Kate starts to panic and gets out of the water and looks around the lake to see if she can see him anywhere. As Kate is looking she finally sees Humphrey resurface and get out of the water.
"Oh my god, Humphrey!" Kate yells to him with a worried look on her face. "Are you alright?" All Humphrey does is nod and shakes the water out of his fur, as he is doing that Kate walks over to him and leans against him. When she does that Humphrey looks at her.
"I'm really sorry if I scared you Kate," Humphrey says.
"It's okay. I'm just happy that your fine and that your still alive," Kate said and licks Humphrey's cheek. Humphrey smiles and licks her cheek back.
"So, umm... Kate. Just wondering are, you still thinking about going to Alpha school or are you not going to go?" Humphrey asks with a little bit of a nervous tone in his voice, but has a curious look on his face.
"I still kinda want to. But if I was to go to alpha school I wouldn't be able to be with you anymore, so I'm not going to go," Kate says. When Humphrey heard this he formed a big smile on his face.
"Really? Your not going to go?" Humphrey asks and Kate nods to confirm what he just asked.
"Are you going to tell your mom and dad about us?" Humphrey asks.
"They are going to want to know why I don't want to go to alpha school, so yeah, I'm going to have to tell them. But I want you to be there with me when I tell them," Kate said looking at Humphrey.
"Sure but do you want to wait to tell them later or should we go tell them now?" Humphrey asks.
"If you want to we can go now so we can get it over with," Kate tells him. Humphrey nods and stands up, Kate stands up too and they start to walk back to Kate's parents' den.
When they get to where they have to walk up the slope Humphrey stops. Seeing that Humphrey stopped Kate stops too and looks at him, a little confused.
"Something wrong Humphrey?" Kate asks.
"What if your mom freaks out?" Humphrey asks with a nervous tone.
"She won't freak out and if she does she won't do anything to you. We are just pups so she can't hurt you," Kate says trying to comfort him a little. Humphrey nods and they walk up the slope and into Winston's and Eve's den, when they walk in both Eve and Winston look to see who it is. When they notice it's Kate and Humphrey they stand up and walk up to them.
"You two are back early. Why is that?" Winston asks.
"Well, I finally made my decision dad," Kate says.
"Oh and what did you decide to do?" Both Eve and Winston ask.
"I decided that I don't want to go to alpha school," Kate says a little nervous, Eve and Winston look at Kate with a surprised look.
"Are you sure you don't want to go Kate?" Winston asks, Kate nods and then looks at Humphrey who is standing next to her.
"If you don't mind me asking, could you tell me the reason you decided not to go?" Eve asks, a little curious.
"Eve... I could tell you why," Humphrey says.
"Then tell me Humphrey," Eve says.
"She doesn't want to go because if she does she wouldn't be a-able to be w-with me," Humphrey says nervous on to how she would react.
"Oh, so you two like each other?" Eve asks still a little curious, both Kate and Humphrey nod.
"So you both went from not liking each other to liking each other in just one day?" Eve asks a little confused.
"About that mom, I lied when you asked me I actually did like him," Kate says.
"I also lied Eve, I liked Kate when you asked me and I still do like her," Humphrey says, when Eve hears that both of them lied she slightly growls.
"Okay just don't ever lie to me again," Eve says with an angry tone. "You two could have just told me,"
"To be honest Eve I didn't know how you would react," Humphrey tells her still slightly nervous.
"I get a lot of people that say that to me but I rarely ever do anything to them. Especially a pup. I would never do anything to a pup," Eve says, Humphrey sighs in relief when he hears that.
"So your okay with me and Kate dating?" Humphrey asks a little excited, Eve looks a little more surprised.
"You never said you two were dating," Eve says with a really surprised look.
"Oh, well, I said a bunch of things that hinted at me and Kate dating but I guess you didn't catch on to it," Humphrey says.
"But it's up to you mom and dad. We will only go out with each other if you allow us to," Kate says. Eve looks at Winston then looks back at Kate.
"Your father and I will have to talk about it. So don't go telling everyone that you two are dating because you aren't until Winston and I agree that it's okay, okay?" Eve says. Both Kate and Humphrey nod.
"Okay, so if you two want you can go now and go hang out again," Eve said, and right as she says that Lilly runs into the den.
"Oh, Lilly, do you have something to tell me too?" Eve asks a little curious.
"Well there is this one wolf that I like and I was wondering if it was okay for him to come over for dinner, so that you can get to know him more," Lilly tells her mom.
"Can you at least tell me who this wolf is, because maybe I might know him?" Eve asks.
"Sorry mom. I can't tell you because I want it to be a surprise for you," Lilly explains.
"Hmm... I guess you can," Eve says.
"Thank you mom!" Lilly slightly yells as she runs over to her mom and hugs her. Eve hugs Lilly back and has a tear in her eye, Winston sees it and looks at Eve.
"Is something wrong hun?" Winston asks Eve.
"N-no I'm just a little sad because it seems like my little girls are growing up so fast," Eve said starting to tear up more.
"Oh mom, please don't cry. We will always be you're little girls," Kate says walking over to her mom and hugs her, Eve hugs Kate back.
"I know that... just don't grow up to fast okay?" Eve says as she wipes her tears away with her tail. Both Lilly and Kate nod and then Lilly runs out of the den to tell her 'boyfriend' that he can come over for dinner.
Kate walks back over to Humphrey and leans against him. Humphrey licks Kate's cheek and she laughs a little.
"Humphrey that tickles! Please stop," Kate says while laughing. Humphrey stops licking her and looks at Eve and Winston.
"You said we can go right?" Humphrey asks. Winston and Eve both nod.
"Yes, you may go if you like now, just remember no telling people you two are dating because your not yet," Eve says. Kate and Humphrey nod and walk out of the den and out of Eve and Winston's sight. As soon as they leave the den both Eve and Winston look at each other.
"So what do you think? Should we allow them to date?" Eve asks.
"Well, I think they look really good together, and I know Humphrey wouldn't hurt her. He would take care of her even though they are only pups, and they could both sleep here in our den," Winston replies.
"Yeah, they do look good together, but the thing is... they are just pups. What if this is just puppy love and they just think they love each other but they really don't?" Eve says.
"Well, if that is the case then they will grow out of the puppy love and will end up actually loving each other," Winston replies again.
"Fine. I guess they can date each other," Eve says with a little bit of a defeated look on her face. What Eve and Winston didn't know was that Kate and Humphrey were actually hiding around the corner of the den and heard what they said. Humphrey and Kate then run down the slope and to their little hiding spot.
(Lilly's POV)
After we got mom to stop crying I ran out of the den and started to run to my 'boyfriend's' parents' den. When I got to their den I peeked inside to see if they were home or not. When I looked into the den I didn't see anyone in there but I walked into the den to see if they were just in the back of the den. Once I walked into the den I saw that Garth and Tony were home but Garth's mom wasn't there. I kept walking noticing that both Garth and his dad were both looking at me.
"Is that you Lilly?" Tony and Garth asked not able to really see who it was.
"Yeah it's me," I said as I got closer to them. I took one more step forward before getting tackled by Garth. I started to laugh as he started to lick all over my face.
"I missed you so much Lilly," Garth says as he stops liking my face and gets off me.
"You just saw me yesterday though. It hasn't been that long," I say to him with a smile on my face.
"Well I still missed you after you left yesterday. I love spending time with you Lilly," Garth explains to me.
"Aww well i missed you too. But i came here to see if you wanted to come over for dinner with my family," I say to Garth forgetting that his dad was in the den too.
"I would love to come over for dinner with you Lils," Garth says smiling and wagging his tail. Tony clears his throat and looks at me and Garth.
"Oh that is if your okay with that Garth's dad," I say to Tony with a pleading look.
"Please call me Tony, and as much as i would love to let him go with you to dinner I can't. He's in trouble and can't leave the den until his mom lets him," Tony says glaring at Garth as he walks over to his dad with his ears down and tail between his legs.
"Can't you go ask his mom if she can let him out of the den just to go to my parents den for dinner? You both can come with to make sure he doesn't go anywhere else," I ask him with a slightly disappointed look on my face.
Tony sighs and looks at Garth then back at me. "I guess i can see what i can do. But no promises though because she can be really unpredictable sometimes," Tony says with a defeated look.
"Oh so you think that I'm unpredictable now?" An unknown wolf says from the entrance of the den. I look at the den to see who it was but only really sees a black outline of a wolf.
(To where Kate and Humphrey are)
Kate and Humphrey are both laying in the den just relaxing for a while before having to go back to Kate's parent's den for dinner. Also so they can go see what they think about Humphrey and Kate dating even though they already know.
"Do you think that they might change their mind before we go back?" Kate asks Humphrey with a worried look.
"I don't really know anymore. Because your mom isn't the same wolf that I have been told she was. But i really doubt they will," Humphrey says nuzzling Kate's cheek and snuggles up to her. They both close their eyes and end up falling asleep.
(In Sawtooth National Park)
A wolf was walking around the park and one of the old territories that he used to live in when he was with his mate. He had heard that after he left the pack and his mate that the pack had been attacked and everyone died. But he didn't wanna believe it, so after about a month or so he finally had gotten the courage to come look for himself. The wolf walked to every den hoping that he would find the wolf that he was looking for but once he got to the den that him and his mate shared he was forced to believe what he heard. What he saw as soon as he looked in was that the back of the den was a wolf skeleton and the back wall still had some dried blood on it. The wold fell to the ground crying. "I...I'm so sorry i left you and our son here all alone Annette. Maybe just maybe if i had stayed you wouldn't have died here," The wolf looks at the skeleton again with tears in his eyes but then notices that there was only that one skeleton there not his son's too. He then thinks to himself "If it's not here does that mean he got away?" He keeps thinking then decides that he would go to look but as soon as he got to the entrance of the den it started to rain hard, so he decided to just stay in the den. He laid down at the entrance staring out of it. "Please Humphrey if you're out there i hope your at least in a safe place," the wolf thought to himself before closing his eyes to rest.
A/N: There is the long waited for chapter 6. I am very sorry that it took this long to update this story. I will be trying to get updates out earlier now. I am hoping to at least get one more chapter done for this story and for my other story while im gone. Please bear with me because I am having to think of ideas as i go. But i think now that i got this chapter done I can get chapters done quicker. Until then i will cya guess in my next updates. bye.
