I almost stopped writing this all together. After taking over a year hiatus from this story, I've finally cracked the files opened again and reread everything and went over the notes that I made for this. And I'm happy to say that I definitely will get back into the swing of things for this story really soon. As we speak, I'm currently working on the next chapter as well as mapping out the way the rest of the story is going to go. I hope to have the next installment out to you guys in the next few weeks. It just depends on my work schedule and when I can actually find time to write between getting ready for my next semester of school and my job. But enough of my rambling. Enjoy.
Mr. Wrong

Chapter Three
"Have you ever wondered why Momma never told us about our father or why we don't know him," Naru asked as she leaned back on her brother's bed and watched him engage in his video game.
"Yeah but we both know Mom," Haru said not bothering to look back at his sister, "If she hasn't told us about him, it's because she's trying to protect us. Something bad must have happened for Mom not to stay with whoever our father is."
"Yeah but still, it would be nice to know at least a little bit about him," Naru said looking down at her nails. "Like his name for starters. Even if it's only that."
"I guess we could ask her," Haru said with a shrug. "I doubt she'll tell us anything but we can always try to get something out of her. Besides, we're fifteen years old now; we're old enough to know the truth, I guess. It's not like the man is around anyways."
"Then should we ask her when she gets home," Naru asked as she sat up and looked out the window at the February snow covered ground.
"I guess we can," Haru said as he paused his game and looked back at his sister finally. "So, who's going to sit her down and ask first?"
"You're the older one," Naru said still gazing out the window as light snow fell, "You ask her. Besides, she's more likely to give in if you ask. I'm her little girl. She'd want to protect me from it more than you because you're a boy and would be able to handle it better."
"But this is your idea," Haru retorted. "The person who comes up with the plan, asks."
"Oh please," Naru said turning to look at her twin brother, "You want to know just as much as I do."
"But I'm not the one who came up with the idea." Haru pointed out as he turned back to his game. "So you'll ask Mom to tell us about him when she gets home while she's starting dinner. That's the best time to ask her."
Naru sucked her teeth, rolling her eyes at her brother, "Fine, I'll ask her."
"Knew you'd see it my way," Haru said earning a pillow to the back of the head.
…
A few hours later, their mother walked through the door carrying plastic bags of food in her hands as she kicked off her shoes and expertly removed her coat before shutting the door with the heel of her foot, "Naru, Haru, I'm home."
She heard the twins running down the stairs seconds later before they both appeared in front of her, taking the bags from her hands.
"Thank you," Rin said as she walked into the kitchen, watching as they picked through the bags trying to find their food, already knowing that their mother had ordered from their favourite Chinese restaurant because of their noses. "Haru you have Naru's bag, Naru you have mine."
"Ah," the twins chimed in unison before switching off and taking their seats at the table.
Rin smiled as she walked over to the table and sat down as well, taking her own food and the plastic fork in her hand, "How were your days?"
"Mine was great," Naru said after swallowing a bite of food. "I found out that I won the Science Fair, taking first place in the entire county."
"Congratulations then, honey," Rin said giving her daughter a smile. "I'm so proud of you. You worked so hard on your project for so long. What about you, Haru?"
"I found out I made the track team," Haru said giving his mother a smile. "Will you try to come to some of my meets Mom?"
"Of course I'll try to come," Rin said. "Just give me the date and I'll see if I can get it off ahead of time."
"Great," Haru said before digging into his food again.
The room got really quiet for a while before Haru jabbed his sister with his elbow before nodding toward his mother who wasn't paying any attention. Naru looked at her brother; her golden eyes filled with fear for a moment before clearing her throat to gain her mother's attention. "Momma."
Rin looked up, eyebrows furrowed, "What is it Naru? Is there something wrong?"
"Um," Naru said biting down on her bottom lip, "There's something that both myself and Haru were wondering about."
"You more than me," Haru murmured as he picked at his shrimp fried rice.
"What is it," Rin asked tilting her head to the side.
"How come you never told us about our Father," Naru asked, her keen eyes seeing the way that her mother flinched at the question. "I think we're both old enough now to know who he was or is and why he's not in our lives. It's only fair, Momma."
"I'll tell you when you're a little older," Rin said choking back the tears that the twins could smell trying to break forward.
"Momma we're plenty old enough now to know," Haru said reaching over to touch his mother's hand. "We deserve to know about our father, no matter what happened. We can handle it, promise."
"Haru, Naru, you need to understand that the only reason I never told you about your father is to protect the both of you," Rin said turning her hand so that she could squeeze her son's hand. "He's a prejudice demon that can't stand half-demons like yourselves and humans. I was an exception to that to an extent."
"Momma," Naru said, her own tears coming to her eyes as she looked at her mother. "We're not asking because we want to meet the man, we just want to know who he is; just to quench our curiosity."
Rin sighed, looking over at her twins before she smiled, "I guess you two are ready to know who your father is then. Alright, I'll tell you who he is."
The twins smiled.
"Thank you Momma, for trusting us," Naru said before removing her hand, letting her mother begin.
"His name is Sesshomaru Takahashi," Rin said, "The man that owns Takahashi Enterprises."
The twins listened as their mother told them the story.
…
"Naru," she heard her best friend call out to her, making the silver haired girl look up, "Geez are you okay? You zoned out for like ten minutes. Something going on?"
"Huh, oh, no, I'm fine," Naru said picking up a fry from her tray, "Just thinking."
"About," Hotaru asked as she leaned her elbow on the stone table they sat at.
"Everything and nothing," Naru said waving it off. "Hey, do you still want to go downtown? My Mom told me that my Aunt and Uncle are in town when I sent her a text about senior photos and I really want to see them."
"Are you sure you want to go?" Hotaru asked irking a brow, "From what I know, my brother and your brother are going too."
Naru laughed rolling her eyes, "I'm not worried about what Haru does. Besides, I think he and Hayate said something about going to see a movie. I'm going to see my aunt and uncle. Mom might be there too since she's with my aunt right now."
"Well isn't your Mom supposed to come pick you up after school?" Hotaru asked.
"Yeah, and Aunt Sango will be with her so we can just catch a ride with them," Naru said. "We can leave Haru and his friends to take the bus."
"Then I'm in," Hotaru said happily.
…
"Ready to go, Haru," Hayate asked as he and his best friends walked out the building towards the bus stop. "Your mom did say that you could go, right?"
"Yeah," Haru said when they arrived at the bus stop, "She said that she's going to be down there so when the movie's over just come to the hotel my Aunt and Uncle are staying in."
"What about your sister," another one of their friends – a red head named Sōjun – said.
"She's going with my Mom," Haru said reaching for his wallet. "No twin sister for me for a while."
Hayate laughed, stepping on the bus when it pulled up and the doors opened. Each paid their fare before heading to the back of the bus to take their seats.
…
Naru looked through the glass of one of the downtown stores, smiling with bliss, "Uncle Miroku, Hotaru, look at that one! Isn't it pretty?"
"Yes Naru, it is," her uncle said placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I want it," Hotaru said smiling as she pressed the palms of her hands against the glass.
Miroku had offered to take Naru and Hotaru walking through downtown while his wife and her mother conversed to get them out of being dragged into a conversation they both most likely didn't want to be part of.
"Can we go in and look around a bit…" Naru started as she turned but trailed off when she saw a familiar head of silver hair making its way towards them over her uncle's shoulder. Her eyes widened, her mouth dropping, "Oh my God."
"Naru, you okay?" Hotaru said irking a brow at her trembling friend.
"Naru honey, what's wrong?" Miroku asked placing a hand on the girl's shoulder.
She raised a shaking hand and pointed at the man that was still coming towards them, making Hotaru and Miroku look back.
"Shit," Miroku cursed under his breath.
"Oh my gosh," Hotaru squealed clapping her hands together. "That's Sesshomaru Takahashi! I can't believe it's him in the flesh."
"It would seem your friend likes your father," Miroku whispered to Naru who nodded.
"She has this odd fascination with him," she answered.
"Does she know who he is to you?" Miroku asked.
"No, I haven't told her," Naru said shaking her head, looking up when Sesshomaru stood before them.
"Miroku, I didn't think you would be in town so early," Sesshomaru said looking at the raven haired man before turning to the girl. "I guess she is not yours? She's a hanyou."
"Um, no," Naru said giving an awkward smile, "Just a fan."
"Naru, he's your…" Hotaru started before Naru slapped a hand over her mouth, pulling her towards the shop.
"Don't mind her," Naru said when she saw Sesshomaru raise an eyebrow, "She's not quite there all the way. C'mon Hotaru, let's go inside and look around."
She sprinted into the store, dragging her poor best friend behind her leaving the two adults alone on the sidewalk.
"That girl called her Naru," Sesshomaru said glaring at Miroku. "That wouldn't happen to be Rin's daughter Naru, would it Miroku?"
Miroku gasped, "How did you find out about the twins?"
"I have fairly exceptional hearing, Miroku," Sesshomaru retorted as he folded his arms over his chest. "I heard Sango mention them when she met up with Rin this morning."
"You saw Rin," Miroku asked.
"She ran into me," Sesshomaru said, "Literally. And I could smell my scent on her yet I hadn't seen the woman in over eighteen years, which left me with only one conclusion; she kept the child that I told her to abort. But it would seem that it was two of them instead of one though, hnn?"
"You told her to get an abortion," Miroku whispered as he stared wide-eyed at the silver haired demon.
"I will not have my bloodline tainted by bastard hanyou children," Sesshomaru snarled. "Inuyasha was bad enough; these two only make things worse."
Miroku took a step back, "What are you planning to do to the twins?"
"I have not fully decided yet," Sesshomaru said glancing at the window, easily spotting his daughter with her friend. "But I would like to speak to the child. Bring her."
"No," Miroku said.
"You dare defy me?" Sesshomaru said irking a brow, "Are you sure you want to do that, Miroku?"
"I'm not going to let you hurt her," Miroku said. "That child has done nothing wrong. You cannot take it out on her. She didn't ask to be born."
"I won't hurt her Miroku," Sesshomaru said, "Not yet at least. I would like to speak with the child however. Now, I'll ask one last time, bring her to me."
Miroku glared up at the tall demon, his deep blue eyes scanning over him before he sighed, "Fine. But if you touch one hair on her head, I'll purify you into the next century, do you understand?"
"Your threat is laughable, Miroku," Sesshomaru said. "The child would have more of a chance against me than you would. Now bring her."
"Alright," Miroku said as he turned to enter the store.
Sesshomaru watched him as he asked Naru to come, and she begged for Hotaru to stay and look around for a bit. He unfolded his arms and flicked invisible dirt from his claws as he watched the silver haired girl and Miroku walk out of the store.
"Sesshomaru, this is Naru Takahashi," Miroku said placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Naru, this is Sesshomaru Takahashi, your father."
"Hmmm, so your mother gave you my last name," Sesshomaru said glancing over the girl.
Naru nodded her head.
"You will speak child when I'm talking to you," Sesshomaru said, a bit irritated. She was definitely her mother's child.
Naru rolled her eyes, "Yes Mr. Takahashi, my mother did give myself and my twin brother your last name. Is that better?"
"Hnn," Sesshomaru hummed, "Has your mother told you who I am to you?"
"Yes she did," Naru said; her voice laced with false sweetness. "She also mentioned how you wanted her to get an abortion so that my brother and I wouldn't taint your precious bloodline with our dirty blood."
Sesshomaru almost smiled, he was actually kind of proud that this kid was holding her ground against him, She takes after myself a lot I see.
"What do you want with me, Mr. Takahashi," Naru asked stuffing her hands in the back pockets of her jeans. "Do you want to get rid of me and my brother? Is that it?" She tilted her head to the side a bit to look at him, gold clashing with gold.
"Getting rid of you would bring me great joy," Sesshomaru said, his eyes narrowing at the girl. "But there are laws against killing another being, so I will let you live. You have proved to me that you are not the pushover your mother was. I believe that backbone of yours came from me."
Naru made a growling sound, her eyes tinting pink slightly as she reached for the pendant of the necklace she wore around her slender neck, "You will not speak of my mother like that."
"Oh," Sesshomaru said irking a brow at the girl, "And what will you do if I continue?"
"I'll rip your bleeding heart out," Naru snarled. "You stay away from her, Mr. Takahashi, or else."
And with that, she turned and walked away, ponytail swaying in the air as she moved to head back into the store. Miroku glanced at him before following the girl inside, leaving a smirking Sesshomaru standing on the sidewalk.
If that one is like that, I look forward to running into the boy, Sesshomaru thought as he turned to walk away. She takes after her mother, but I see a bit of myself in that girl. Hmmm, maybe letting them live wouldn't be so bad.
I had to do a little bit of editing to this chapter because I noticed that chapter 3 said the twins found out who their father was when they were 15 but this chapter said that they were already seventeen when Rin told them .-.
