The next morning, Kim woke up to the sound of vomiting and sighed as she cautiously detangled herself from the web of bodies that lay on her bed. "I'll go check on her." Kai whispered from his place above her head. Slinking out from under Monìque, he added, "Besides, you already took your shift two hours ago." Feeling the sleep pressing down on her consciousness, she yawned as she nodded drowsily. "Alright, but come get me if you can't handle it." She conceded in reluctance, falling back onto the bed. The Martial Arts Instructor smiled as she immediately fell asleep. Following the sounds of running water, he walked into the downstairs bathroom to see Brittanya brushing her teeth. Knocking the door lightly with his knuckles, he waited for the Queen's Assassin to notice his presence before he strolled in. "How are you feeling?" the girl glanced up in the mirror before she washed out her mouth. "Believe it or not, I've been worse." Placing down her toothbrush, she placed her hand on her stomach. "Why did this have to happen to me?" she whispered begrudgingly, tears welling up in her eyes as she turned to regard her best friend. "Oh, Briz…" opening his arms to receive her, she openly wept into his chest as he gently wrapped his arms about her. After a while, she calmed down enough to look up at him through her red-rimmed eyes. Gently wiping away her tears, the undercover agent felt his heart ache as he wished vehemently to remove the pain she conveyed. "Come on, let's get you to bed." He whispered comfortingly, hoping that the way he held her as they made their way back to Kim's room wouldn't betray his innermost thoughts.

Later that day, Kai and Ron decided to be the ones to make brunch, so that the girls could be left to converse in the living room. Looking up from his mixing, the noiret watched the smiles and giggles that came from the group of gals and felt his heart warm considerably at the laughter that erupted from Brittanya. "Uh, dude…" feeling a nudge in his side, he turned to the guilty party with a bemused expression. "That's the fourth time I've seen you look over there." The blond smirked as he took the bowl from the now blushing Martial Arts Instructor. "Sounds like you got an angle, Ron." He murmured somewhat guiltily, causing the chef to chuckle as he poured the batter on the griddle. "There's no angle, Kai; just wondering if there's a reason for why that keeps happening." There was a moment of silence before the sable-haired male sighed, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. "Yeah… I'm just worried about Briz, that's all." The sunshine-haired man smiled as he lifted the whisk to test the viscosity of the mixture before he grabbed the ingredients. "I can respect that, and we're all worried about her." Placing a bag of chocolate chips on the counter, he added, "But I have reason to believe that you care about her, and more than you're allowing yourself to show." Opening the fridge, he nudged the onyxet towards it. "Now do me a favor and try to focus on making a batch of scrambled eggs." The early-twenties male sniggered as he pulled out the egg carton and went to work.
