Ava sat at her usual spot in the cafeteria reviewing her notes for her assignment while picking at her fries one by one, despite all her research though she was never able to learn whether or not the Arachnid Kid survived the great train raid. She was starting to get frustrated "this should not be this hard" she groaned slamming her text book shut. Ava didn't like feeling this way, day by day she could feel herself feeling less confident about the hope of finding out the truth.

"Ms. Ayala…" Ava turned around to face sue storm and principal Coulson "…we have some news on the cosmic storm energy that created the worm hole. Dr. Richards thinks he can duplicate it, I don't want to instill false hope but he maybe even able reverse it" Sue told her.

Without hesitation Ava quickly gathered up her books and sprung to her feet "well what we waiting for let's go!" she ordered and without waiting started towards the door.

"Motivated young woman" Sue laughed as she and Coulson followed after her.

The team was resting up on the train as it rolled along the rails towards Dodge City "this is so much better" Peter yawned "why didn't we just do this from the start?"

Marek took a swig from his beer and pressed a wet cloth to the side of his head "ow. Because when we set out Shade only had a day's head start we would have caught him."

Colt sat in his chair cleaning his revolver while Rawhide slept on the couch and girls were drinking with Marek. Peter smiled to himself no matter what era he was in a team was still a family even a dysfunctional one like this he felt at home for the first time since he arrived in this era. The train clicked and clacked on the steel rails like a soothing rhythm as Peter nodded off. His mind wandered back to his own time remembering triple bacon cheeseburgers, swinging from sky scrapers the wind rushing through his mask. And game hour with the guys but his lingering memory was on a science project with Ava their faces inches apart as they hovered over a textbook but they kept inching their way closer to each-other. "Peter?" Ava whispered.

"Peter! Peter! PETER!" James shouted as he fought of the sleeping zombie Peter.

"Wha…what? James what the hell man!" Peter shrieked as he and James pushed away from each other over the edges of the couch "dude not cool!"

"Me? You tried to kiss me you little whelp! The hell were you dreaming about?" James hollered.

"Not you if that's what you're thinking" Peter shuddered "uh I think I need a drink" he retched. With that both Peter and James made their way to the bar much to his own surprise Peter reached for the whiskey "you guys see this to right? This time it's starting to change me, drinking whiskey robbing a priest I even let Colt kill Stewart…the road changes a man"

"Hey look whose finally becoming a man" Colt chuckled slapping Peter on the back.

Peter took one mouthful and his face cringed from the over powering burning sensation it burned the whole way down, he felt it burn down to his toes before he keeled over choking "oh god…it's like gasoline!" he gagged.

"Oh grow pair you big girl" Sasha taunted as she poured him another glass "man up!"

Peter stared at his glass in awe dreading another swallow of the bottled acid "you know what I'm good I don't want to kill my liver" he joked.

"Chicken" Sasha teased.

"You know I can't remember a time when you weren't a pain" Peter replied as he picked up his glass nervously eying the bronze liquid inside "I think it's eating the glass!"

"Oh you big baby, here!" Sasha scooped up Peter's glass and poured it down his throat "there you go drinking like a big boy"

Peter grabbed his throat and started pounding on the counter trying to overpower the burning pain "oh you suck!" he choked ignoring the roaring laughter of his friends.

The team gathered at a small warehouse in the industrial district since the Baxter tower was for lack of a better word dismantled Mr. Fantastic stood at a reconstructed control panel exactly the same as the one that was destroyed at the tower.

The Shield initiative team stood behind a blast wall despite the protests from White Tiger, who wanted to be front and center when Spider-man or rather the arachnid kid returned to them but submitted to having to wait for him.

Tiger kept poking her head around the corner of the wall trying to see what was happening, Mr. Fantastic soon after activated his machine the lights flickered and whirled as the machine slowly came to life. Tiger stood and watched as an orange glowing mist manifested in the center of the room spiraling in place like a vortex. "Reaching 25% power capacity cosmic body remaining stable" Mr. Fantastic announced with slight confidence "increasing power to 40%"

The vortex began circulating faster weekly drawing in air like a vacuum just like before. The team held their breath as they watched the similar events that took their friend from them unfold before their eyes "83 % power still stable initiating time flux protocol"

The portal began circulating faster with bolts of lightning cracking inside it. A shadow soon took shape but much to everyone's discomfort it wasn't Spider-man or even a man for that fact. But a velociraptor that emerged from the vortex. The whole room fell into a deep hush as the large lizard scanned the room with its predator eyes "everybody stay calm I'll fix this" Mr. Fantastic whispered. The raptor slowly walked away from the vortex into the open space sniffing the air, its head whipped around in Tiger and the team's position its round narrowed into sharp slits.

"welcome to Jurassic park" Nova gulped as he watched the large predator began approaching them "hey Dr. stretchable now would be a good time to reverse the worm hole before the rest of the monster cast shows up! Specifically the big mother!" he panicked.

Mr. Fantastic quickly began calibrating the dials in an attempt to reverse the polarity of the worm hole "Reid?" Johnny incited. The raptor was now tearing off in a run towards the young heroes "Reid!" The Raptor was getting closer "Reid! Oh screw it!" Johnny yelled throwing his arms out igniting in fire blasting the Raptor back threw the portal in a smoking heap "that won't change past will it? I mean barbeque raptor might have been served back in the day right?" he asked.

Everyone stared at Johnny in a mix of shock and disbelief even the Thing couldn't help but be slightly shocked "I really hope that doesn't change anything"

Reid began readjusting the dials the storm cloud was recompressing into another portal showing an army of ancient solders and elephants "that's Hannibal and the elephants!" Powerman eagerly stated.

The portal fluxed again becoming a vacant window everyone stared unsure of what to do then a most unusual effect occurred, the portal swirled into view of a Central American jungle. Tigers yellow amber eyes widened like hockey pucks as she gazed upon the familiar landscape of her home and white figure leaping through the trees. Her voice became trapped in her throat she was looking at her father. "Dad?" she whimpered as her hand hesitantly inched towards the temporal window, he was right there in front of her for the first time in years she could almost touch him.

Her finger tips just touched the portal surface sending ripples across the surface she wanted to reach through and hug him one more time, without knowing it she stepped into the window nearly passing through. "Tiger!" IronFist bellowed as he yanked her back from the portal "what were you thinking? We can't lose you to!" he sternly told her.

Tiger came back to her senses as if she had been hit by a shovel, Fist was right they couldn't let themselves get distracted by personal affairs web head was still missing in the late 1800s "I'm sorry guys it's just…" she trailed off as the portal shifted once more and the white tiger faded into shadows "…my dad" she sniffled.

"It's okay Tiger we understand," Fist whispered its okay to miss the ones you love"

"Guys! It's Spidey!" Nova shouted.

All eyes turned to the portal where they saw a make shift a man in a Spider-man costume trading punches with a giant man on a moving train roof top. The giant man picked Spidey up off his feet and slammed down on the flat of his back "you've been a thorn in my side long enough bug boy!" the man growled as the train approached a low hanging mail hook dangling over the track "high time for a hanging!" he announced throwing spidey up over his head towards the hook.

"We found him! Quick bring him home!" Tiger pleaded.

Mr. Fantastic frantically began fitting himself with a specialised suit that would allow him to reach through the portal with any temporal side effects "alight Ben on my mark flip the portal collapse switch I don't want Spider-man's sparring buddy coming with him" he instructed.

"Got it, just grab the kid already!" the Thing replied.

Spider-man grabbed the hook and swung around the pole back to the giant man driving his feet into his chest knocking them both over the edge between the carts, a brief blood curdling scream rang out from the under carriage. Neither one reappeared after that.

The lab fell deathly silent as everyone stood horrified by the sight they witnessed. Tiger's eyes traveled along the console catching a glimpse of the time stamp July 21 1895. Her hand clasped over her mouth to stop herself from bursting out. "Oh no…this is the day of the train raid which means…please don't let that have been his end we just saw" she pleaded.

"God…Spidey…no" Johnny muttered grabbing a handful of his hair and turning away from the others.

The train somehow derailed and began chaotically sliding across the ground towards a ravine when the Thing shut the portal down "the kids don't need to see any more" he sighed.

The team remained frozen and silent but Tiger felt empty and broken inside having seen her father and not be able to speak then coming so close to saving Peter only to be a few seconds to late and watch his end. She pulled away from the others and ran for the streets "Tiger!" Nova hollered after her but was stopped by Powerman.

"Let her be buddy, she's hurting maybe more than us"

the team has seen a glimpse of July 21 events and believe they've seen Spider-mans end, did they though?
