Good Things
Chapter 15
Ian's POV
The day has dragged on ungodly slow. Sighing in tiredness I reluctantly check the time on my watch. 11:37pm. Well that is surprising; I assumed it was well past one in the morning. Closing my eyes I rest my head against the cool glass of the SUV's window as Stephen drives me to my hotel.
I cannot be more thankful for this day to be over. Filming was decent and we wrapped the remainder of my scenes tonight. On the other hand I felt horrible for leaving Luce alone all day. Her pregnancy sickness had been the worst yet yesterday as well as today. She stopped by for a few hours in the middle of today to bring me lunch and spend some time with me between takes.
Unfortunately Lucy wasn't feeling too well and opted to return to the hotel around 4 or so in need of a hot shower. I groan to myself when I see traffic coming to a stop yet again. I just want to get out of these clothes, wrap my arms around my girlfriend, and get some much desired sleep.
"I think I am just going to walk the last two blocks, Stephen." I announce realizing we aren't going to move any time soon.
"Are you sure, Sir?" He asks, glancing up at me through the rear view mirror.
I nod my head in confirmation then exit the vehicle.
The brisk walk doesn't take too long as my feet are determined to bring me to my destination. The elevator ride up feels longer than it took me to walk here. Relief washes over me the closer I get to my room. I jab my hotel key card into the slot and wait for the light to flip from red to green.
Pushing the door open my tired frown instantly rises to a bright smile. The room is covered with candles thus bringing a warm glow to the room. Taking a few steps into the room my eyes land on my stunning girlfriend sitting on the bed on her knees.
Lucy gracefully slides off of the bed and saunters over to my side. My eyes widen in pleasure at the sight of my girlfriend dressed in a short white see-through teddy paired with a white lace thong. Her long hair is curled in large ringlets framing her face.
"Hi babe!" Lucy tangles her arms around my neck.
She pulls me down for a lingering kiss where her tongue took control instantly. My hands find their way to her little hips pulling her flush against me.
"Mmmm hi baby. I figured you would be asleep already." I mumble against her lips unable to let go of her.
Lucy breaks away from the kiss in need to catch her breath.
Shaking her head softly she smiles happily up at me. "I took a shower earlier followed by a wonderful nap. I am wide awake. I wanted to do a little something special for you."
Lucy places one final swift kiss to my lips prior to tugging me deeper into the room. She slowly discards different articles of my clothing as she moves me through the room towards the bed. Once I am down to my boxers I find myself standing at the foot of the bed.
Lucy gives me her daring smirk moments before dropping to her knees to yank down my boxers. Clearing my throat, I groan harshly at the feeling of her hand stroking my awakening member.
"Get on the bed Mr. Harding." She smirks with a rough shove to my chest.
Falling backwards on the mattress I do as she says. Scooting my body higher up the bed, I rest my head on the large pillows. My eyes roam over her body with excitement.
Lucy straddles my waist and wiggles her hips in a teasing manner on top of me.
"I love you baby." She whispers against my lips between kisses.
My eyes follow her every move in curiosity. She reaches over to the nightstand where I now notice a glass white bowl on the nightstand. I furrow my brow in confusion when she retrieves something from the bowl and places it in her mouth.
"Raspberries. I have been craving them all day long." She answers my unasked question.
Rubbing my hands along her bare thighs I bask in her silky smooth skin. I thrust my hips up playfully in a suggestive manner at her. Lucy giggles at my impatience.
"Down boy. You know I am going to take care of your needs." She whispers seductively.
Lucy drops her head down to latch onto the skin of my neck. Chills rise along my skin as a result of her biting down on my left ear lobe.
"Now that you are done filming your shirtless scenes I can cover you in as many marks as I want."
My lips part slightly in shock and my mouth goes dry. Lucy playfully bites down on my shoulder hard enough that it's bound to bruise. Next her nails lightly drag down my chest suggesting she is going to have plenty of fun tonight.
I merely laugh softly and shake my head in amusement.
"I am all yours, Sweetheart. Mark away."
Needless to say we were awake into the wee hours of the morning fooling around.
Lucy's POV
Much to my dismay, the dreadful meeting with Marlene has finally arrived. Ian and I are sitting next to each other hand in hand with Marlene sitting opposite of us with a scowl on her face. She has been chewing my ass for the last ten minutes about my recent behavior on set. While I know I went off on a producer and I shouldn't have done so, I don't really care to be honest. Norman was being an ass and needed to be called out for his shit for once.
"With all due respect Marlene, isn't this issue between me and Norman?" I finally ask after hearing enough of her crap.
She sighs roughly then shakes her head. "Yes. However, I am involved the moment your actions start effecting the show. He is a producer Lucy. You need to respect his opinion and if you don't agree with it you cannot merely start a fight on set. You threw off our filming schedule two weeks in a row."
"Last week wasn't her fault. She fell off of one of your sets that was not properly secured. I'd be careful before you start tossing blame around here." Ian buts in, clearly just as frustrated as I am.
"I think you ought to be careful as well Mr. Harding. You are both walking a fine line. I sat here with the two of you a year ago when this relationship began. I then sat here with you two yet again six months ago when you went public. Both times you assured me your relationship would not interfere with the show and yet here we are at a crossroads." Marlene sits back in her chair and crosses her arms over her chest.
"How exactly is our relationship now the issue at hand?" I fire back at her.
While I am trying my hardest to contain my raging hormones at the moment, it is not an easy task.
"If you were not pregnant do you honestly believe you would be struggling with these possible upcoming storylines?"
"Yes." Ian and I both answer firmly.
I am not about to share my personal fertility struggles. Ian is the only one who knows about my personal struggles. He was there for me that night several years ago when I needed him and I swore him to secrecy that night. Marlene visibly huffs in dissatisfaction.
"There are only four episodes left to the series. Do you think the two of you will be capable of keeping your personal disagreement with Norman to yourselves?"
"Are you going to put an end to this ridiculous miscarriage storyline?" I state blatantly.
"Lucy…" Marlene shakes her head in frustration.
"If you drop it then I can assure you, we will make it through these final four episodes without a hitch."
"I think its best you two enjoy your weekend off. I'll see you both Monday morning for the next episode."
Not wanting to sit here any further, Ian and I rise from our chairs and leave the graciously sized office. We walk hand in hand out to Ian's car wishing to go home for a relaxing work free day.
"Hey, what do you say we go for a run?" Ian mutters mindlessly as he pulls into our neighborhood.
Turning my gaze from the established trees, I smile at Ian. "I'd love that. We haven't been up to our trail in a long time. Plus, the weather is beautiful out."
Ian lifts my hand up from its resting place in his lap to press a lingering kiss to the back of it.
"Great." He grins to himself in happiness.
The weather is perfect out. I am donning a pair of skin tight black leggings and I have paired it with a light pink sports bra. Ian is dressed in his favorite black basketball shorts and a dark grey t-shirt.
Ian and I have ran five and a half miles thus far. Our hope is to make it to six miles then call it a day. We are currently catching our breath prior to running the last little bit.
"What do you say we make a bet?" Ian offers up with an unknown look.
"Oh? What might that be?" I ask through my breathless pants.
"Whoever gets to the bench in front of the lake last has to wash the mountains of laundry that have piled up."
I giggle at his odd wager. Nonetheless I nod my head in agreement. Ian and I shake hands on it then prepare to take off in a sprint for the final half mile.
I squeal loudly the closer we approach our finish line.
My little legs repel off the pavement as fast as they can go. Ian's long legs ensure he is hot on my heels. Pushing my body as hard as I can, I carry on with only a few feet left.
Cheering in delight I celebrate my victory. Spinning around I face Ian. Every ounce of cheer drains from my body the moment my eyes land on Ian. He grasps ahold of his chest and slowly falls to his knees.
"IAN!" I scream loudly.
Running over to his side I struggle to understand him. His heavy pants leave his words unclear.
"Ian baby. Breathe!" Placing my own hand over his heart I feel it racing about a million beats per minute.
Within seconds his aching face turns into one of smiles and excitement. I frown in confusion at his drastic expression change.
"Lucy," Ian whispers softly.
He delicately grasps ahold of my left hand. Tilting my head out of curiosity I struggle to understand what is happening.
"I have thought about this moment in my head time and time again. I have loved you more and more every day over these past seven years. I dreamt of the day I would gather up the courage to ask you out on a date with the hope of you saying yes."
Holy fuck. I gasp loudly as realization hits me like a ton of bricks.
"Ever since the night of our first date I knew the next big question I needed to gather enough courage to ask you would be this… I want to spend the rest of my life with you Lucy. It would mean the world to me if you would do me the honor of being my wife whom I can cherish every waking day. Will you marry me, Lucy?"
Ian removes a signature Tiffany and Co. blue ring box from the right pocket in his shorts. My eyes swell with tears at the sight of my boyfriend displaying a breathtakingly gorgeous ring to me.
Nodding my head rapidly I struggle to answer verbally.
"YES!" I sputter through happy tears.
Ian's face breaks out in a dorky grin of happiness as well. He slips the ring on my finger then launches up to crash our lips together.
Ian places me back down to my feet moments later. Our foreheads pressed together firmly just like the rest of our body is. Coming down from my momentary emotional high I jump back to the scare he gave me moments ago. I land a firm punch to his right shoulder expressing my displeasure with his previous actions.
"What was that for?" He groans in pain for real this time.
"Don't scare me and make me think you are having a freaking heart attack! You are lucky I don't push you into that lake." I chastise firmly.
Playfully rolling his eyes he apologizes. Ian twines his arms around my waist returning us to our happy bubble.
"I cannot wait to bring this baby into the world and make you my wife. You have made me the happiest man alive. I love you."
"I love you too." I whisper softly against his lips.
It only took seven years but we finally found our happy ending.
Well there is the last chapter! Thank you for all of the reviews guys! I've had a lot of fun writing on Fan Fiction.
