Mr. Wrong

Chapter Four
"I ran into him," Naru murmured to her brother through the microphone of her iPhone, holding her hand over her mouth so that her mother, aunt, and uncle couldn't read her lips. "Uncle Miroku, Hotaru, and I were out window shopping when he showed up. His reputation for being a cold hearted bastard definitely perceives him. He is actually mentioned that if it were not against the law, he would gladly kill the both of us if given the chance. So promise me you'll be careful on your way here. It's possible that you could run into him next."
"Great, just freakin' peachy," Haru drawled on the other line; the sound of wind blowing through the speaker assaulting Naru's ears. "So he knows about us, huh?"
"Unfortunately," Naru answered as she turned her body so that her back was facing the adults, mindful of keeping her voice down. She didn't need her mother hearing that she had run into her father. There was no telling what she would possibly do if she found out. "From what I know, he overheard Aunt Sango mention our names this morning after he ran into Mom."
"Wait, he saw Mom," Haru asked as he continued to walk down the street towards the hotel their Aunt and Uncle were staying at. "When the hell did this happen?!"
"Keep your damn voice down," Naru hissed. "But yes, he ran into her, literally, this morning while she was on her way to meet Aunt Sango. She was leaving the bank and he was coming in when she smacked straight into him. Then she left and he was still in earshot when she met up with Aunt Sango and she asked about us. That's when everything went to hell."
"Fuck," Haru sighed, "Alright, I'll be careful. I'm on my way to the hotel now. What room are Aunt Sango and Miroku in?"
"The Penthouse Suit," Naru said brushing a lock of silver hair behind her ear. "Just ask the receptionist how to get up here. They know you're coming."
"Alright, I'll see you guys in like twenty minutes," Haru said before the line went dead.
Naru pulled the phone away from her ear, wiping the screen on her jeans before standing and stuffing it in her back pocket.
"Naru honey, do you want to do me a favour," Rin called when she noticed her daughter had finally hung up the phone with whoever she was talking to earlier. "It's nothing big, I promise."
"Sure Mom, what is it," Naru said as she made her way over to her mother, aunt, and uncle.
Rin reached into her purse and grabbed her keys and debit card before handing them over to her daughter, "I need you to run and grab something to eat and your brother if you come across him. It's starting to get late and that movie should be over by now so text him and let him know that you're out."
Naru nodded, taking the keys and debit card from her mother before she turned to leave, reaching for her phone once again, "Sure Mom. I'll be back in a few."
"Thank you sweetie," Rin said before turning back to her conversation with the other two adults.
…
Haru walked along the sidewalk, unaware of his surroundings when he bumped into someone.
"Sorry," the silver haired young man murmured, a single golden eye rolling to the side to look at who it was that he had bumped into. He was surprised when he saw the last person he expected to see; Sesshomaru Takahashi, his father, "Didn't see you there."
Sesshomaru glanced over at the male that had bumped into him. His first clue as to who the child was, was his scent. It was a mixture of his own and Rin's; just like the girl, Naru. So this is the twin brother. "You should watch where you're going, boy."
"I already apologized," Haru said as he turned to walk away again, "There's no need to continue this conversation, Mr. Takahashi."
And with that, he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jeans and began walking away again. Sesshomaru stood and watched him walk away for a few moments before he turned to follow. Like the girl, this one seemed to have his backbone; a good quality in a boy. It showed that he wasn't a pushover despite who his mother was, just like his sister.
"Why are you following me, Mr. Takahashi," Haru asked, not bothering to glance back at the silver haired demon that was only a few steps behind him. "Is there something you need?"
"You are the child called Haru, are you not," Sesshomaru asked, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his slacks as he walked alongside his son.
"How do you know about me," Haru asked irking a brow.
"I've already met your sister and seen your mother," Sesshomaru answered. "The scent on your mother was a mixture of my own and hers. And your Aunt Sango mentioned your names not realizing that I was still within earshot."
"So you've seen my Mother and met my sister," Haru said as he reached for his buzzing phone. He glanced at the screen and saw that it was his sister texting him that she'd wait for him at the Wendy's not far from where he was. "That's great. Want a hero cookie?"
He sighed, rolling his eyes as he sped up to get away from the man. He had to meet his sister so he could get the hell out of there. The last thing he really wanted to deal with at the moment was his father. The man hadn't been around for seventeen years, of course that was because he didn't know about them. But he wanted their mother to abort himself and his sister before they were even born. And that type of behaviour didn't earn the privilege of speaking to him in Haru's mind. He had already threatened his sister and hurt their mother. There would be no third chance, so the best thing to do was get away from him.
"You are a very rude child," Sesshomaru said; his fingers flexing in his pants pockets, "Even worse than your sister."
"I wonder where we get it from," Haru murmured accented with a roll of his eyes, knowing full well that Sesshomaru had heard what he said. "Seriously, if there's nothing you need, this conversation is over. I've got other, more important things to take care of."
Stuffing his hands in the pockets of his jeans, he hurried to where he saw his sister waiting in their mother's SUV. He needed to hurry up and lose his father. The last thing he needed was for him to see his sister again. From what she had told him earlier, their run in wasn't a great one.
Reaching the vehicle, he quickly jumped into the passenger's seat and told his sister to drive. She did, putting her foot on the gas, leaving a very annoyed Sesshomaru watching as the SUV disappeared down the road. Hnn… I suppose they aren't a waste of air like I originally thought. They would make excellent heirs to my company in the distant future.
I'm not too happy with this one but hey, an update is an update. And if I feel like it, I can always edit and repost it in the future. Anyways, I hope to be able to get the next chapter done within the next few weeks or so but with work being hectic and school starting again, I don't know how much time I'll really have.
