Chapter 12

The sun creeps in through the blinds into Silas' bedroom where Sam still lies asleep. Silas stands at the doorway admiring the Grecian goddess that lies on his bed. "Man…it was only just a couple of minutes ago, you were in arms." Silas thinks to himself as Sam rolls over. Silas slowly walks over to the bed, never taking his eyes off her and calmly gets back into bed. Sam snuggles up him, laying her head on his chest. Silas looks down at her and smiles. He kisses the top of her head as her eyes flutter open. "Good morning beautiful." Silas says as she lazily looks up at him. "Its morning already...oh God, my kids!" Sam says jumping up. "Don't worry, Danny's had his breakfast, what didn't get on Alexis and is happily playing with Shawn and his toys. And Rafe is safely at school. I'm picking him up from school and we're going to a ball game." Silas says. "Well sir…you think of everything?" Sam smiles. "I'm not done. Come with me." Silas says leading her off the bed and out the room.

He leads her down the stairs. "All right close your eyes." Sam does and he leads her into the kitchen. "Mmmmm…something smells wonderful." "Well then open your eyes." Sam does and she gasps. Lying on the table was a full breakfast spread. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast with juice and coffee. "You did this?" "Duh. I happen to be a pretty decent cook." Silas says as Sam jumps into his arms and kisses him. It took him off guard for a moment before he deepens the kiss. Sam looks at him bright eyes. "Wow all this for me? I'm so lucky right now." Sam thinks to herself as he puts her down and she sits down. "So Mrs. Morgan, did you sleep well?" Silas asks pouring her juice before sitting down. "I slept beautifully. It was…peaceful." Sam says as he starts to eat. "Good. I'm glad" "How about you? I mean…after the dream." Sam asks slowly. "I slept well." Silas says. "Ok…so are you going to tell me what it was about?" Sam asks as Silas looks at her. "Guess not"

There was an awkward silence followed by Silas sighing. "It was a nightmare. A recurring one." "About…your father?" "No…worse." "What could worse than your father?" Sam asks as Silas swallows hard. "Oh…I see." Sam says taking a bite of her toast. Silas takes a sip of his coffee. "Like I said, he wasn't always like that. It's just when she died, everything else did too." "Then why dream about it?" "I don't try to. But he always said that if he ever found his Olivia again he was coming for me." Silas shrugs as he finishes his breakfast. "But he never did." "He thought he did, didn't he? So I guess he's living up to his word so to speak." "When did you start having them?" Sam asks. "The day after he escaped. Silas says.

Sam drops her fork on her plate and stares at Silas with a blank look. "You…knew he had escaped?" "They informed me." "So the whole time he was out killing all these people, you knew?" Sam says growing angry. "Hold on Samantha, I went looking for him. I did everything to try to find him. Contacted all his old acquaintances, his band members and manager seeing if they had came in contact with him. Only to freak them out by the fact he was on the loose. I looked everywhere for him. Thinking I could talk some sense into him. I didn't know he was heading to New York let along Port Charles until you told me." Silas says. "He was out tormenting all those people including me and my son and you knew he was loose…" Sam starts out slowly. "What was I supposed to do huh, Sam? Call you, a random stranger and say hey, I think my psychotically deranged brother might be heading your way because you look so much like my dead sister-in-law!" Silas spats out.

All Sam could do was look at him. She could tell he was frustrated, this probably not being the first time someone indirectly blamed him for Stephen's wrong doing. "Silas…I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to…" Sam starts. "Let it go." "But Silas…" "Samantha, drop it." Silas says darkly taking away her dishes. Sam wanted to stay and help with the dishes but felt her presence was becoming a burden. She started to walk out of the kitchen when she heard "I didn't move your things. Everything is still in the living room where you left it." Silas says lowly. The tone in his voice shook Sam to her core. To keep from breaking in front of him she just walked upstairs to take a shower. It took everything in him not to run after her. To wrap her in his arms and put Stephen out of both their minds. "You see what you did Silas…It has begun…" Stephen's voice comes across his mind. Silas looks up at the window to see his reflection but doesn't. All he could see was his brother laughing back at him. All his emotions began to bubble over. Everything that he had been holding in for so long spilled out.

Sam was in the shower letting the warm water overtake her. She started to slide down the wall of the shower when she heard a glass break. She hastily turned the water off, found a towel to wrap herself in and rushes out the bathroom. Heading down the stairs she heard more glass breaking, stuff hitting the floor and Silas yelling. She manages to get within viewing range to see Silas destroying the kitchen. "Damn it! Damn you Stephen! You made me this way! You ruined me!" Silas yells into the window as he punches it out. Sam couldn't take anymore. "SILAS! Silas please stop! PLEASE!" Sam yells, trembling with tears streaming down her face. Sam's voice breaks into Silas' blind violent rage and he turns and looks at her. For the first since meeting him, Sam didn't see Silas standing in front of her. She saw the man that put her family through hell. Made all her nightmares come true. The one man that almost took her life. She was staring face to face with Stephen Clay. Silas just stood there, chest heaving up and down, kitchen in complete disarray. Blood was dripping from his still clinched fist. Shards of glass still embedded in his hand and wrist. Sam looked at him, trying to find any trace of Silas behind the cold blueness of his eyes. Looking at Sam, her face that was once filled with happiness and contempment now filled with fear and confusion.

"Samantha…I'm sorry….I'm so sorry." Silas says as he starts to walk over to Sam. She just stood there looking at him. She didn't know if it was fear or sorrow that kept her there. "…what happened?" Sam says softly. "I…just couldn't take it anymore." Silas says going to caress her face but she flinches away. She starts to back away. "Samantha please…don't walk away from me…please…" Silas goes towards her but stops. Sam keeps looking at him as she heads up the stairs back to the bathroom. When she gets out she walks past Silas' bedroom and finds him sitting on the side of his bed cleaning his hand and wrist up. He doesn't notice her walk in until she takes the rag out his hand and kneels down to finish cleaning his hand. She bandages his hand and looks up at him. Silas' usual blue color was faded behind the redness of his tear stained eyes. He turns his head, embarrassed to even face her after what just took place. "Silas…look at me." Sam says but he keeps staring at the wall. "Look at me!" Sam turns his head so they are dead locked into each other's eyes. Sam looking for the right words to say but couldn't, kisses him. She didn't know why or what reason she had for doing this but it felt like it was needed. Silas pulls away and looks at her. "Samantha….why…" He starts but she silences him. "Ssshhh... not now…just let me take the pain away." Samantha says softly as she places soft kisses on his lips. "Samantha…I…" Silas begins but is stopped by Sam kissing him passionately.

Silas moans against her lips as she slowly rises up and sits in his lap, straddling him. "Forget the world Silas…forget everything. Just live in this moment…" Sam says rubbing her hands through his hair. "Samantha…" "Lose yourself in me. Let me be your strength…" Sam whispers softly. Silas looks at her, the desire building in her eyes. "Yes…yes…" Silas says as Sam gently pushes him onto the bed and kisses him…
