Dearest readers,
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey into expanding the world of the Penderwicks. We are such a small fandom, and I am honored and flattered that my story has gotten the attention and positive response of so many viewers. I cannot be more grateful for all of your support and enthusiasm in this story.
I am posting with both good and bad news. The bad news is this: I will likely no longer be updating this fanfiction. I started this in a completely different mindset in a very different time of my life, and I don't think I can honor my original idea for this story any more. I will not delete this story or take it down or make it private - it will stay up for as long as this website exists, and feel free to enjoy what little of it I did post for as long as you desire.
The good news is this: I am taking it upon myself, now that I am a freshman in college and winter break is an actual break, to revise this story! I will be taking the original concept of "The Second Perfect Summer" and rewriting it. I've been learning a lot about character development and story analysis, and I think I can make this story as great as my seventh-grade self dreamed it would be. It will probably contain a lot of my original writing, or at least the original concept, but it will be better. This time I'm not going to write Rosalind out of the story only to bring her back a chapter later (shout out to those of you that have been hanging around this long!). It's gonna be great. I hope you can all continue to follow this story into its new life, and if you decide not to, thank you for the time you have spent with me and my version of the wonderful Penderwick sisters.
