(11:21 am Bella's room)
Bella stared at Leo unsure of what was going to happen now that someone finally knew about her... well her "glowing" problem. She was disappointed, but mostly relieved, when Leo revealed she wasn't pregnant. She had enough issues to deal with at this point she didn't know if she could handle a baby. Although, the thought of her and Chris raising a child together, possibly getting married, having a normal happy life made her heart swell with joy.
She wasn't even aware Leo was still in the room until he gently nudged her, "Um... Bella."
She shook her the image out of her head and looked up at her former whitelighter, "Leo. You'll help me figure out what's wrong with me right?"
"Of course Bella. It's what I'm here for." He stood up and walked to the end of the room and back before kneeling in front of her, "Okay when did you first realize something was wrong? Really think."
She responded immediately, "After we came back from Volterra."
"Volterra." He whispered aloud. "You're sure?"
"Completely."
"Alright. Okay." He ran a hand through his hair, "What happened?"
"I glowed." Bella took a deep breath and smiled tightly, "Like a glowstick."
"Bella." Leo's hands gripped her shoulders, "Why didn't you mention this to anyone?"
She stood and Leo had to jump out of the way or she would have pushed him to the ground. "Because Leo, I'm the Supreme one. I'm the one whose supposed to be saving people, I'm the one whose supposed to have all the answers, the one whose supposed to save the day. That's my destiny, isn't it?"
"Bella. Just because you are destined for that life, doesn't mean you have can ask for help." Leo walked towards her, his eyes shining and his lips forming a soft smile, Bella felt the corner of her lips turn upward as Leo pulled her into a hug, "We will come running to help you. You don't have be save yourself, sometimes its okay to let someone save you."
She pulled him closer and was slightly agitated when she realized that her own father was nowhere to be found when she needed him the most.
Bella sighed, "Sometimes I wish you were my dad."
He laughed softly and pulled away from her, wiping away the tears that she didn't feel fall from her eyes, "Hey, don't say that. Then you and Chris would be in a very weird situation."
The laughed together but soon Leo fell silent and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"What? What is it?" Bella asked, wiping her nose with her sleeve.
"Michael." He said, his face still frozen in confusion.
"What about him?"
"The night Jacob came to us he made an announcement." Bella nodded, "He was going to take you for a while, remember, it was never mentioned again."
"Right, it wasn't going to happen for a few months, when I finished my year at college. That isn't for three months. We just never talked about it after the day of the party because of the Volturri and the Cullens and issues." Bella chuckled as she finished her sentence but Leo didn't move a muscle.
"Why were you going to leave?" Leo asked, his voice stern.
"I don't really know. He was vague about it and just told me it was for training." Before Bella could even her sentence Leo was pulled away from her.
"I need to go find Michael." He orbed away before she could question him.
Bella found herself out of breath but a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. She wasn't sure if she would mention any of it to the Charmed ones or Chris. They wouldn't have to know anything, ignorance is bliss. Right?
Bella walked to her dresser and inspected the bags under her eyes. Maybe now that the secret was out she would be able to actually get some sleep.
"Sleep? Oh, yes that is exactly what you need." The face in the mirror spoke to her, the face looked exactly like hers but when she touched her lips they didn't move.
"What the hell..."
The face laughed wickedly, "No. Not hell. Not yet."
Bella stirred awake, her body was stiff and her neck ached, she was sleeping on top of her dresser, her head resting in her folded arms. She lifted her head slowly, her eyes afraid to look in the mirror in front of her. When she finally saw her face she shook her head and realized she just had a dream, or nightmare, whichever was appropriate.
There was a light knocking at her door and she stood to open it.
"Chris." She whispered softly.
"Hey, can we talk?"
(11:21 am Halliwell living room)
"Chris, will you stop pacing. Leo's with her, she'll be fine." Piper reassured him, her hand gently caressing her belly. Baby Chris was kicking up a storm and she believed it had something to do with his adult counter part.
However, Chris couldn't just stop pacing because he was nervous and scared and... if something was wrong with Bella he would never be able to tell her that he loves her and needs her and is worried about what is going to happen when he - when Baby Chris was born. And how he misses her more than anything even when she's in the same room as her, even when they're right next to each other.
"Yeah because Leo is just great." Chris said sarcastically.
"Okay. You. Stop." Piper pointed and he sat down, an apologetic look on his face, "I know you're worried. We all are." She looked around the room, "But there's really nothing we can do at this point but wait."
Everyone nodded in agreement and looked up when Edward and Jacob made their way downstairs.
"She's in her room, Leo's not with her yet but she seems fine." Jacob said but he sniffed and shook his head, "Never mind, he's here."
"Can you hear what their talking about?" Phoebe asked Alice. She nodded and tilted her head to the side while Piper sent the two a look of disapproval.
"It doesn't matter if you can hear or not, don't butt in." Piper said calmly, too calmly.
"Huh?" Alice squeaked out, all heads turned to her.
"What?" Paige was the first to ask.
She shook her head lightly, "It's nothing, but I can't hear a word they're saying."
Chris cleared his throat, "Yeah, we put a silencing spell on the room a long time ago."
"Why would you..." Phoebe began to ask as Chris sent her a pointed glared and Piper rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Oh. Oh! Right."
Paige let out a sound of approval, "Smart. You still have that spell?"
Before Chris could respond Rosalie stood up, her tall body dominating the room, commanding attention, "Are we seriously not going to do anything? I mean here we are witches, whitelighters, vampires, and... a dog." She motioned to Jacob dismissively and he scoffed.
"I love you, too." He responded in turn.
She completely disregarded his comment, "And we're just going to sit here."
"I didn't know you felt so strongly about Bella, Rosalie." Carlisle said, his golden eyes shining with suspicion.
"Listen, I know I have had my issues with her before but that's because of her poor decision making, her blatant disregard for her mortality, and her awful taste in men." Edward rolled his eyes, "But the girl has grown and she needs our help."
"There is nothing we can do. Not until we know what's wrong with her and once we figure that out we will do everything in our power to help." Jasper said to her, his eyes intense. Rosalie sat and nodded in submission while Emmett rubbed soothing circles on her back.
Chris suspected the only reason she calmed at all was because of Jasper's mysterious powers of emotional manipulation. He watched as Jasper stood and stretched a very human thing to do considering he was not human at all. Jasper excused himself and walked to kitchen, Alice's eyes trailed after him but she did not move. Instead Chris followed and hoped that he would be able to give him the answers he was looking for.
"Jasper?" Chris called to him, "Mind if you talk?"
"No, not at all." He spoke softly, his southern drawl heavy and calm, "In fact that's why I excused myself, I sensed you had some things you wanted to get out of that head of yours."
"Yeah." Chris rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled nervously, "I just wanted to know if you had any idea what Bella's been feeling lately because she's been acting strange and I don't know what to do an I'm kind of freaking out at this point."
"Alright." Jasper put his hands and used his abilities to sway Chris's feelings of fear to a sense of calm. "Bella has been, well, let's just say it feels like she's fighting."
"Fighting? Fighting what?"
"Her feelings? Herself? She's very alone and she misses you." Chris looked up from the floor in surprise, "Don't act like you don't know. Whenever she looks at you it feels like she's missing something and I feel it right here." Jasper placed a hand over his heart and chuckles darkly, "Or at least figuratively, you know, considering, my tinker don't ticker as of late.
"I know you love her very much and if you love her you shouldn't spend a day without her."
Chris smiled at him, "Thanks for the advise." He began to turn away but quickly turned back to face the vampire, "You really care for Bella don't you?"
Jasper nodded, "Of course."
Chris then began to walk away but Jasper called out to him, "Chris. You should know, I really, genuinely, care for Bella a great deal. So you should best never break her heart for if she ever asked I would rip your heart out of your chest and serve your head to her on a silver platter."
If Chris was really afraid he hid it well, "Good to know, I wouldn't have it any other way."
Jasper watched him leave and decided that it was best he didn't mention the secrecy that was hidden in Bella's emotion, whatever it was she should tell him herself.
Chris took the stairs two at a time, he could feel everyone'e eyes on him as he did but he didn't care, he made his way to room and knocked on here door lightly.
"Chris." She whispered softly, her voice was quiet and calm but her eyes were wild.
"Hey, can we talk?"
I really hoped you all liked it, ideas and constructive criticism are welcomed.
