Chapter 7,
After a couple of days we found a small town. Actually we walked a lot and when Duncan had enough energy he drove us. But eventually 2 brothers helped us. They brought us to a hotel where we booked 2 rooms. Like old times, Mallory and I share a room. We take a shower and buy new clothes from the market. When we get back, the guys awaited us with a cool ice tea and some food.
Later that night I can't sleep. It is too hot and Mallory is mumbling in her sleep. I really wish she will shut up later. All of a sudden she stands up and she start to walk. Where was she going? I follow her but stay a few steps behind her. When she is outside, around the corner, two soldiers throw her in the same net Raymond was captured in weeks ago. I also see Donnie. This guy is evil. He always annoyed people with his gift. When someone sleeps he can make them do everything he wants. But nobody will notice it because they think they are dreaming. Mallory wakes up and starts to scream. Someone else is getting pushed forward to stand next to Donnie: Leila. All of a sudden Mallory is mute and she gets taken away. I have to run! That is the first thought what comes up, I turn around and a big soldier looks down on me. 'Hello Constantine.' He whispers. He tries to grab me but I'm faster! I push his arm away and hit his chest right on the point where his heart is. Then I crack his ribs and I hear him panting. I break his nose and throw him on the ground. I start to run inside the hotel and see the other soldiers waiting for the elevator. Losers. I run up the stairs and hope I'm faster.
I sneak into the room of the guys and wake them up. 'Come on guys, they found us, and they have Mallory!' I whisper while hitting them. They wake up and nod. Jeremiah grabs Raymond and they disappear. Duncan changes himself into a lamp and I am the only one standing here. 'Thanks!' I whisper angry.
The door bashes open and I look at them calmly. Show no fear, don't scream just kick their asses! That was my new found motto. 'Constantine, we can do this the easy way or we can do it the hard way.' One of them says with a low voice. 'Is this a choice I can make or will you make?' I dare him. He points his gun at me. I kick the small chair that was standing in front of me and grab the soldier and start the fight. Jeremiah and Raymond appear behind 2 other soldiers and snap their neck fast. I kick the soldier and hit him in his face. Another soldier is standing close to Duncan. He is surprised when the lamps grabs him and changes in a snake and strangles him. I throw the soldier out of the room and kill him with his own knife. Before I can kill the last standing soldier Raymond lifts me and I scream angrily. 'We need someone to deliver a message.' Duncan explains. But I can't hear the rest what he was saying against the soldier.
We drove and walked and ran again until we were hidden at a small village near a jungle. But of course they could find us again! 'Throw the nets!' One of the soldiers screams. Jeremiah grabs Duncan and pushes him into a shadow. Just before the net could catch him, he rolls towards Duncan and they disappear. I run away and make the perfect screwdriver in the air. I kick one of the soldiers so I can pass him and kill another one by using my weight in his throat. I climb upon a rooftop but a bald guy grabs my leg.
I don't want to get caught … I'd rather die…
