Nami storms into Akiko's house, and stomps up the steps. Both Tora and Akiko are in the dining room eating their Dinner. Tora looks at his sister with a mouth full of noodles. Akiko rolled her eyes, and keeps eating.
"Whats up with her?" He asked, slurping on his instant noodles. Akiko shrugs, eating her Instant noodles with allot more manners, "Is it the tim-OW!" Before he can finish, Akiko kicks him in the shin.
"Don't be rude!" she growled at him.
"You didn't have to kick me!" he yelped rubbing his shin under the table.
Nami screams into her pillow in frustration, how in the hell was she going to get a sponser? She made herself look like a moron in front of that guy. "That stupid ass smile of his" she said into the pillow.
"Oh? Was he cute?" Akiko asked standing in the door way.
"SHUT UP!" Nami screamed at her, "Nothing's cute about this jerk." saying once again into the pillow.
Akiko lets out a small giggle, "You're acting like a small child Nami" she tells her friend, taking a seat at the end of Nami's bed. "So… What's wrong?"
Nami mutters into her pillow.
"Cannot understand you"
"I met a guy, and I told him I will be in the Budokai" Nami explains as she left her head from the pillow.
"Budokai?"
"Tenka'ichi Budokai, Martial Arts Tournament"
"Oh!, You can't enter?"
"I need a sponsor, so I look like a fool" She grumbles smashing her head into her pillow.
"What kind of sponsor?"
"A school, or someone with enough money to pay for the Entry" Nami sighs, " The Turtle School has their fighters, and I….am poor" she explained, rolling onto her back.
"Maybe my dad could sponsor you?" Akiko replied with her offer, placing a hand on Nami's leg, "I'm sure he would enjoy the idea of having his name, or the company's name behind a talented Fighter such as you" she offers a smile while explaining.
Nami smiles back, her smile turns into more of a grin with a chuckle. "Maybe I can punch that jerk in the face after all!" she exclaimed mocking a punch towards the ceiling.
"So.. dibs if he's cute?" Akiko let out quickly lightly hitting her friend. Nami replies with a playful kick pushing Akiko off the bed which causes Nami to burst out laughing.
The morning sunlight shines through the windows of the suite with Akiko and her family eating breakfast together. To her it felt like what was the first time in forever. Nami joins them a little bit after they started eating, she's still wearing her just got out of bed look, with a messy hairdo to match.
"Morning Nami" Akiko's mother greeted with a gentle motherly smile, viewing the redhead as one of her children. Nami replies with something only a zombie could understand. Like a Zombie, she moved to sit with the family. "Couldn't sleep?" The mother poked with some concerned.
"She's too worked up over some boy" Akikko butted in, spreading butter on her toast, as well spreading some embarrassment to her friend.
Akiko's mother lets a small grin, she after all she is like her daughter, both in looks, and mischievous nature. "A boy?" She pokes again, "Found yourself a boyfriend?" and again. However Nami remains in a zombie state, ignoring each poking question, similar how zombies don't feel pain.
"Leave her alone" The father let out with some annoyance, He's a tall quiet man. He's appearance screams the word business, and intelligence; It's rare to see him outside of his suit and tie work clothes.
Akiko places down her silverware, and pushes her plate away to show that she's done eating. "Oh Dad?" she calls. "Nami was wondering about being Sponsored by the Capsule Corp. Robotics for the Tenkai'ichi" Nami instantly perks up from her undead state, "This boyfriend of hers is going to be in it, it would be sooo romantic if they were in it together!" Nami balls her fist, Akiko is going for the throat this time.
The father eats quietly to himself almost like if he's ignoring the question, for what seemed like an eternity of silence, "Let me talk to my advisors about it" he replied before taking another bite. "Might be good way to get a contract with them on training equipment."
Nami's heart skip a beat. She's a lot closer to the tournament, she cannot wait to tell Daikai about it. She has a hard time holding back her smile. "But" he added, causing her to feel some dread. "You two have been missing school" He looks at Nami, "Karin and Daikai both wanted me to make sure you are still going." Nami stares down at her lap. He sets his eyes on his daughter, "Your Mother and I got here because of the amount of work we placed in studies, I don't want you to slack off too much." he added on.
"I know." Akiko replied, rolling her eyes in her own mind, she's heard this several times before.
"The Briefs have an opening for an Internship in research, want me to look into it for you?"
"No."
Nami looks at the interactions that Akiko and her Father are having. Something she been missing out. She imagines herself with her own father about her future, and how proud they are for being a great fighter. "Nami" a man's voice called out, causing her to snap out of her daydream.
"Yes Mr. Yama?"
"You're into Martial Arts?" Akiko's father asked.
"Errm, Yes, I am. I enjoy the exercise it gives. Been doing this all my life." she explained, thinking back on her times at the Turtle school, "Daikai was a great mentor. He's one of the strongest people I know."
Mr. Yama nods, "I always wanted to see a tournament in person, and it would be an honor to see you in the ring" he gave a soft smile, "Would you be opposed in training with some of our advance Fighting Robots?" He asked while pushing his plate away. "It would help me convince the Advisors"
"How so?"
"Well, If you do win, We could say you trained with the robots. Which would could increase the appeal for them"
Nami thinks for a bit to herself, she's not a fan of fighting robots, but it's a possible ticket to the tournament. "Sure… I guess. Nothing to lose right?"
