Chapter 3: SW
I am back! I'm so sorry for the late update… I am finally in Spring Break! I also have so many applications, which also has been delaying my updates!
Random: I'm actually watching the bit in Infinite Realms when they are at Salem! Weird…
Disclaimer: I own nothing but my story!
The girl let go and walked away, looking back at Danny one last time before disappearing. "She was definitely creepy." Danny said with a shudder. His other hand rubbed his arm where the girl held onto.
Sam glanced at his arm too. "I don't like this place. And there isn't anyway to get out. Danny, I—I don't want to be here anymore." Her voice quivered slightly. She stepped in closer to him, taking his arm and pulling it closer to her body. Danny nodded, sighing.
"You have no idea how much I would like the feeling of going home. Hard to believe it was stupid Vlad's fault. We so could've gotten away." Danny grumbled, digging his fingers into the soft flesh in his hand.
The two wandered around aimlessly, looking for any place that could prove to be a sort of shelter. Eventually they found a run down shed, enough for two. It was a small wooden building, obviously made hastily, as though building it was thrown together with nothing but a person's hand. Danny glanced at it warily. His insides still burned from the after effects of the blood blossoms.
"This looks like a place to stay for a while." Danny said softly. Sam nodded with him looking sadly at the crude shed.
"How will Tucker find us? He doesn't have anything that can help him travel around the Ghost Zone. The Specter Speeder is out of commission at Frostbite's place. All he has is his PDA." Sam said quietly. She wanted to believe that they would get help, but so far their luck wasn't helping.
Danny nudged her playfully on the shoulder. "You know Tuck. He can do almost anything with that piece of tech." Danny managed to use enough encouragement to get Sam moving towards the shed.
But even he was beginning to doubt his luck.
…
Tucker floated aimlessly around the Ghost Zone. So far he hadn't gotten enough luck. Most ghosts ignored him, floating off to their homes. Skullker came around, shooing Tucker to a hiding spot. He didn't know how to get anywhere. He didn't have a map, a plan, or food! And those blood blossoms weren't settling well in his stomach.
"Come on, baby! Come on, work with me!" Tucker said at his PDA. He began punching in different numbers, calculating a new program that should help him get around the Ghost Zone. His main priority was getting to Frostbite who would be able to stop Vlad and get the map back.
Finally his coordinates were set. "Alright. Now if I can recalibrate the time on this, I may be able to find Frosty's home." Tucker began his search through the time before he heard a grumble of a nearby motorcycle. "Or maybe I could get some help too." He said with a smirk.
Tucker began kicking and pumping his arms and legs as though he was swimming. He heard the sound getting closer and closer, and soon he reached the spot where he could possibly intersect the biker.
And sure enough… "Johnny 13!" Tucker shouted. Johnny applied his brakes and grinned.
"Ah, the nerd. Where's the rest of your stupid gang? Phantom finally dead? That Goth chick finally given up on life?" Johnny mocked. He rested his forearms on the front of his bike. His shadow drifted around his form, waiting to get out.
Tucker frowned, his anger rising. "Look. I know we don't get along, but I need help!" But, Johnny frowned.
"Why in the name of the Ghost Zone, would I help you?" His eyes narrowed as though he knew the answer.
And Tucker did know. "Danny helped get Kitty back to you. You haven't owed him back. Think of this as a favor repaying a favor." Tucker said. His face remained blank.
Johnny blinked. "I'm guessing you need a lift." He scooted forward and little on his seat. He reached back and patted the seat. "Hop on."
…
After a bit more cleaning and dusting, the shed looked good enough to live in. There was one table and two chairs, along with one bed and a small chest in the corner. There wasn't any window, but a small gas lantern hung on the top of the ceiling. Danny easily blasted a little of his energy to get the flame going with whatever gas was left.
"This isn't permanent." Danny reminded Sam. He saw her defeated look as she dusted off the small bed. The lantern casted ghostly shadows around the shed, making the mood even duller. It might've been run down building, but the insides were made it almost as though no one had lived in it.
Sam nodded again. "I know. But… There isn't anything left to do, Danny. We have to wait it out! You can't fly us out, and there isn't a way for us to do anything but wait." Sam stood and walked over to Danny. He looked down at his friend and averted his eyes.
She was right. And there was nothing he could do to help her.
"I don't know what else to do, Sam. I would do anything, but…" He let the sentence linger in the air. Sam choked and looked at him warily. Then she step in closer and wrapped her arms around him. Danny, knowing that he would've done the same, wrapped his arms around her.
As they held each other for a while, Danny pulled away and sat down on the wooden chair. "Well we need to start focusing on what is ahead of us." He patted the chair opposite from him. When Sam sat down, he started thinking up some instances. "For one, we need to make sure that you don't get caught. You are a witch in this town, so we will need to make sure no one will recognize you. But, I think your dress will do for now." Danny said with a smile.
Sam laughed, something that brightened the shed. She decided to add in something herself. "And then there is Mayor George Masters. We have to deal with him; after all he is the one going on about the Witch searches. He's already seen us without our disguises, but he still saw us." Sam declared. She crossed her fingers on her new dress.
Danny nodded. "Well, hopefully we can keep our heads low so we don't attract too much attention. And Sam?" Sam looked up as he stood. Danny moved up to her, and reached for her hair. With a quick, soft tug, he whipped her bright purple rubber band out of her hair. Sam's hair suddenly tumbled around her shoulders, making her suddenly blend.
"Perfect. You are finally a villager." Danny's eyes twinkled as he looked at her soft black hair. Without thinking, he reached forward and let his fingers run through her silky hair. Sam just sat still and watched him with her big eyes.
She smiled at his affection.
"So what else is left to do?" Sam asked after Danny blushed. He moved around the shed looking at each corner of the room.
"For one, I need to keep practicing. Even though we are in another time period, I have to keep my strength. My ghost powers get worse and worse if I don't practice." Danny sighed sitting back down. It would be a while and Danny was afraid for himself and Sam. And who knows about Tucker?
He looked up and saw Sam rubbing her stomach. "Hungry?" He laughed when Sam nodded. At least they still had each other. If Danny were by himself while he was unconscious… He didn't think he would last a second.
"How can we get food? Here?" Sam asked. Danny gave her a smirk and a quick wink. He stood and willed his rings around his torso. He closed his eyes and waited until he felt that his transformation was complete.
"I'll be right back. Don't leave. And don't OPEN THE DOOR. I'll fly in through the walls. Be careful" And with a quick wave, Danny went tangible and left. He looked back at the crude building. How in the world will they live for long in this town?
Yes! This is it! This chapter was pretty fun to write I think? If you guys like it please review! This is one of the stories that I believe that I won't finish or something. I won't update as often… But hoped you guys liked it!
