Chapter 16

Sorry if I haven't updated in a little while, I've been super into this visual novel called If My Heart Had Wings. It's got an amazing story and interesting characters. Have any of you ever played it? If so, which character is your favorite? I like Amane the most. Might make a story of it one day once I've finished it. I'm still waiting for the last two scenarios to be unlocked. Check it out, it's free on the Google play store. Anyway, let's get to the story.

April 28 - dark hour

As soon as they entered Tartarus, tiara shadows came rushing towards the group. "Get the fuck out of our way!" Junpei exclaimed, shooting himself with his evoker, and Hermes easily cleaved them in twain. "Yeah! I'm getting stronger!" He celebrated.

"Don't get a swelled head yet, Junpei." Yukari chimed in.

"Yeah, yeah..." Junpei sighed.

"There's a larger shadow slowly heading your way!" Mitsuru warned.

"Is it as strong as the ones on the 5th floor?" Nagito asked.

"I don't think so, but it's a lot stronger than the maya and tiara shadows. Be on your guard."

"Roger." Nagito responded.

The group continued down the corridor taking out smaller shadows until they reached the big one. It was enormous beetle. "Kya! I-It's a giant bug!" Yukari screamed.

Nagito has never been afraid of insects, but even the size of this giant beetle scared the living shit out of him. It was like that one horror movie he watched about giant killer bugs when he was a kid.

"What are you guys freaking out about? If it's a giant bug, then you just gotta squish it?!" Junpei confidently stated.

The big beetle then started charging at them. "Come get crushed, buggy! Blast em Hermes!" Junpei's Persona summoned a fireball and threw it at the beetle. It hardly affected it and it charged right into the winged messenger. Junpei then keeled over in pain.

"Junpei!" Nagito screamed in concern. "Freeze it in place, Apsaras!" He commanded. The Hindu woman chanted and sent a share of ice towards it. It hit successfully, but that didn't stop it, either, and it rammed itself right into the dancer. Since Apsaras is weak to physical attacks, the force of it knocked him away.

"Nagito-kun!" Yukari was frightened. Both Nagito and Junpei were immobalized, and the armored insect was coming after her.

"N-No, Get away..." She muttered, putting her evoker to her head as it continued to charge at her.

"Get away!" She screamed, pulling the trigger. Her Persona Io summoned a small wind tornado. The shadow went down.

When Yukari opened her eyes, she saw the creature on its back struggling to get up.

"Its weak is exposed! Attack it now before it gets back up!" Mitsuru ordered.

"That hurt... You're gonna pay!" Junpei said, staggering to his feet.

"Let's do it." Nagito said. They all ganged up on it and a cartoonish smoke appeared. When it cleared, the shadow was gone.

When the battle was over, cards appeared in Nagito's mind. They shuffled around and Nagito landed on a Persona card. It looked like a red teardrop with an angry face. It was Ara Mitama of the Chariot arcana.

"Yukari, do you have enough energy to heal us? Nagito asked.

"Yeah, I should have enough." She responded. She summoned Io and healed everyone with Media.

They continued their foray through the nightmarish tower. They didn't have any problems along the way. They were already strong enough to kill the maya and tiaras with a single strike of their weapons. The beetles weren't really a problem, they went down rather easily with Garu. Nagito got another Persona called Angel that knew Garu. It was a naked blindfolded woman with wings. Junpei spewed blood out his nose and fainted at first sight of seeing it. Yukari wasn't too happy. Mitsuru saw it and wondered how such a sweet guy could have such a perverted looking Persona. Plus they were slow and easy to avoid.

They finally arrived at the 10th floor where the guardian shadows were at. These ones were strange looking. They were hands.

"These shadows are almost twice as strong as the ones on the 5th floor! Be cautious!" Mitsuru ordered.

"Alright! Go get em, Hermes! Junpei summoned his Persona. "Burn them alive!" He commanded. The winged messenger lit his wings on fire and charged at the middle shadow. It dodged his attack.

"Dammit!" Junpei complained.

The shadow then snapped its fingers and summoned a small tornado and it knocked Junpei down, hurting him severely.

"Junpei! Yukari, heal him right away! Nagito commanded.

"R-Right!" Yukari obeyed.

As soon as Yukari began running over to the injured class clown, one of the other hands snapped its fingers and shot a lightning bolt at Yukari, knocking her out.

"Yukari! Whoah! Nagito exclaimed as he barely avoided a lightning bolt.

This was a dangerous situation. Nagito was surrounded by three strong shadows that could easily exploit his weaknesses and take him out. He could retreat but he'd have to leave his downed allies behind, but he could never forgive himself if he left his friends to die.

"Hey! Dumbass!"

Huh? Who are you? Nagito asked the angry voice in your head.

"I'm that part of you that you failed to use yet, you stupid fuck!" The angry voice started swearing. "You don't wanna fucking die, then call on me for one in your miserable fucking life!" The pissed off Persona had a bigger potty mouth than AlphaOmegaSin.

A-Alright, I'll do it.

He put his evoker to his head. "Ara Mitama!" And pulled the trigger.

The angry red teardrop appeared. It began spinning furiously and charged full speed at the middle shadow and it practically desentigrated.

One of the other hands tried to slap Ara Mitama, but due to the Person's resistance to physical attacks, Nagito hardly felt a thing. The pissed off teardrop then Uppercut the shadow in its palm and it was sent flying and landed near Nagito's feet. He then finished it off by stabbing his rapier into it. The final shadow cast Agi on Nagito, but it didn't do a whole lot of damage because of Ara Mitama's high durability. Nagito leaped towards the hand, thrusting his sword into it, killing it instantly. After the battle, his Persona Angel randomly learned Recarm for some reason. He used the new spell to revive Yukari and Junpei.

"What happened? Where'd those shadows go? Yukari asked, confused.

"Don't worry, I got em." Nagito said.

"Aw man, and I wanted to get revenge for them taking." Junpei said disappointed.

"Let's get outta here." Nagito said. The trio activated the access point and returned to the entrance.

"Excellent work, Nagito. I definitely made the right choice making you leader." Mitsuru complimented Nagito, making him blush.

"T-Thank you, Mitsuru-senpai." He said, nervously scratching his head.

As soon as Nagito and the others turned around and walked away, Mitsuru started blushing. D-Did I just call him by his first name in front of everyone?

Again, sorry if it took so long to get this out. I'm already getting used to typing with this tablet, I just had a minor case of writer's block. What do you think of the fight scenes?
