19. Medical Means

The next couple of months following Spring Break brought about three changes: continued breakfasts at the Possible's residence, Brittanya's visible process of pregnancy and the Rockwaller twins living under the Doctors' roof as they searched for a place to call their own. Despite their mother's wishes, she and Bonnie had not been home for almost five months and had found no difficulty in contributing to the expenses and responsibilities within their new household. Due to the brunette's present condition, Mr. Possible had taken up the responsibility of changing the rec room into a new bedroom and on-suite bathroom as an accommodation for her. Kai smiled as he rested beside the swollen abdomen of his bestfriend, snickering as he felt the imprints of growing limps pressing against his face. "You're lucky that it doesn't hurt when they do that." The mother-to-be sighed as she threaded her fingers through his hair. "So, are you excited about your doctor's visit?" he inquired with a smile, carefully rolling onto his stomach to look up at the scowl that awaited him. "C'mon, at least you'll know what you'll be giving birth to." He encouraged with a gentle rub against her stomach.

The Queen's Guard only sighed as she halted his ministrations. "Kai, I know you're only tryna cheer me up and I'm very appreciative of that." Sliding down to rest on his shoulder, she turned into him. "It's just that… I'm scared to know." Feeling his voice rumble against her cheek, she smiled as he hugged her to himself. "Briz, I know you're scared. But you have to understand that you are not alone in all this: I'm here for you; the Possibles are here for you, Delle's here for you, your godfamily's here for you, Unique's here for you and Tara's definitely cheering you on." Tilting her chin upwards, he wiped the tears that cascaded down her cheeks. "Just because your parents aren't in your corner, doesn't mean that no one's rooting for." Gently helping her sit up, the noiret slipped off the bed before holding out his hand. "Now, why don't we go to Dr. Anne's office and see what's going on with the twins?" with a shaky smile, she accepted the hand and got ready for her check-up.
