chapter 13

Hara was stuck. She didn't have the power to get herself back to Hueco Mundo, and she had no way of communicating with them. What was she going to do? Possibly Aizen would send someone to rescue her, but when? And would he? Hara couldn't be sure. Aizen's plans and thoughts were too difficult for her to try and guess. She knew that this was a problem for him as well, as she knew his plans, and information on Los Noches. That made her a threat. He would have to send someone to rescue her if he didn't want the soul society to find out about it.

"Hara!" yelled Renji as he came around the turn. Hara's eyes went wide, she looked at Ichigo and then back towards Renji. She couldn't let herself get caught. If she did, she would be forced to talk, and it lessened the chances of rescue.

So she ran away. She ran as fast as she possibly could, and she was certain all anyone could see of her at the moment was a black and white blur that was quickly out of sight.

Renji's P.O.V

She was here. He couldn't believe it, after all these years she had come back. But she wasn't on the good side of the battlefield…she was on the wrong side, Aizen's side. He couldn't believe that. He had to find her, get her to tell him why. Why was she with Aizen? Why did she disappear?

Renji felt Hara's spiritual pressure getting fainter and fainter, she was running away. Renji didn't have the strength to keep after her, already he felt like he was going to collapse. That damn arrancar Ill fort had cut him up pretty good. He saw Ichigo standing in the middle of the street, he looked more torn up than Renji, and something was wrong. Renji walked up to him, blood dripping onto his foot from one of his many wounds. Ichigo didn't turn around.

"Did the arrancar go back to Hueco Mundo?" asked Renji. Ichigo didn't answer. "And did ya win?" Ichigo didn't move.

"I lost." he said. Renji walked towards him, "Dumbass. You're still alive, so isn't it the same thing?" Ichigo still had his back turned to Renji, his body tense.

"Don't….bother lying to me. If you were in my position, I'd doubt you'd be able to say that." his voice was different, Renji never heard Ichigo talking like this. "I can't protect anyone. I can't even heal those who are injured. I really…lost this one." Renji didn't know what to say. He sighed, things were really messing up.

Grimmjow's P.O.V

Tosen led him straight to see Aizen, and forbid him from talking. Grimmjow hoped Hara was okay. He sighed inwardly; she probably was waiting for him in his room, her warm smile ready to greet him.

They went into the conference room, where Aizen sat in his throne chair, watching with that evil smile. Grimmjow waltzed up to Aizen, his hands in his pockets, his expression fearless.

"Welcome home. Grimmjow." said Aizen. Grimmjow just stared at the wall in front of him. Tosen looked at him,

"What's wrong? Don't you think you should be saying sorry for something, Grimmjow?" he asked.

"Nope." replied Grimmjow. Tosen tensed,

"You bastard…"

"It's fine, Kaname," said Aizen from above them. "After all, I am not in the least bit upset."

"Aizen-sama!" said Kaname Tosen,

"Judging from his previous actions, it seems that one with such a fiery spirit would take responsibility for one's own actions. Or am I mistaken, Grimmjow?" asked Aizen, his eyes on Grimmjow. Grimmjow frowned slightly,

"You are." he said. Suddenly Tosen grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, his face enraged. Grimmjow stared at him coolly, "What do you want, Tosen?" Tosen glared at him,

"Aizen-sama! I am requesting permission to execute this one!!" Aizen stared at Tosen calmly,

"Kaname…" he said. Tosen let go of Grimmjow.

"The way I see it," said Grimmjow with a grin, "You just don't like me, and that's all there is to it. Is it all right for a unification officer to do such a thing?" Tosen remained calm,

"I have no tolerance for those who seek to cause discord. That's all there is to it." Grimmjow eyed him,

"For the sake of the group?" he challenged.

"For the sake of Aizen-sama." he replied. Grimmjow laughed,

"Hah. You never miss a chance to bring up your righteous moral bull shit, do ya?" Tosen rested his hand on the blade of his sword,

"Yes. Moral justice, something that your behavior is highly lacking in." his hand tightened on his sword, "For justice without righteous morals is no different from senseless murder." He began to pull it out, Grimmjow's eyes narrowed, "However, murder in the name of moral justice is…" He suddenly wrenched his sword out and swung it, right through Grimmjow's arm, "…Righteous."

Grimmjow screamed in pain as he watched his left arm fall to the floor. Tosen glanced at it,

"Hakudo 54...Haien." Grimmjow's fallen arm burst into flame and was consumed within seconds. Grimmjow clutched what was left of his arm,

"Dammit! Goddamit!" he screamed, "Shit, shit!" It was painful, and now, there was no way he could get his arm back. He turned on Tosen, "My arm…You…I'll…" His remaining hand went to the hilt of his sword, "I'll kill you!"

"Freeze, Grimmjow." said Aizen quietly. Grimmjow stopped in his tracks, "If you decide to go and assault Kaname there…Then I'm afraid that there's no way I'll be able to let you leave here alive." Grimmjow stared at him incredulously, before turning on his heel and leaving.

A little later

Grimmjow threw open the door to his room, his arm throbbing painfully. He looked around. It was empty. Hara wasn't there.

"Hara?" he called. There was no answer. "Shit." cussed Grimmjow. He leaned against the door, closing his eyes. He searched for a trace of her spiritual pressure…but found nothing. He turned and went down the hall, to search the whole damn building if he had to.

An hour later, he found nothing. She wasn't there. Not one single trace of her. That made Grimmjow worry; if she wasn't here, then…she could be stuck in the material world.

He turned and went back towards the conference room, to face Aizen and tell him. Grimmjow sighed; things were really getting messed up. He just hoped Hara kept herself out of trouble.
