Emma looked around the spare room; a king-sized bed placed in the middle with a bedside table either side. A wardrobe lay hidden in the corner of the room. Emma glanced down at her clothes; her jeans were getting a bit hot for this muggy rainy weather. She moved across the room and swung the doors open, 'Surely Regina has something I could borrow,' Emma mused as she rummaged around. 'Bingo!' she beamed, grabbing the large white man's dress shirt. After quickly changing, Emma swiftly moved to the bed and flopped down in the middle. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Emma scrambled back in bed; someone was leaning against the doorframe. As the figure drew closer, Emma recognised the silhouette of Regina.
"This isn't real," the blonde remarked, watching Regina.
"No, it isn't." The brunette answered as she climbed onto the bed. "But you don't want to wake up either," Regina whispered she towered over Emma's body.
With nimble fingers, Regina unbuttoned the first three buttons with ease. Emma breath hitched as Regina traced the blonde's collarbone. Soon the Mayor planted soft delicate kisses on Emma's tanned skin. The sheriff placed her hands on Regina's face and pulled the older woman to her own lips. Emma tentatively pressed her lips against Regina's, waiting for a reaction. Regina moaned as she ground her hips against Emma. The blonde smiled into the kiss and let her tongue part Regina's lips, gaining access into her mouth. Regina pulled back and chuckled at Emma's confused look. She pulled the shirt up and kissed Emma's stomach. A shiver ran down Emma's spine as Regina continued to kiss her bare skin. Emma clutched at the sheets and closed her eyes shut. She arched her chest as Regina moved slowly towards Emma's aching core.
Emma bolted upright in bed. Her heart sank as she glanced around the empty room. 'Oh, it was only a dream,' Emma sighed. Her throat felt dry and scratchy. Sighing to herself, Emma got up and crept across the room. Carefully Emma turned the door handle and she slipped out of the room. The blonde clung to the walls as she crept down the hall and towards the stairs. Suddenly the hall was filled with light and Emma froze on the spot.
"What are you doing?" A voice asked sleepily, seeing Emma frozen half taking a step.
"Drink of water…" Emma muttered, pointing down the stairs. Regina nodded and moved forward. "Where are you going?" the blonde squeaked.
"You said you wanted a drink of water," Regina frowned.
"I can manage to get my own glass of water, thanks" Emma protested.
"And have you looking through every cupboard. It's easier if I just do it." Regina replied. Emma opened her mouth to argue but Regina was already hallway down the stairs. The blonde followed Regina down the stairs and stopped at the sound of a dull thump. From the small amount of light from upstairs, Emma could only just make out Regina in front of her, gripping the banister tightly. Rushing down the few steps separating them, she reached forward, gently laying her hand on the brunette's shoulder.
"Are you ok?" Emma whispered, a hint of concern filled her voice. Regina didn't reply but nodded instead.
"Kitchen," she muttered moments later. Emma nodded her head and in seconds was in front of Regina. She held out her hands for support, Regina blushed at their fingers touching then winced as she stepped down onto the ground. Emma held strongly onto Regina's left arm and wrapped her other arm around Regina's waist.
Once the pair was is in the kitchen, Emma guided Regina over to a stool and sat her down. She then wondered over to the cupboards and glanced over her shoulder back at Regina for guidance. A smile appeared on the brunette's lips as she flicked her hands. An object flying past Emma, making her jump in surprise. Spinning around, she noticed a small box hovering mid-air in front of Regina. Next, a glass hovered near Emma. The blonde grabbed it and walked over to the sink. She filled it then moved back to the island bench, she quickly popped a couple of tablets from the packet and held them out for Regina.
"Is it really bad?" Emma asked softly, watching Regina gulp down the pain killers.
"I should've been more careful," Regina gasped. "My back normally goes at least once a year," she shrugged.
"That's down to old age," Emma winked, then chuckled seeing Regina glare at her. Emma took the glass from Regina and placed it next to the sink. It was only at this point that Regina noticed Emma wearing nothing but a white shirt. A shirt of significant meaning which she meant to keep safe and locked away a long time ago. Regina jumped to her feet, temporarily forgetting her pain.
"How dare you!" Regina snapped.
"What?" Emma cried, spinning around.
"That isn't yours!" Regina yelled. "As Sheriff you should abide by people's privacy. That was in plain sight, you went snooping in my house!" she continued to yell.
"Regina, I…" Emma began but was cut off.
"You are just like your mother! Always sticking your nose in things that aren't your business!" Regina snapped and left the room.
"I AM NOTHING LIKE MARY MARGARET!" Emma screamed after Regina. "I am the saviour. I am here to bring all the happy endings!" Emma cried into the empty room. Sighing, Emma was losing the yelling match. Taking a breath, the blonde left the kitchen and slowly climbed back up the stairs.
Regina's bedroom door was half shut, pushing it back, Emma entered the room. The blonde swiftly moved across the room to Regina sitting on her bed. Emma pulled the shirt over her head and neatly folded it on the desk.
"Regina, it was just a shirt…. I'm sorry." Emma mumbled as she knelt down in front of Regina.
