Chapter 4: SW

I'm so sorry for the late update. I was looking through all my stories and I realized how long it has been since I have updated this story. I have been really busy lately, being a senior in high school… I'm so stressed and lost so much time this summer… So… Naturally I didn't have any computer time.

So I apologize once more. AND… THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO REVIEWED AND FAVORITED! Y'all are my biggest support! (You know who you are.)

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom

Danny felt the effects of the blood blossoms wear off. The pain resided to a dull throb against his chest as he flew invisibly through the town.

He noted the villagers and occasional shouts as Salem's citizens were haunted by the image of being attacked by the mysterious disease. Whatever that was…

Danny recalled how inquisitive he was of this topic in American History. He never knew why. Probably because of the mysterious death of the citizens and no knowable cure? That would show Lancer, he did pay attention in class! Well… Maybe not his class…

"Please! Mayor Masters, our family needs food! My daughter-" A man was saying at the center of the town.

"Is none of my concern, Christopher. I am the head of this town, and I have many duties I must attend to. You are free to talk to the sheriff if you have any… issues." The Mayor spoke defiantly.

Danny's floating decreased as he slowed to a hover above the descendent of Vlad Masters. If that girl, who grabbed him earlier, called him a demon, this was something he had to look into.

The father, Christopher, held his head down and stalked away with a crying woman next to him, most likely his wife. A little baby was in her arms, bundled in a soft blanket. The Mayor seemed less concerned with the welfare of that baby than himself.

Danny didn't like that at all.

"There is something fishy about this." Danny whispered to himself. He decided to deal with it later after getting food and some supplies for Sam and himself.

Danny quickly floated to the nearest grocery looking shop and dived in, stuffing a sack (which he decided to borrow from the store) full of food, clothes, blankets, and something that resembled beer bottles from the 21st century. He willed the sack to turn invisible so that it wouldn't be too suspicious about the strange floating sack in the middle of the store.

After checking the sack, Danny flew off towards the isolated shelter house.

"Sam?" Danny warned as he floated through the roof. "Did anyone come?"

Sam looked up from the table. She seemed to have been busy around the house because it looked a lot cleaner than it was before. "No. It was quiet. Quiet enough for me to think actually."

Danny turned back and placed the sack on the table. "Thinking about what?"

"That doppelganger Vlad Masters." She said back. Sam helped him empty out the sack and started placing stuff away in the only cabinets in the small shelter. "Isn't it strange how that girl said he was a demon?"

Danny nodded. "I was actually thinking about the exact same thing." He placed the blankets on the small bed, and the clothes on the chair. "Maybe there is more to that Mayor than we thought."

"YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN!" Tucker shouted behind Johnny. He held his PDA out in front of him and saw that the dot on the map wasn't moving anymore. "It looks like Plasmius stopped somewhere here."

Johnny slowed the motorcycle down to a moderate cruise. "You know if it weren't for the fact that I hate Plasmius and Phantom's help, I would've shot you by now. Or at least let my shadow have a little fun." He turned back and grinned.

Tucker gulped and could've sworn he heard a content growl from the shadow beneath him. "Well the faster we have Plasmius get Danny Phantom, the faster I can get out of your hair." Tucker responded back.

The dot was stationary, right underneath them.

"It looks like Vlad is here somewhere." Tucker said. He looked down and saw a distinct form of a portal right underneath him. "There. We need to go in there, preferably invisible."

"Who says I'm going in there with you?" Johnny snorted.

"I need your awesome powers and powerful shadow to get back that map." Tucker quickly responded with the most non-sarcastic tone ever.

Johnny smirked and revved his engine. "You had me at awesome."

Danny watched the sky turn to a dark hue of purple and orange. "I never realized how beautiful the sunset was." He commented after biting into his apple. Their dinner consisted of a handful of nuts and two fruits, which happened to be apples and pears.

Sam smiled and popped an almond into her mouth. "And the food is much sweeter than it is in the 21st century. It must've been wonderful back in the day."

"Not in Salem. This was probably the worst town." Danny said wagging his apple her way. "Besides, this isn't where we belong. This is too thrown back for my taste."

"True. But you have to admit, the culture is quite interesting." Sam commented. She finished the last of her nuts and dusted the crumbs from her hands. She stood and stretched, bending back and popping her neck and spine. "I think I'm going to get some sleep. I had a long day…"

Danny nodded. "Yeah, you're telling me. I don't even know how much that blood blossom thing affected me. I'll get the floor." He said throwing the core of the apple outside the door.

"Danny you can have the bed. You had a rough time." Sam said feeling bad about not asking how he was. Instead he shook his head and locked the door with a wooden bar across the frame.

"I'll be fine. Really, go ahead." He said. Danny stretched his back and grabbed the blanket off of the bed. But before he could lie down, Sam took his hand and dragged him to the bed.

She took her shoes off and got in, scooting all the way to the wall. Danny stood at the edge, confused and clueless as always. "Come on. Get in." She said patting the bed next to her. Danny swallowed and carefully lowered himself onto the bed. It creaked and moaned in protest but it quieted instantly.

The moment the two settled in, Sam came in closer and placed a hand on his chest while using her arm as a pillow. "Good night, Danny." She said softly.

Danny smiled and nodded, hoping that his massive blush wasn't showing on his face.

Yes! Short and sweet to the point. I'm so tired and exhausted from last week… I don't even know if I have the time anymore! Just so much work!

You probably don't care about my personal life! So just go ahead and leave a review!

THANKS!
