Chases POV
If I wouldn't have been watching Cathy, she would be dead right now. As hypocritical as that sounded, considering come Saturday I was planning to put her life in danger. Well, sort of. I was going to fake Caleb out, but that plan just went to shit after I was forced to murder Cathy's ex.
I watched him knock Cathy out. I waited, and followed him to see what he had intended to do with her.
I watched him as he put her into his black jeep, and he drove them to the Dells.
"Wakey, wakey Cena." He said, dragging her by her hair out of the back seat.
Cena, so that's who her brother was. No wonder she kept her family such a secret.
Cathy started to open her eyes. She grabbed her head wincing. When she looked at the man's face and realized who had her, she started to scoot back. "No, no, please, Tim."
"Shut up." He grabbed her hair again and lifted her to her feet. "You thought you could hide from me?!" He slapped her. I should have stopped it, but I wanted to hear the rest of their conversation first. I was having an internal battle, and it was killing me. "You came here to be a little slut, didn't you? You think you can cheat on me?" I was shocked.
Cathy spit on his face. "I told you over a year ago, we're done. I'm not your punching bag anymore Tim. I'm not cheating on you, because I'm not yours. My heart belongs to someone else."
Tim wrapped his hand around her throat. "I'll make sure that, that Collins boy never touches you again." So, he'd been stalking her.. How ironic.
Deciding it was the time to make my presence known, I grabbed him by the back of the shirt, spun him around, and punched him, causing him to fall to the ground. "She's -kick- not -kick- yours." I kicked him in the face one last time. Using my powers I lifted him in the air. "I'll make sure you never touch her again."
I used a spell I knew that would set him on fire from the inside. It was painful, and it would drag out, but he should have never touched Cathy.
Once the spell ran it's coarse I dropped his body, and turned to Cathy who looked kind of scared. She didn't look surprised though. "I fucking knew it."
"I'm sorry." I said, I knew I had to wipe this memory now.
"Don't be," she looked at his body. "You don't even know the things he's done to me. He deserved it."
I gave her a sad smile. "I'm going to get you back, and erase your memory." I didn't want to erase her memory. I wanted to explain. I wanted Cathy to accept me for me, and learn to love me.
"Do as you must." Cathy said. "Before you do though..." She kissed me, like she's never kissed me before. "Stop fucking around with me, please." I didn't respond.
I felt the rush of power run through me, and Cathy disappeared. I knew she was now on her bed, memory wiped.
With that done, I turned to the lifeless body on the beach, and used my powers to put him in the front seat of the car. I lifted the car, and then dumped it into the lake.
Cathy was now peacefully asleep. I sat on her bed watching her. Thoughts of how I was going to endanger this girl were running through my mind.
I simply couldn't. Not yet.
Originally I was going to force Caleb to will his powers to me on Saturday, but now, now I wasn't so sure what I wanted.
Cathy started squirming in her sleep. I thought about diving into her head, but I didn't think I could be in her mind right now.
Using, I put myself back into my room. I changed into a pair of pajama pants, and crawled in bed. Thoughts of Cathy filled my mind.
I looked at me clock, 12:30 it read. Laying on my back, looking up at the ceiling, I started to doze off. As I was about to fall asleep my phone started going off.
"What the hell?" I picked it up and it was Cathy.
Cathy's POV
I woke up in my bed, and didn't even remember how I got there. I looked over at my clock and it read 12:30. Knowing I wouldn't fall back asleep any time soon, I stared at me ceiling, getting lost in my thoughts.
My thoughts were on Chase and Caleb. I felt like I had to choose one or neither. My feelings for Chase were strong, but he was so hot and cold. It was hard to want someone who didn't seem to want you.
Then there was Caleb, who clearly wanted me. If I were to give it a try, I could see myself with him. Would the feelings be the same as they were for Chase? Probably not, but I should still consider trying.
Chase though, I couldn't seem to get him off my mind. I wondered if he was awake. Picking up my phone, I went to my contacts. I hovered my finger over the send button. If I did this, then Chase was right, and he might still play his games with me, but right now I felt like I needed him. "Fuck it." I said pressing send.
It rang about four times before a raspy voice answered. "Hello?"
"Chase..." I whispered, not wanting to wake Kate.
"Cathy, what's wrong?" He sounded worried.
I didn't know what to say. So much was wrong. "I just... I couldn't sleep, and you're what popped into my head."
Silence was all I could hear, and then some shuffling. "Open your door."
"What?"
"Just do it." He said before hanging up. I looked down at myself, and all I had on was still a tank top and shorts. Sighing, I got up anyways and opened the door. There Chase stood in nothing but plaid pajama pants, and I thought I was going to melt.
Chase put his finger to his lips, as if telling me to be quiet. He took my hand, and lead me down to his room, shoving me inside. Shutting the door, he turned to face me.
I broke the silence. "Look, I know it's late and I'm sorry, but-"
I couldn't finish before his lips came crashing onto mine. He quickly wrapped a hand on each of my thighs, and lifted me so that my legs were wrapped around his waste. "Chase." I moaned as I pulled back for air, his lips attacked my neck. "Fuck." His grip tightened on my thighs, and he carried me to his bed, throwing me down.
"I'm sorry." He said as he pulled off my top.
"For what?" I breathed out as his lips attached to my right nipple. "Fuck."
"That I can't give you everything you need." He said as he kissed down my body, taking off my shorts.
Before his tongue could hit my sweet spot, I stopped him. I pulled him up so that he was looking me in the eyes. "I don't need everything, I just need you to stop leaving me."
Chase rested his head onto mine. He closed his eyes, like he was having an internal battle with himself.
Was it that hard for him? Did he truly not want me? Was I right to assume I was just a piece of ass?
When Chase opened his eyes, I got the answers I needed in them. Pushing him off me, I got up and got dressed.
"Cathy-"
"No!" I was pissed. "You don't get to say my name anymore. I made a mistake coming here. I won't make it again. Please, Chase, let me be for the rest of the year. I honestly can't do this anymore."
I went to open the door, but he slammed it shut before I could get out. "I'm not letting you leave." He put his hands on both sides of my face. "I'm not leaving, not again."
Looking into his eyes, I knew he was lying. Part of me wanted to believe in him, but I knew better. For the moment though, I was going to pretend like everything was okay.
In the back of my mind though, I knew that this was temporary. I knew nothing was going to be okay.
