper after all." he turned to Hara, "Let's go." Hara nodded and followed him towards his victim.

They got a good glimpse of the two who killed D. Roy. It was Ichigo, and Rukia Kuchiki. Hara knew her from soul society, but not very well. Grimmjow smiled, standing above them in the thin air. Hara sat on a rooftop, watching.

"So you two are the ones that did in D. Roy?" The two soul reapers stared up at Grimmjow in shock as he let out his spiritual pressure. Grimmjow gave them a blood thirsty grin, "If that's so, then I'll have to make your deaths extra bloody!" Hara watched eagerly, "I'm arrancar number six, Grimmjow! It was nice knowing you, shinigami!" He slowly let himself down onto the ground, his hands in his pockets and his face an evil grin. Both shinigami stared in fear and awe.

Hara slid off the roof and onto the ground as Grimmjow said,

"Which one?" he asked as he stood in front of Rukia. "Did ya hear me? I'm asking which one of you two is the stronger one?!" Rukia turned to her comrade,

"Ichigo!! Get out of here!" Her comrade turned and began to leave. Grimmjow suddenly thrust his hand out quickly; it went into Rukia's chest. He lifted her upwards,

"Yup, definitely ain't you." Rukia coughed up a bit of blood as Grimmjow lifted her higher, then threw her to the ground.

Hara watched as Ichigo spun around,

"Rukia!!" he screamed, charging towards Grimmjow, his large zanpakuto aimed and ready. Grimmjow slowly turned around and blocked Ichigo's sword with one hand. Hara smiled, Grimmjow was obviously too much for Ichigo, if he had so easily blocked him. Slowly, she walked towards where Rukia lay in a pool of blood. Hara grabbed her arms and dragged her to the sidewalk, so she wasn't in the guy's way.

"Who…are you?" muttered Rukia. Hara flipped Rukia onto her back so she could see her face. Rukia's eyes went wide,

"H-Hara?!" Hara smiled grimly at her,

"The one and only." Rukia stared at her in shock and anger,

"Why are you wearing those clothes?! Have you betrayed us?!" Hara knelt beside her, her eyes cold and her expression sad,

"I have not attacked anybody, so it is not a true betrayal. But," she continued, "Yes, I am with them." Rukia closed her eyes in anger and pain,

"How…How could you!" Hara stood up,

"If you live…Ask them about my brother…Zuro Ayumi. Then ask that same question." She turned and watched as Grimmjow easily blocked Ichigo's attacks. Suddenly she felt a blast of spiritual pressure, one from the arrancar Edorad, and the other very familiar. Curious, Hara called out to Grimmjow,

"Hey, Grimmjow!" Grimmjow looked towards her as he blocked Ichigo. Ichigo also looked, "I'm gonna go check on something, okay?!"

"Go ahead!" he answered back, "I'll be done here in no time!" Hara smiled,

"Hey um…Kurosaki!" The orange haired teen stared at her, "Good luck, you'll need it!" Grimmjow laughed and threw Ichigo backwards. Hara smiled and flash stepped in the direction of the spiritual pressure.

Grimmjow's P.O.V

"Was that your girlfriend?!" asked Ichigo as he attacked. Grimmjow grinned,

"Yep." and continued to block him.

Hara's P.O.V

She flew around the corner, and almost ran straight into a brown haired human and a shinigami. Hara skidded to a stop, and the shinigami turned, his sword pointed at her chest. His dark eyes went wide as he recognized her,

"Hara?!" Hara froze and stared at him,

"Yumichika?!"

"What are you doing here?!" both said at the same time. It was then that Yumichika noticed her clothing. His grip tightened on his sword,

"You're one of them, aren't you?" Hara nodded slowly, and he sighed with sadness. Hara put up her hands,

"But I'm not here to fight. Just a spectator…" she suddenly looked up and spotted the owner of the familiar spiritual pressure. "Is that Ikkaku?!" Yumichika nodded,

"Hai." Hara turned to look at him,

"I see he has a bankai." Yumichika nodded and let down his sword,

"Why have you gone to their side, Ha-chan?" Ha-chan was a nickname Yachiru had given her long ago. Hara shook off the guilt he was making her feel,

"I had my reasons. I'm sorry Michika." she said, calling him a nickname she had given him. He sighed,

"When he finds out, he won't be happy to hear this." Hara tensed,

"He's here?!" she cried. Yumichika nodded,

"Yes. If you concentrate I think you will sense him." Hara sighed, "I'm sorry we had to meet like this." Yumichika nodded,

"As am I with us on different sides of the battlefield." Hara felt a few tears rise, even though she didn't trust soul reapers, she had a few friends. Yumichika was one of them. It hurt for him to see her as an enemy, but she had made her choice. She looked up at Ikkaku; he was enjoying himself as he fought Edorad. She looked at Yumichika,

"Tell Icky I promise not to tell about his bankai. I know he would want that." Yumichika nodded,

"I will." Hara closed her eyes,

"And tell him that I'm sorry."

"I can't do that." Hara opened her eyes,

"Huh? Why not?!" Yumichika stared at her coldly,

"That's something you have to do alone. If anyone else tells him, it will only worsen it." Hara wiped at her eyes angrily,

"I don't want to go and see him…" Yumichika sighed,

"If you don't, you know it will make it even more painful. For both of you."

"Okay. I'll go." she muttered. Yumichika came towards her, giving her a quick hug. "This is goodbye, isn't it?" she asked as he hugged her.

"I'm afraid so. You have made your choice." he let her go, "Next time we meet; I'm going to have to fight you." Hara nodded,

"I know." She looked up at Ikkaku, and then back at Yumichika. Slowly she backed away,

"Goodbye, Michika." He nodded,

"Goodbye, Ha-chan." Hara turned and ran away, biting back the tears. She reluctantly searched out another spiritual pressure, one that was accompanied by the arrancar Ill fort. She locked on it, and ran as fast as she could.
