"Who was that man? The one on the bridge?" the Winter Soldier asked. It was clear that he was still out of it. Pierce tried to lie. "You met him on a previous assignment."

"No… I knew him. That can't be. He spoke to me. Years ago- when, '45? You're gonna burn him alive!"

"Wipe him. He remembers too much."

"No! Tell me, who was he?"

Pierce told him. "Steve Rogers. Captain America." If they were going to wipe him, he wouldn't remember anything.

"I know him!"

"Wipe him, now."

The orderlies complied.
