Hello again! Wow, it's weird to think that I said I would update and never did - that notice was about two years ago as well. Heh. Uh, sorry. A bunch of things happened to my life and I sort of lost interest in fanfiction for a while, which really sucked because I did truly want to complete this series! I've just been really busy with life - had a few things really affect me and knock me out of writing for a while, and then a bunch of life changes, for want of a better term.
(Another small issue I had is that every time I wandered back with a 'maybe I should have another go' mood, I found myself stuck. I had no idea why back then, but I think I've finally figured out why: I've forgotten to introduce a character who is kind of essentially to Tortall's current monarchy. You know that incredible princess that rides around with her best friend and bodyguard? The one who will probably never go back home? Yeah, I forgot to introduce Thayet. Uh. Heh. Anyway I'm hoping that's why, every time I looked at my story and reached for a pen, I would go "Something doesn't feel right" - well because it wasn't right, since Thayet is a big character in this story...and she's kinda...not there. Oops. Well, with that figured out, I'm hoping that was the main and only writer's block that was just...stuck in my way.
In any case, I'm hoping to get back into this, partly because I'm so close to finishing anyway - but the main reason is that I have so many lovely people who have dropped by my inbox in the few years I vanished, inquiring about the story and if I was ever going to finish it! While I don't know if I can, you can rest assured that I will have another crack at it!
So, let's see how this goes. Sorry again for my long absence!
