"Wh-what?"
"That woman. The one who was here just minutes ago. Who was she?"
Much to my surprise, there was yet another woman in my house. The first thing I noticed about her... was her long blue hair. Her face was beautiful, but her body wasn't as 'full' as Celestia's had been.
But that wasn't my main concern. Not in the slightest. Princess Luna was in this world once more, and I had no idea why.
"Wh... L-Luna?"
It was her. She was back. And that means...
"That Sarah Lockhart woman. Who was she?"
Princess Luna had returned. She was standing in the middle of my front room with a bored look on her face. She was looking right at me. More than a foot shorter than me but still just as terrifying as when I first met her.
"Y-y-you... you're back! You're..."
"You acted very... friendly to her. For someone who's supposed to be 'shy,' you certainly seem to be very open with meeting new people."
"I-I-I... Sh-she was just... just a..."
I couldn't continue. My mouth just hung wide in shock.
"You seem surprised to see me."
"Wh... I am surprised! I thought I'd never hear from you guys again! Why are you... here, why are... and not... I mean, not that I'm not happy to see you, it's just... why are... you..."
"Calm yourself. I've had enough headaches today. My sister can't stop prattling on about how excited she is to see you. It was nice to see her happy... but it's rather annoying."
"Y-you mean that... She's..."
She gave me a warm smile. "That's right. My sister is returning to your world."
"Wha... Oh my god... This is amazing, this is..." I wrapped my arms tightly around her, and she awkwardly patted my back.
"My sister, as she returned home..." She paused until I let go of her. "Was crying, and I wasn't prepared for it. She rarely shows that much emotion, especially around me. It made you interesting. To think that such a man would catch the eye of my sister. It's... I don't know."
"Do you not like me?"
"You have caused problems for both Equestria, and myself, but I harbor no resentment for this. You had no ill intentions, and no reason to believe that this would happen, so I cannot blame you for our misfortunes."
"Alright then. So... what are you doing here, anyways. I mean, I'm not unhappy to see you, it's just that I wouldn't have expected you to show up."
"Before my sister returned, I wanted to speak to you myself. You've no need to worry. I'm not here to decide whether or not she'll come back to this world. No matter my opinion of you, I'm sure she'd come to see you just the same. It's not as if I could prevent her from doing so."
"Well, when can I see her?" I asked.
"Soon enough. You have no need to worry."
"Soon enough isn't soon enough, Luna!"
"I suppose it depends on when she's ready." she said, "My sister told me that she'd like to be here as soon as possible, but there were many things that needed to be taken care of first, so I thought I'd take this chance to meet you myself. The situation surrounding our first meeting was rather unpleasant, so I hope that this time, we can meet properly."
"I'd like that, Princess."
"So tell me... Who are you?"
"I... I guess I don't really know. There's not much to tell."
"I'm sure there's something you'd like me to know."
"Well... To be honest, I'm not exactly the most exciting individual there is."
She gave me a questioning gaze.
"I'm... boring. I'm really, really boring."
"Why do you say that?"
"The most I ever do is play games. Nothing in my life counts as exciting."
"Do you really believe that?"
"Well you've been watching me, haven't you? I don't do anything. That's how it's always been. I wake up, I go to work, I come home, I relax, then I sleep. That's every day for me. That's not exciting, is it?"
"No, I suppose it isn't."
"I don't know. I guess at times I can be exciting or spontaneous, but most of my life is just boring. And it makes me feel like Celestia didn't like it here. I tried to... do stuff, but in the end, she just kinda sat there with me. It's not fun or healthy."
"She did little in Equestria as well. We Princesses don't have much free time, and what time we may get can't truly be considered free. I know you spoke with her about her feelings concerning her limited freedom."
"Yeah. At least that's one thing she liked about this place. There aren't all that many rules to follow. Outside of standard laws, of course. What about you? Are you happy with your freedom in Equestria?"
"I understand the point of it." she replied, "If a Princess were to act immature, the children of Equestria would see it as acceptable."
"Yeah, but are you happy with it? Do you want to act immature?"
She sighed. "There isn't a pony in our world who doesn't enjoy acting like a carefree child. My sister and I are no exception. We tolerate these rules because we have to."
"Fun. Ah well... I suppose it isn't exactly my business. Whatever. So you just wanted to know more about me? That it?"
"That's right. I said that I wouldn't do anything, but if I am to approve this relationship, then I'd like you to convince me why, because as it stands, I don't believe that you're worthy to... to date my sister." She sighed. "If anything happens to her, I don't know what I'd do. That's why I'm here."
"Yeah, I get it. Nobody thinks I deserve her, but... Whatever. Don't matter. Can't imagine this is a pleasant change for you, though. Sorry about, uh... Everything, I guess. She must like it here or something."
"Unlike my sister, I found my life in Equestria to be rather interesting. There's paperwork, yes, but my sister exaggerated the amount of it. Only rarely are we stuck inside signing forms and speaking with ponies of interest. Our lives are peaceful."
"Peaceful is boring."
"Yes, yes it is. From what I've seen, this world is more peaceful than our own, and yet, I feel nothing but conflict when I'm here."
"Equestria is way more peaceful, Luna. I mean, at least in general. In specific parts, you could say it's more peaceful, but definitely not as a whole. Least my part is peaceful, though. That's really all I can ask for. Good enough for me, good enough for her, I guess."
"Then I suppose it will have to be good enough for me, as well."
"What? Wait, what? Are you staying the night?"
"If I have to. There was much for my sister to do. It may take her more than 1 day."
"That's not soon enough at all. Whatever. So... You seem to already know how she lived before. And... that's about the best I can do given the circumstances. The space to move around and comfort of living isn't exactly the best, but at least the bed is comfy."
"You'd have me sleep on your bed? Where you and my sister..." She stopped herself. She had a somewhat angered expression on her face.
"I don't know, do what you want. It's not like it's permanent. I can't give you everything you want."
"But you'd follow my every command, would you not?"
"I... Where are you going with this?"
"My sister and I are still Princesses to you. I know that you have nothing but respect for me, and while I appreciate this, it leads me to believe that you'd do anything we'd ask."
"So... where are you going with this?"
"Why do you respect us? We're normal women here. Even less than that, we're homeless, jobless, and you hardly know anything about us. None of these are worth the respect of another."
"Well, cause you're Princesses, I guess. There doesn't really need to be another reason, does there?"
"But there is. Our subjects respect us because we are Princesses. You respect us for a different reason."
"Luna, this is kinda... A weird question."
"If you won't answer, then there's no point to my being here. I'd like to think that I was justified in coming here. So?"
"Well, I guess it really just comes down to respecting my elders. You're older than I am. And you've been through a lot, just like Celestia."
She crossed her arms. "Alright."
"Just alright?"
"I'm satisfied with that answer."
"Well... Glad I could be of assistance. So... can I ask you a question, Princess?"
"If you wish."
"What's the point of questioning me like this? Is it fun?"
"To an extent. You're somewhat of a special case to me. Something so mundane catching the eye of my sister. You'll know why I'm doing this soon enough."
"Fun to pick the brain, huh? Hope you don't mind if I ask some of my own questions."
"You're more curious than I am."
I shrugged at her. "Yeah. It's nice to see you again, Luna." I stretched out, and yawned. "Showed up kinda late though. How about we get you settled in before we worry about any more questions. You know, figure out what'll happen with you here now."
"I'm certain that what you choose will be adequate for me. You couldn't properly provide for one such as myself if I were here permanently, but a few days seems tolerable."
"That's... a little insulting."
"I apologize. It wasn't my intention. I've grown too accustomed to the life of a Princess. Any luxury I desired was mine."
"This isn't a competition. Whatever. Pick yourself out a toothbrush and grab some blankets. Home sweet home."
She chuckled. "It's as simple as that, isn't it..."
I shrugged, then walked away. My destination, the kitchen. I grabbed the bowl of three-day-old spaghetti from the fridge and started to eat it right out of the bowl. Still tasted good. It was spaghetti, it's not like it's gonna taste bad.
"You're not going to make sure I'm comfortable?" she asked me, standing in the doorway.
"No..." I spoke with a half full mouth. "'Cause I know you're not. You'd rather be back home than have to stay here. Which is fine. I understand."
"What makes you assume that I would rather be home than here?"
She wasn't asking because I was wrong, she was asking because she was curious. At least, that's what it sounded like. "Well I certainly wouldn't wanna be hangin' around this place if I were you. It's dirty here, and your only company is me."
"You're decent company."
"That... means a lot coming from you. Although I would like to ask, why?"
"An explanation for why you're decent company?"
"After this it'll be your turn to ask a question."
"Are we going to ask questions one after another like that?"
"Hey, it isn't your turn yet!"
She let out a small laugh. "I suppose it isn't. Alright, I'll play your game. You're an interesting person. At least to myself, and my sister. To those who don't know you, you'd be plain, but to us... Capturing the heart of my sister has made you interesting. Other than that, as far as I'm aware, you're nice to those you meet. As long as you remain this way I'll have little issue with a day or so here."
"Alright. Your turn."
She nodded. "Why did you fall in love with my sister?"
"No beating around the bush with you."
She simply stared at me.
"Well, I'm an introvert. I love anyone who pays attention to me."
"Is... Is that it? Because you're shy?"
"Also she's got a badonkadonk for days. I didn't really wanna say anything to you, but Celestia was really hot."
Exactly the face I expected. Confusion and embarrassment.
"Are you really that shallow?"
"Yeah, of course I am. That's how all guys in their 20's are. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna lie. But looks mean very little to me, to be honest. Yeah, it's nice, but I'd never play with a woman like that."
"So... Why do you love her?"
I didn't really answer her before. "I don't know. She made me happy, and I could make her happy. And that made me happy. Happiness is the same as love. For me, at least. I don't know why it happened, but it did. I'm much simpler than you."
"I'm not as complex as you think."
"Don't have to be. However complex you may think you are, I'm much simpler. I don't need anything more than a friend to be in love with someone. Although being a woman may be a factor."
She was just looking at me. Maybe thinking, maybe not.
"So... what about you?"
"What about me?"
"I answered quite a few questions about myself. Now it's your turn to answer some questions."
She crossed her arms across her chest.
"I've been curious about a few things. Like, have you ever been in love with someone?"
"I have."
"What, no details? What was he like?"
"My past romances are hardly your business."
"Ah. Fair enough, sorry. Then, another question. When I was talking about you to your sister..."
"You were talking for me." she corrected me.
"Yeah. I didn't mean any offense by it, but... was I right? I try not to say things if they aren't true, but..."
"Of course you were right. I love my older sister. She had to do what she did, and we've come to accept it. I've forgiven her, and she's forgiven me."
"I just didn't like seeing her like that. If someone's sad, I'll want to help them. 'Cause it makes me feel nice when I can make people smile. And Celestia... I guess I just liked her smile more than everyone else's. It's just who I am, I guess."
"Why do you think my sister fell in love with you?" she asked.
"I don't... I don't really know. If I really had to guess... I would think that it's because I treated her like I would treat any other woman. In truth, I had a hard time seeing her for the Princess she was. To me, she was my friend. When I met her, I wanted her to like me. When I heard her talk, she seemed so fragile, and I wanted to protect her. I was open with her, and she was open with me. We just... connected. Am I right? Did... she tell you?"
"I doubt even she knows the reason. All I know is that she was far too heartbroken for a simple friendship."
I shrugged again, and ate some more spaghetti. I couldn't really think of anything at the moment, and she wasn't saying anything. I think we were done. For now.
"I'm gonna go to sleep. Are you gonna use my bed or what? Cause if you're not I'd like to."
"I..."
"Out of the three places you could sleep, it's been cleaned most recently."
"I suppose that settles the matter."
"Alright."
I covered the bowl, and set it back in the fridge. After that, I started getting ready for bed. Nothing too fancy, just like always. I went downstairs to sleep tonight. All and all, I felt like it was a decent way to end the night. I was excited. I would get to see Celestia again. Everything's coming up Milhouse.
My phone started to ring. It was a local number, but I didn't know it, so I thought about leaving it alone, but ended up answering it.
"Speak." I said.
"Uh... Phil?"
That voice... "Sarah? What's up? You forget something?" Weird, I didn't give her my number.
"No... I... Sorry about calling like this, but... uh... I, uh... I have a favor to ask."
"What? Alright, I guess. What's up?"
"My, uh... parents... um... They..."
"Y'alright?"
"Y-yeah I'm... Can you... c-come to... my house again? I may have told my parents that you were... my..." She stopped.
"Wait, what? You mean... Oh, you did not."
"I'm sorry. Th-they really want to meet you now. They want me to bring you in for dinner."
"Are you kidding me?"
"I..."
I sighed. "I'll get back to you on this. Don't get your hopes up."
"Y-yeah."
"Whatever. I'll see you at work."
I hung up, and looked closer at the number. It was a cell phone, so I jotted her name in my phone, then tossed it back onto the floor.
"Oh, what has my life become?" I asked myself before finally laying my head on my pillow.
*As of this chapter, I will be doing some major editing to what I have already written. Starting at the beginning, I want to rewrite every chapter to make the story better as a whole. I also want to include chapter names. This chapter will be edited as well. After the editing is done, I will post the next chapter.
This chapter isn't a particularly good chapter. I just felt the need to get a chapter up. At first, I thought I had something, but that was a while ago. Then I just wrote a few jumbled messes and stuck them in the chapter. Then I started to trim and move things, and finally ended up with this travesty of a chapter. After this though, I will be adding some sort of real plot to this story.
And now for the personal note. I have been playing so much toontown recently. Like, it's just such a good game. I made 4 accounts that I run through the game at once. It was so fun before and it's still really fun. And Team Fortress 2, of course. I now have 2200 hours in that game, and absolutely no skill against real players. All I do is play mvm. If you play two cities then you've probably seen me once or twice. I've gotten really good as spy, it's amazing. I'm so close to 100 tours but I haven't completed a mission in so long because I don't wanna lose my ticket. My name is still a bit too lewd to say here but if you guys ever see Pinkie Pie's 'something-or-other' playing, it's probably me. You wanna try a game or two send me a message or something.
I finally organized my unpublished stories and chapters. Everything's now on google docs, which is nice. I cleared my phone up. I had 48 unpublished one-shots/story ideas/chapters and well over 75 clopfic related one-shots/story ideas/chapters.
