Chapter 5,
'What do you mean?' I look at Jeremiah who found us in a motel. 'Well, Sorora can't use her power because of a new weapon. And I don't know about Leila. 'I walk back and forth. 'We have to find them!' I conclude. 'But we can't, we have to hide for a while' I look angry at Jeremiah. 'We are in danger and our friends are already caught, how do you expect us to do nothing?' 'Keep moving, that's the best suggestion I can make for you now...We'll keep in contact.' He disappears and I am alone with Raymond, again.
'I suppose the facility will send more.' He says while undressing himself. He has a great body and now I understand Mallory. 'You can see more if you want too' He says with this annoying sexy, sensual voice. 'I'd rather not' I undress myself too and step into bed. 'Just saying' He mumbles and we fall asleep.
I wake up laying on Raymond's chest. 'I didn't do it.' he says laughing. I hit him hard and step out of bed. 'We better move.' I say and dress myself before I brush my teeth and wash my face. 'You know, I think I have the perfect address.' I look at him with one eyebrow up. 'Where?' He answers with a smile.
'Aunt Austine.' He says with a big smile and hugs the old lady. 'Ray! After all those years…' She starts to cry and holds him tight. 'Barbara! Look who's back after all those years' she yells. A girl with pink hair and bubble gum in her mouth walks in. 'Well Ray, you've grown.' She blows a bubble and pops it with her long pointy nail. 'Can we come in? I want to explain everything.' 'Yes , yes of course sweetie, come in I just finished brown bean soup on the Dutch way.' We walk in the house which is full of cats and antique. It looks so peaceful and clean. 'So, are you his girlfriend or what?' I look at Barbara. She walks on high wedges with rainbow colored straps. She wears a tight white jegging with a colorful top. 'No I'm not…I'm more his colleague.' She grabs my braid and studies it. 'Girl, when was the last time you cut and dyed your hair?' I grab my braid back and smile shyly. 'I never dyed or cut it.' 'Well it's beautiful but we can make it so much cooler!' Within a second we are in her room and she pushes me on a chair.
3 hours later I walk down with lavender colored hair which is also cut till my shoulders. I wear clean clothes and I look like someone else. 'So Ray Ray how bout this?' Barbara says and shows me like I'm a doll. 'Barbara, why did you do this to that poor girl?' Her mother says. 'I actually quite like it.' Raymond answers. I wear a complete black outfit and my hair looks so purplish. How can he like that? 'You see! He likes it mother, it's fine, and she needed some girl time.' 'Constantine is this right? We can recolor your hair anytime!' Austine is so sweet. 'It's fine, I like it.' She smiles and nips her tea. 'So I was wondering…Are we in danger?' He nods. 'Unfortunately we are, aunt. But I will protect you as I did with Constantine and she has a gift too.' He tries to reassure her by patting her hand. 'Also, they don't know you're my aunt and that Barbara is my niece, so you'll be save anyway' She smiles. 'If that is that case why don't you stay here?' she suggested. 'Yeah Ray, we could use some help around here.' Barbara makes another bubble and winks when it pops. 'We can't, we have to move on, but we would like to stay the night.' She nods. 'Of course, the guest room is still empty.' she answers.
Before we are going to bed, Austine holds Raymond in her old arms. 'Promise me that you don't die.' she whispers. 'Of course aunt, I can't leave you alone with Barbara, can I now?' She giggles and he kisses her hair. 'Go sleep aunt, you need it, please don't worry.'
This was the first and probably the last time I see Raymond feeling connected with someone.
