Percy POV
It felt like something in me had snapped, maybe even snapped back into place. As soon as my eyes had that girl's eyes a part of me awoke that I had thought had been gone forever. I know I had to get out of there before she started to speak or I would have been stuck there. Despite this, I felt a strain, a sinking feeling, in my heart as soon as the tug in my gut signaled my use of vapor traveling.
'I can't leave,' I thought, 'not while Bella was still with those monsters."
The water vapor condensed back together and I fell back to the hard ground. I was in an unfamiliar part of the forest. Rain had started to fall as the sun began to fall below the horizon. I groaned in pain and collapsed back on the ground. I couldn't find the energy to get out let alone travel back to get Bella and fight more of those monsters. Gods, Vapor travel sucks.
'Jacob is supposed to be her best friend. How could he lead her into danger into danger like this. Was he trying to kill her without her knowing, but Bella didn't really seem phased when that Paul guy exploded into a wolf. It was almost like she expected it. Great another secret the gods have failed to mention to me. What else do the fates have in store for me life. Why did they have to throw this girl into my life?'
"It was actually my doing," a familiar female voice chimed behind me. Pulling myself up on my elbows I looked around and saw the goddess casually looking at her nails beside where I lay. She stood at about 5'8 with a toned body and a deep tan skin. Blonde curls fell over her shoulders as a pair of dark grey eyes migrated over to me. Her face wasn't as I had expected. Instead of looking like Annabeth's, it looked more like that girl, Leah, from earlier. Even the skin tone was darker then Annabeth's. Either way I knew who the goddess was in front of me. It was Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.
"Aphrodite," I said tried saying with disdain, but voice sounded like a murmur reflecting how much pain and tiredness I was in.
"As I'm in sucn a good mood right now I'll ignore your disrespect. You should be thanking me honestly. I have provided you with yet another chance at happiness," Aphrodite said in a matter of fact tone.
"I don't want it," I replied glaring at the goddess, "I don't need you messing with love life anymore. Haven't you done enough?"
"I Know that you still have feelings for Athena's daughter," Aphrodite said, "But it's about time you moved past her. Trust me, I know how hard it is, but the past is past."
"Her name is Annabeth," I mustered defiantly.
"Stop being so childish and grow up. I know your hurting. I am trying to offer you an award here for all you've done for us gods. Besides, you need to find love again in your life. You need it to relieve all the pain and suffering you still bare in your heart, especially after all you've been through. You have a cruel fate Percy Jackson don't let it destroy you."
The wind blew through the trees and strangely the rain fell everywhere, but on us. It was like an invisible dome was shielding us from getting wet. Aphrodite started giving off a faint glow as her speech continue with either passion or anger I couldn't tell. I turned my gaze and started at the ground as her words continued. As she finished, her words rang through my head giving me a lot to think about.
"I'll let you know this," Aphrodite said calmly after a minute, "She needs this as much as you do. Her 'kind' mate for life and her heart has been destroyed by it. You two are very similar and you both deserve to be happy. So, I tied your life to hers to give you both the lifelong love that both of your hearts yearn for."
She turned about and started walking off in the distance deeper into the forest. She briefly looked over her shoulder at me and gave me some parting advice.
"As a word of warning. Something is coming this way and I won't be able to help you with them. Now, if you'd kindly look away. With that Aphrodite flashed away as I continued looking at the ground. Her words were zooming through my head so fast that I couldn't make heads of tails of it. An image of that moment when I met Leah appeared before my eyes, but despite everything I couldn't bring myself to let go of Annabeth. I don't know if I'll be able to give this Leah girl a chance.
Strength slowly started to seep back into me as the rain started to soak my skin. Compared to my pain, it felt like bliss. I felt like letting go as my senses expanded out around me. Suddenly, my skin started to prickle, and my heart started racing as if preparing me to fight. I swear I could sense something moving through the trees. My mind was screaming danger. My eyes started to adjust as images of a trio of people came in to sight. Suddenly, they appeared before me in less than a few seconds.
All three of them were staring at me like they were analyzing something under a microscope. One of them was a tall burly man with chopped brown hair. The second was a guy with bronze hair. His eyes seemed the most searching of the three, but the pained expression on his face suggested that he didn't find what he was looking for. The third man looked slightly older and was standing in between the other two. He had blonde hair and appeared to have a calm if not kind expression on his face. All three appeared to have an inhuman look to them. Sort of like hearing the face look don't touch because if you touch it then it'll turn ugly or in this case kill you. What concerned me the most was that each of the men had golden eyes. My mind flashed back to when I last saw Kronos possessing Luke during the second titan war. But unlike him, these guys only had golden iris's.
"Hello, my name is Carlisle. I don't know what you are," the man in the middle said, "we want no quarrels with you, but you are trespassing on our land."
"it's you," the bronzed hair guy said.
"Edward, have you two met before," Carlisle asked.
"he's Bella's cousin," the Guy Edward replied. I started reaching into my pocket for riptide as the men went on. Despite, the rain renewing my energy, I knew I couldn't find all three of them in my current state.
"Now what I'm I going to do with you three," a lighter voice chimed in, "haven't you learn your manners. We are not looking for a fight here" Suddenly a new figure appeared beside me. This one was female. She was incredibly short not even reaching 5'. She had a pixie like appearance with short hair and stature. She kind of reminded me of Thalia. She had an ethereal beauty to her and she too had a pair of golden eyes. She turned towards me with an apologetic look on her face. "Hi my name is Alice. Alice Cullen.
Leah POV
It felt like a whirlwind of emotions was coursing through me. The ever-present feeling of jealousy towards Sam and Emily because of their imprint. As well as the pain in my heart for when Sam left me so suddenly. It only made it worse made I shifted into a wolf and begun to realize why he did. The scorn towards my wolf, my packmates and fate for me even becoming a wolf. The anger towards Jacob's so called friend Bella for accusing me of foraging a bond with her cousin only to break his heart. Emptiness for when He went away, but despite all of this I could suppress the little spark of hope in my heart that I might find my happiness in life with him.
'Percy,' I mused as I sulked away from the commotion behind, "to think I had given up hope that I'd ever find someone.' I could hear someone walking towards me over my thoughts. I stopped and waited for her. My nose immediately told me that it was my mother walking towards me. Despite all that has happened with father dying, becoming a wolf, or my heartbreak over Sam my mother has been a light holding my life together. That and making sure that little Seth stays safe.
"Leah," my mother called coming up towards me, "are you alright?" she must have noticed the pained expression on my face through the back of my head.
"I don't know," I admitted honestly turning towards her, "this is all happening so fast."
"Maybe," she exclaimed, "but you found your imprint. Your source of happiness. That is all that matters. You should be happy."
"I should but," I hesitated, "I feel that it just makes things more complicated. You saw what happened back there. His scent clearly distinguished that he wasn't human and that idiot Paul had to go and attack him. Even when he could fight back and injure Paul. Now the entire pack going to see him as a threat."
"Not quite," Sue clearwater said to her daughter, "sacred pack law states that we can't attack another member's imprint."
"then where did he disappear off to," I exclaimed, "how did he even disappear. It was like he evaporated into thin air."
"Given time he'll you I'm sure," Sue replied, "but for now you have to find him and convince him to come back. I'm supposed to head over to Charlie's within the next couple days. I can take you with me and we can confront him there. I don't neither one of us will want to reveal any of this to Charlie. Now im going to go back and help clean up. Take some time to figure this all out for yourself." With that my mother headed back towards the commotion at the bonfire. Steeling my resolve, I turned towards the forest and shifted. I started running as fast as I can.
'I can't wait mother,' I thought, 'I have to find him. I might not know where he went off to, but his cousin probably does. Let's find that leech lover, Bella Swan.
AN: how was it? It's been a while I feel a bit rusty at this.
