Chapter 10,
'Mallory' I almost sound too happy. 'Constantine…they send me to ask you to stop your search' She says this with a sad and monotone voice. This isn't the Mallory I know. 'And why would I do that?' I wonder. Behind me I hear Raymond growl. 'They pumped her full of shit' Duncan says. 'Otherwise they kill us all' Mallory didn't even blink. It was like talking to a robot. 'As if! We are all too valuable for them!' Jeremiah answered sarcastically. He disappeared and appeared behind her and grab her arm. Mallory's reaction was faster and she grabbed him with her other hand. I see him choking and small black veins appear in his face. 'Mallory stop!' I scream. But she doesn't listen. 'Okay princess' Duncan kicks her and she lets Jeremiah fall. Raymond grabs him of the ground and runs into safety. 'Well 2 gone 2 to go' Mallory says dryly. Before I can attack her Duncan jumps in front of me. 'Holy shit Duncan wha..' He falls down slowly and mumbles something. When I look on his back he has a big hole. 'Yeah! Glad to be free again' A familiar voice says. ' Maria' I hiss. Maria waved and winked. She looked mean at me with her ice cold blue eyes. Her eyeliner makes her eyes look even more like a cat. Stretches her long arms like she has been running all day. Her pixie cut , which is dyed red, looks playful. 'Missed me?' She talks Dutch and I get annoyed real quick. She always did this. 'So where have you been all this time?' I ask. 'In a beautiful room with pillows everywhere' She throws another energetic ball towards me but I dodge on time. 'Ah the little mouse wants to play' She taunts me.
I grab a handful of sand throw it in her face and we end up in a fist fight. She kicks me and gives me small electric shocks every time she touches my skin. I try to focus on her instead of the pain. 'Yes become angry, I can use your energy.' I grab her red hair, pull her back and kick against her knees. She falls down and growls. 'Bitch' she yells. The next moment went so fast. We hit, kicked, dodged each other. I hit her precisely between her breasts and she falls down on her back. I jump above her and press my thumbs in her eyes. She yells. And I don't care. I almost killed her until Mallory grabs me from behind and throws me of Maria. I scribble up and now we are in a fist fight. All of a sudden Raymond takes a run-up and hit Mallory. She flies several feet away from us and is unconscious. He changes back and looks at Duncan. 'How is Jeremiah doing?' 'Good considering he could've death' He answers dryly.
After 2 days Jeremiah was up and running again. Raymond was on the lookout when Jeremiah takes a seat next to me on the ground. 'So how are you doing?' He asks friendly. 'I'm fine' I drink out of a bottle water I bought somewhere. He nods. 'So I wanted to tell you something…already since the facility…' He moves closer to me like it's a big secret he needs to share. 'Sure' Instead of telling me something he kisses me! I push him away and hit him. 'What the hell Jeremiah!' 'Sorry Constantine' He says and disappears. Raymond comes running and looks confused. 'What happened?' He asks. 'Jeremiah just kissed me and now he disappeared' I say angry. We waited another day for Jeremiah but he didn't come back. 'We have to move if we ever want to find the facility…I suspect it's somewhere in the desert' I'd take my chances and we leave the place behind us. I hire a car and we start to drive.
It has been several hours when I see something blinking. 'There' I whisper against him. He narrows his eyes and looks at me with a strange glance. 'Stop the car' He says all of a sudden. I do as he says and he jumps out without saying anything. He grabs a cloth and a bottle of water and he commands me to get out too. 'Raymond what is going on?' I ask. 'Pout your lips' 'No why?' Without warning, without any known sign, he pecks my lips with his. 'CT I knew it!' I pull up my eyebrow and he starts rubbing my lips with the cloth drenched in water. Ct is a poison that slowly stops your heart. 'But how' I ask with my painfully lips. He pecks my lips again. 'Yeah it is gone' 'That is not what I asked' I mumble. 'How about a slobbering kiss of your good friend Jeremiah?' He says it like I should've known. 'But how can it last so long?' I wonder out loud. 'Well I don't know…He did play it well though…If I see him I'll kill him' He promises. 'But you better not drive for 30 minutes so let's take a break.' I nod and take a seat and close my eyes. I really need some rest before we have to fight.
We waited until it had cooled down. We sneaked towards the facility. I notice there are cameras everywhere and soldiers walking around. 'So I go for the professors you take the guards and free as much of the others as possible...' He nods and we both go another way. I grab a small rock I find somewhere and throw it to a soldier. Luckily I hit him and he falls down. I strip him of his keycard and his knife. Lastly I take his bulletproof vest and 2 grenades. I grab his gun and walk further.
Raymond awaited me at the door until I open it with the card. 'Good luck…partner' I say. He gives me the most generous smile ever and we walk inside.
'Nein! You cannot use more of them!' 'Two of them are running around and killing everybody!' 'I already lost too many gifted ones…How do you expect me building an army! Nein ist Nein!' The English guard walks away defeated and the German man is mumbling. He talks about the dangers, the army and that he knows that someone is here. Wait…He knows I'm here? 'Kommst du bitte' He commands. I slowly appear around the corner. 'Hello Constantine, it took you long enough' His English sounds terrible. 'I want to finish this, sir Blöm' I say it in German so he knows what to expect. 'I know Constantine, but before we continue with that, I want to give you something' I lower my gun and wait. He throws me an USB. 'What is this?' I ask studying the small device. 'A virus, meine liebschen, I always wanted to stop this facility and their disturbing plans…They ruined so much families…so much pain… I've schemed this plan long enough now..Put the USB in the computer of the locked office..the virus I created will do the work…But do this only when you saved them' I hear a light tremble in his voice. 'Why didn't you do it yourself earlier?' 'You are not the only one with a gift of remembering everything….And my daughter Francine is in there…I needed my patience…Unfortunately she doesn't know me but this was the only way I could keep an eye on her..Now please get over it before that annoying guy is coming back. He is whining too much' He sighs and I shoot him straight through his head.
I'm almost there…It is almost over..
